Mounjaro July 2024

Thought id start a thread for anyone starting in July given we are almost there. I've just ordered tonight with Voy, hoping I get approved and will be able to start next week.

I'm a little apprehensive as some of my eating habits are emotionally driven not hunger! So I'm going to need to find some will power too. That's why I've gone with a company that provides support as well as just medication.

Anyone fancy joining along?

My starting weight is 18st 1lb and I'm 5ft 5 so I've ALOT to loose.

Hi all,

I was a bit nervous about my second 5mg because the first 5mg injection caused me to spend the whole morning after throwing up, but the second 5mg was fine! So I'm now in my 6th week, and have lost 13lbs.

Summerheels · 06/08/2024 10:33

You could try splitting it into two doses spaced a few days apart someone on the main thread was doing that by counting pen clicks. It’s against the recommended advice though. I’ve stayed on 2.5mg as my body didn’t tolerate 3.75mg but I’m happily eating a calorie controlled diet and losing weight.

littlemousebigcheese · 22/06/2024 23:20

I'm currently on 5mg and starting to feel really hungry and eating crap again. 2.5 was great but somehow 5 is doing nothing?!
Can anyone recommend a site other than voy? They are super expensive so would love to get it a bit cheaper if possible!

Hey I'm with ZAVA again used someone's code so managed to get it for £122 if you need a code just ask x

Jumping on as I’ve just been approved for Mounjaro. Hoping it will arrive next week and I can start on Thursday.

Did you get it through your Dr?

Lumirubin · 10/08/2024 12:32

@Ballyguin I think most of us are with private suppliers. Happy to send you a referral code if you like :)

So you can get it without having to go through your own Dr?

Lumirubin · 10/08/2024 13:22

@BrendaSmall yes. You pay privately to companies who can prescribe it for you. The company I use has drs and nutritionists who coach you through the weight loss

Yes. My GP would never have prescribed it for me as I wasn’t fat enough. I was fat, just not in a high BMI.

Definitely going to look into it especially as it doesn’t involve my own Dr.
looking online it’s £179 for the first month and then goes up in price each month, if I’m looking at the correct thing

My friend wasn’t apparently!
I definitely am fat enough!
I only eat 1 meal a day, is there a specific diet you have to follow?
Im looking at it online and it starts at &179 for the first month and then each month gets more expensive?
Am o looking at the correct thing?

Look on here for codes. You can get it for around £120.

You don’t have to follow a diet. It will suppress your appetite and keep you fuller for much longer. I have not been hungry once in the almost 6 weeks I’ve been on it. Most days I go about 19 hours before I eat, and then I have to force myself.

MiniCooperLover · 10/08/2024 13:57

Has anyone had a pen that wouldn't prime or plunge down? Never had an issue before but tried to start a new pen and nothing ..: wouldn't prime and wouldn't go down either. I've messaged Juniper and they are usually prompt at responding but it's a bit annoying

Edited

I’m like that already, I can go days without eating, I’ve got to really fancy something that I’m cooking to eat it!
im going to look for some codes and see what I can find

thanks you

Time4changeagain · 10/08/2024 14:27

@MiniCooperLover
Have you tried using a different needle? Could be the needle is faulty

Change the needle, sometimes they can bend a bit when you put them on and that stops any medication coming out.

That worked thank you 🙏

If you eat so little already, mounjaro is not for you. You need to look at why you aren't losing weight already when eating and drinking so few calories and you need to look at your disordered eating. MJ only works for people who need help to reduce their calorie intake.

Have you calorie counted on an app, being completely honest with everything you eat and drink?

That's the only way to get to the bottom of what's going on for you. If you are truly barely eating then you need an urgent medical review to see why you aren't losing weight. Reducing your intake even more could be dangerous.

VEP · 12/08/2024 14:31

I started mine a week ago yesterday - appetite is gone, have to tell myself to eat, I am drinking plenty of water. I used to enjoy a bottle of wine on an evening every other night - now nothing, not even fancying it. I have read it can reduce addictions.

I was 2kg down yesterday morning after trying to lose weight for 3 years. Hoping its a sign of things to come

I used Zavamed.

Hey we aren't allowed to share codes on the threads, there's one just for that.

NewLifter · 15/08/2024 07:46

This thread is very quiet!

Injection day for me again and I decided to go 3.75mg again after all as side effects weren't bad in the end last week and I had very good suppression right up until yesterday. I can still eat, but not tempted at all by 'treats', so I feel this dose is perfect for now, even if it isn't the 'scheduled' dose 🙈

Still no access to scales, really excited to weigh in on Sunday after no weighing for three weeks. Hopefully won't be disappointed - certainly feel like I've lost some weight on holiday.

Hope everyone is doing ok!

MounjaroMunchie · 15/08/2024 08:39

Injection day for me too, @NewLifter - just taken my third dose of 5mg, and I've ordered another 5mg pen. It's working well for me so far, the reduced appetite and feeling of getting full quickly has lasted the full week since the second dose, so I don't see any reason to move to 7.5mg yet.

JaneFallow · 15/08/2024 08:51

First week on 3.75mg, and whilst manageable, I am more conscious of early hunger pangs and there is a bit more food chatter in my head. (Is this inevitable as our bodies get used to the drug - hence the titration up?). Tricky decision as to whether to move up to 5mg just before a holiday and chance side effects, or stay here a little longer.

Whilst early levels of suppression made things effortless, I guess this slightly reduced suppression offers an opportunity to retrain my responses and build confidence I can be aware of food noise and make different choices? Had hoped to do this towards the end of the journey.
