Thought id start a thread for anyone starting in July given we are almost there. I've just ordered tonight with Voy, hoping I get approved and will be able to start next week.

I'm a little apprehensive as some of my eating habits are emotionally driven not hunger! So I'm going to need to find some will power too. That's why I've gone with a company that provides support as well as just medication.

Anyone fancy joining along?

My starting weight is 18st 1lb and I'm 5ft 5 so I've ALOT to loose.

@WeAllHaveWings I think hair loss is related to poor protein intake. Have you been tracking how much protein you are getting? My hair is curly and only brush it in the shower once a week so I always loose a ton of hair at a time, but I can't say I've noticed it be any worse this last month, sorry.

I’ve had some more hair loss even eating well hitting my protein target weekly. It always seems to happen when my hormones get unbalanced but it’s not noticeable as it’s thick. When I started HRT a few years ago getting the balance right eventually stopped my hair loss and I didn’t notice it but my hair dresser asked what I’d been using as it was feeling really healthy. MJ increases I think your oestrogen levels as it’s released from fat stores, hopefully it will settle again soon. Slow & steady weight loss should help I think.

Lumirubin · 17/07/2024 13:48

If anyone is struggling with protein I've started getting huel. They do ready meal type things, you basically add a scoop (200cals) or two (400cals) to water and let them sit, like a fancy pot noodle really! They're high in protein and nutritionally balanced. The Mac and cheese one is a bit false creamy, but the madras and mexican rice are nice. I've been adding a shot of coffee to the chocolate protein shakes to give me the naughty iced coffee feel, but protein boost. It's just been an easy way to keep up the protein for me :) they do blue light discount if that helps anyone. I have a referral code too, but it's got my name in it, so just message me if you'd like it :)

I’ve just done my third injection this morning.

sw 84.5 kg
cw 80.5 kg

so that’s 4 kg in 2 weeks, half a stone so I’m delighted…clothes feel a bit looser.
my blood sugar was 5.9 at the start so I’m going to measure that tmw am too to see if it’s dropped.

Ive still got good suppression so hoping I can stay on 2.5 mg as only having minor occasional side effects. I don’t feel unwell with constipation but defo not pooing much. I’ve added all bran to my yoghurt yesterday and today and had dates to help!

i go away for 10 days on Saturday so will take the pen, inject next Weds, then hope to use the extra dose the following Weds. I’ll order next pen to arrive when I am back. I didn’t want to risk ordering this week in case it didn’t arrive before I left.

MounjaroMunchie · 17/07/2024 15:43

Injection no. 4 is due tomorrow and I can tell. I've been hungry today and the food noise is back with a vengeance, but I have still been getting full very quickly after eating, so it's interesting how some effects wear off more quickly than others. I've obviously still got the slowed stomach emptying, even if some of the mental/hormonal responses are reduced.

Tomorrow will be my last at 2.5mg. I'm going to see what I can get out of the pen bonus dose wise, and use that to bugger the gap between 2.5mg and 5mg. If it's not horrendous, my 5mg pen is already in the fridge ready to go!

Flowersandbubblegum · 17/07/2024 17:37

I've had my first 5mg dose, after finishing my 2.5mg but it doesn't feel the same. I'm wondering if I've left it too long in the fridge before taking perhaps. I actually felt less hungry on 2.5. Has anyone else experienced this?

User364837 · 17/07/2024 17:42

I think you might have got to the 5th jab before most of us.
i think I have read of people feeling more hungry initially on higher doses though on the other threads maybe. Also I find the effects of the jab are more on day 2 than day 1 so maybe give it a couple of days?
and I would have thought time in the fridge is fine - it’s out of the fridge that it loses its effectiveness after 30 days. (I checked about whether it was unsafe after 30 days and doesn’t seem to be, it’s just that it loses effectiveness or may do - I guess the structure of the molecules change or something).

delphi13 · 17/07/2024 19:10

Hi all, started 3 weeks back. I have a 5ml on order but it sure I want to go up the full dose. Does anyone know how many clicks you have to count to get lower doses. I saw it somewhere but can't find it now.

Snozzlemaid · 17/07/2024 19:20

If you want 2.5 from a 5mg pen it's 30 clicks.
Half way in between that and a full dose is 3.75mg and 45 clicks.

Thank you! That's exactly what I needed. xx

Snozzlemaid · 17/07/2024 19:30

I did one week of 3.75 before moving up to the full 5mg.
It worked fine for me with no side effects so I just went for it the next week and have now had 2 doses of 5mg and been fine each week.

Flowersandbubblegum · 17/07/2024 21:04

Thankyou, these threads are so helpful

DumpedByText · 17/07/2024 23:45

Can someone help please. I'm due my 3rd dose of 2.5 tomorrow, and then a week Saturday I'm going on an all inclusive weeks holiday.

I was going to skip my 4th dose as I want to enjoy the food etc. Is that OK?

I want to order the 5mg from elsewhere with a discount instead of paying full price with Voy. Is this possible or will another company insist I have 2.5 again for a month?

Also I'm very constipated, any tips on how to avoid this please! 😳 Should I take something to help things along.

SilenceInside · 18/07/2024 01:10

I don't think I would skip a dose, just because of going on holiday. You can enjoy the food, just less of it than otherwise, surely.

The patient guidance leaflet that came with my MJ injection pen says "If more than 4 days have passed since your missed dose: Skip your missed dose, then take your next weekly dose at the scheduled time." So, I don't think there are any issues with (accidentally or deliberately) skipping a week, other than the levels of active drug in your system will decrease more than if you took the dose at the right time. So, weight loss will probably slow down or pause.

I don't know about swapping suppliers, but from the evidence of what is discussed on the MJ threads on here, plenty of people seem to be swapping at various levels of dosage, so I wouldn't have thought there would be a problem.

For the constipation, drinking plenty of water is the first step and then you could look at the various over the counter treatments. I've seen people mention psyllium husk fibre capsules as being effective, but I don't have personal experience of using it.

User364837 · 18/07/2024 06:48

Many people seem to find the effects wear off as they progress through the doses so as it’s your 4th 2.5mg injection you might not feel many side effects if any, so I would’ve thought it’s better not to miss it completely

User364837 · 18/07/2024 07:29

I did 3rd jab Tuesday eve, this time last week I’d had half a day of sulphur burps on weds eve and diarrhoea Thursday morning but no side effects at all so far this week 🙌 and still feel appetite suppression. Also yesterday felt really energised and clear thinking.

Aworldofmyown · 18/07/2024 10:40

I'm due my third jab today. No weight loss this week but I am due on any day.
On a positive, my period cravings have not arrived 😃

CatTraveler · 18/07/2024 18:57

Doing my second 2.5 tomorrow - First week has gone well and its lovely not having the food noise, is this how "normal" people are all the time? I am definelty not haveing the supression I had at the start of the week but still i am much less hungry than before hand.

Do i need to do the priming bit again before I do the injection? I suspect so but wanted to check.

Snozzlemaid · 18/07/2024 19:17

Yes you are supposed to prime again.
It's to check the needle is working fine and get rid of any air.

Emeraldpies · 19/07/2024 07:47

Second weigh in today and 2.2lbs lost. Still no side effects or appetite suppression and food noise is still very loud. I finish work today for six weeks and always pile on weight over the holidays when I'm at home. I'm looking forward to moving up to 5mg and hope that will help to prevent that. Will take third 2.5mg jab this evening.

Week 1 -7.8lbs
Week 2 -2.2lbs

BemusedBrenda · 19/07/2024 08:37

Fourth injection and third weigh in for me this morning.

SW: 15st11
CW: 14st13

Wk 1: - 7lbs
Wk2: - 2.5lbs
Wk3: - 2.5lbs

I've actually stopped counting calories as I have no urge to overeat at all, so I'm just trying to make sure I eat balanced meals. I'm hoping that will set me up with good habits for eventually coming off MJ as I don't like the idea of having to take it for life.

I bought one of the introductory packages from zava so I will be going up to 5mg next week but I have found 2.5mg pretty effective - probably could have done another round of 2.5.

KeepinOn · 19/07/2024 09:13

3rd jab last night, weigh in this morning.

SW: 106kg
CW: 103.3kg

tbh, I was a bit over 106kg when I started, but I can't remember the exact figure. I am going to call it half a stone loss in two weeks.

I'm definitely feeling hungry as normal this week, and I'm not sure I'll be able to hang on and eat less until I increase to 5mg. I was ill for most of this past week so didn't eat much as a result of that.

But my clothes are starting to feel looser, so that's a great motivator to keep going even when feeling hungry. I really enjoyed the feeling of not being hungry though and want to get back to that asap.

WeepingInASunlitRoom · 19/07/2024 09:31

This second week I've felt so much better, less tired and able to exercise and motivated to do more around the house. Appetite suppression has been great and I feel I've eaten healthy, nourishing food in small quantities.

But the weight is not coming off on the scales. My clothes are looser and my stomach isn't bloated but the pounds are not shifting. I was 7lbs down but 2lbs have gone back on so that's 5lbs in just under two weeks. I was really hoping I'd be able to stay on 2.5mg as I'm not feeling too bad in terms of side effects and the appetite suppression is so strong and food noise banished. But if the weight isn't coming off, I'll have to go up to 5mg. I have a lot to lose - at least five stone from starting weight - so it feels excruciatingly slow right now, given that most diets start with a whoosh!

SilenceInside · 19/07/2024 09:33

Third injection today for me and second weigh in. Thanks to everyone for posting their updates too, it's interesting to see the similarities/differences in each person's experience.

SW: 139kg
CW: 134kg
GW: 125kg

"Only" a kg lost this week, but that's just over 2lbs which is a sustainable amount. I am still amazed at the effectiveness of this at getting rid of the obsessive thoughts about food, and not really feeling much hunger either, despite eating a lot less than I would have done otherwise.

EternalFatalist · 19/07/2024 11:21

2.5 mg injection Number 3 this morning...weigh-in Number 2...still no issues. Feeling good and looking forward to hopefully a few more lbs off in the next week. Hoping to do a bit more walking and exercise as my work has quieted down slightly.

Start weight: 15 st 8 lbs (BMI = 37.2)
Current weight: 14 st 11 lbs
Goal weight: 9 st 0 lbs (BMI = 21.5)
Week 1 Loss = 6 lbs
Week 2 Loss = 5 lbs
