@ClonedSquare Congratulations. 20% is amazing. 5 stone just round the corner.
I am heading towards my next goal of 6 stone and this has been a game changer with the food chatter in my head eliminated. It shows us that weight loss and gain is chemically based and I’m not just lazy and fat and unable to keep weight off. I too plan on keeping on small dose once I reach goal. That is the scariest part of all this for me.

Snipples · 01/11/2024 19:58

Checking in... food noise is back with a bang and temptation to mindlessly snack. I'm having to be quite strict with myself that I am not hungry and don't need it.

Weight is hovering around 11st7 but I've been eating carby things and we had a bit of a blow out over Halloween so this is just water weight I think.

I've been keeping portions small, it's just I am more aware of the smallness as I don't feel full. Such is life I guess, will just have to keep an eye on it or risk the weight gain.

Greentrilby · 02/11/2024 09:44

@ClonedSquare well done on losing 20% of your body weight. I’m thrilled for you.
@Snipples have you stopped MJ completely and if so did you just go cold turkey or titrate down?

Snipples · 02/11/2024 13:46

I phased back down to 1mg and then stopped cold turkey. I could've gone to 0.5 and then 0.25 but I didn't want to have to buy another two months worth as I'd hit and then exceeded my target.

It's been fine other than the noise is back but I think that was always going to happen. Oh to live in a world with no food noise!

Greentrilby · 02/11/2024 17:17

Thanks for sharing this. I think when the time comes I’ll do the same.

Pinkbendyman · 03/11/2024 11:33

To those of you who recommended the M&S Sienna jeans, a huge thank you 🤩

I can’t believe how well they fit and in a size 14 too! It’s been a very long time since I wore a size 14 jeans so I’m over the moon!

Just got back from a week away and have gained 1.8 pounds but it was definitely worth it because I ate and drank what I wanted but easily stopped once I felt full.

That takes me back up to losing 6 pounds now to reach my goal weight and a healthy BMI.

Back to meal planning and the gym this week cos I’m determined to reach my goal weight before Christmas.

Hope everyone is doing okay?

Greentrilby · 03/11/2024 19:40

@Pinkbendyman thats a great NSV. Yep, sienna jeans are magic and a size 14 is such an achievement. You are so close to your goal now I’m sure you will achieve it by Christmas.

Greentrilby · 09/11/2024 22:58

Well I seem to have hit a plateau with no weight loss for almost two weeks. I know it’s to be expected and my weight loss is slowing down but I’d like to see the back of a few more pounds. My hope of losing seven pounds before Christmas Day is looking unlikely but I’m hanging on!

ChangeEmailAddress · 10/11/2024 22:46

What dose are you taking? Could it be time to move up to the next one?

That’s a good point. I’m still on 5mg but don’t want to go up to lose the last seven pounds as I think it will be harder to wean myself off iyswim. I’ll give it another week or so and see how I get on.

Greentrilby · 14/11/2024 09:47

So finally I’ve moved off my plateau and lost two pounds. I really should have more faith and accept that weight loss isn’t linear. Anyway, I’m ploughing on and have entered a new stone bracket which thrilled me no end.

Had a family wedding at the weekend and comments were interesting ranging from “you look amazing/gaunt/too thin in the face/fabulous” depending on who I was talking too. DH is also on this journey with me so I deflected the comments by saying DH has done really well! Just didn’t like the attention.

this thread is very quiet now but I hope some are still reading. Where are you all? have you all moved onto other threads?

@Snipples how are you getting on with the food noise
@Pinkbendyman still loving the new jeans?
@CrystaltipsnoAlistair and @ClonedSquare hope you are both ok?
@SilverHeels have you booked that JL stylist yet?

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 14/11/2024 09:59

Hi @Greentrilby still here and still plodding away on MJ journey. So pleased you managed to deplateau (don’t think that’s a word lol) and lose 2 pounds. That is great.
My losses are slowing but am still losing just at a much slower rate. Am down nearly 80lbs in 6 months and can’t believe have come so far. Still got a bit to go but knew would be a long journey. The best bit is knowing I can do this as in any other weight loss journey I would have given in by now and started gaining again. Without food noise it is so much easier.
Hope everyone is doing well. Would love to hear how everyone is getting on.

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 14/11/2024 10:04

I know what you mean @Greentrilby about comments from others. It is hard to cope with at times. I hate the “You don’t need to lose any more!” comments. I feel judged like a slab of meat…not anyone’s business but some people feel that they can say what they like. We are doing this for us. I’m still classed as obese but people seem to think I’m now gaunt and too thin ?????

Snipples · 14/11/2024 15:48

It's so interesting to hear of the comments, especially the too thin ones. I think people are just not used to seeing us smaller and have to make a comment. I had that too and I'm far from thin or skinny, still technically overweight so it's hardly into danger territory!

Do you find the comments come more from people who have a few pounds to lose themselves? That's been the case for me.

Anywhoo - all going well here. Maintaining at about the same so I'm happy with that. There is temptation to snack but I'm trying to be conscious of it and keep it to a minimum/ keep an eye on portions etc. I've asked family to be vocal if they notice me starting to put weight on (which I'm sure they won't do 😂)

I've ordered a lovely dress for my SILs wedding which I hope fits and that will be a bit of a "showcase" moment for me. Although my MIL would rather turn inside out than pay me a compliment 😆

ClonedSquare · 14/11/2024 19:13

Hi @Greentrilby. I've not moved onto another thread, just haven't had much to report! Still steadily losing 1-3lbs a week, having a fair bit of diarrhoea and sulphur burps. Went up to 12.5mg yesterday and hoping that will stop the food noise that's been back for a while.

I thought about buying some jeans today and hesitated because I remembered I'd tried on some a while ago and they didn't look good even in big sizes. But I went back and looked at my chart and it was three months and 30lbs ago that I tried them, so maybe it is time for another try!

No one has commented on my weight loss in real life, which I'm miffed about in principle although I know I wouldn't actually want the comments really!

Greentrilby · 14/11/2024 20:29

Ah lovely to read all the messages. You are all doing so well and it’s so encouraging. Here’s to no unwanted comments re our weight and lots of new clothes!

Pinkbendyman · 15/11/2024 16:53

Hiya everyone!

Yes, I’m still here and very happy to report that I’ve now reached my goal weight and a healthy BMI. It’s taken me exactly 6 months and I’m so happy! I’ve lost over 4 stone which is still unbelievable!!!

My size 14 M&S Sienna jeans are so wonderful that I’ve just treated myself to a second pair in a different colour!

I think clothes shopping has been such a pleasure these last couple of months after having spent years in loose, baggy clothing that I never particularly liked or felt good in.

I don’t quite know what my maintenance plan is going to look like though. I’ve got 2 unused pens left in the fridge so I’m going to start tapering down over the next couple of months and then have a think in the New Year.

I’m not sure that I want to stay on MJ for the long haul because I don’t especially like the way it makes me feel, especially the slight nausea and fatigue. But in equal measure, I’m scared to NOT stay on it because there’s no way on this green earth that I’m going to put all that weight back on, ever again.

CrystalSea · 16/11/2024 18:01

I’m still here, still losing (I had a lot to lose) but I’m on a steady 2lbs+ a week which is about right for me - I’m old and don’t want to lose weight too fast before my skin can catch up! I went out to lunch today and was starving but got half way through my meal and couldn’t eat any more.

I feel so much better. All my health niggles were caused by my weight and I was in complete denial about it. Another stone down and I’m going to start running again. I think my knees will be able to take it

Greentrilby · 17/11/2024 09:23

@Pinkbendyman thats amazing! Well done you. Watching with interest how your tapering off goes.
@CrystalSea 2lbs a week is a perfect amount in my view. I’ve averaged that too and am 63. The health benefits are enormous aren’t they and, although I don’t think I’ll ever take up running, I have started lifting weights which I think is doing me good.

Snipples · 17/11/2024 18:09

Well done @Pinkbendyman - that's incredible!

@CrystalSea 2lbs a week is the perfect amount. I averaged out at about 1.5-2lbs a week and my skin has been fine. A bit wrinkled round my stomach (mostly by the navel) but I would never bare that area anyway.

MrsNessaSmithy · 21/11/2024 05:34

Morning checking in to say I am under 150lb.

I started in May at 203lb and have named changed a few times. Today I weighed at 140lb and am delighted.

since September I have only lost 6lb after having some horrible symptoms and dropping down my dose. Target seems very close now and I would like to drop 1 more size then maintain. I am getting married at short notice so may wear a fitted wedding dress. I have never worn a fitted dress in my life.
