Back from my holiday and I've stayed the same weight as I was when I left. Very impressed with that, as I was definitely eating more and it was hotel food so generally probably higher in fat, sugar etc!

I usually inject on Sunday nights but only got back last night and forgot to do it before bed. My hunger and cravings aren't really back despite being two days late on the jab so that's reassuring that it is still working!

Greentrilby · 10/10/2024 09:16

Morning all! Not posted for a few weeks as I’ve been on holiday. So my news is that I put on one pound on holiday and lost it quickly when I got home. I’ve weighed myself today and have finally hit my three stone loss. I’m thrilled!
SW 14st 4lbs
CW 11st 4lbs
My BMI is 25.5 so I’m still in the overweight category but it’s getting closer to the green section.

I reckon I’ve spent just under £600 and have stayed on 5mg which has worked for me and have lost, on average, 1.9lbs a week.
one of the best things about this journey is the encouragement from people on this thread and being able to share both the positive and negative effects of our individual experiences. thankyou to everyone who posts.

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 10/10/2024 16:39

@Greentrilby Congratulations. That’s brilliant 🤩. Bet you are so chuffed.
I’ve also stayed on 5mg as it works really well for me.
@ClonedSquare Hope you had a lovely holiday and enjoyed the food. Great MJ has kept you on track. I’ve come back from holiday before and put weight on and felt so depressed about it then kept on eating.
I’m now 1lb away from a 5 stone loss in 21 weeks. I would have given up by now am sure as I have in the past but now have the belief I can get down to a reasonable weight. I’m now just obese and not extremely obese…yippeeee.

ClonedSquare · 10/10/2024 18:51

Well done @Greentrilby , so close to the magical 25! And congrats on the three stone mark, it's so good getting to a round number!

@CrystaltipsnoAlistair Thanks for the congrats, it's so nice to come back not feeling demotivated. Congrats on (almost) 5 stone, that's my next goal and feels like such a big one!

I've stuck with 10mg for the next month and hoping I won't regret it. It's still working for me, but I'm having to use willpower to not snack rather than being too suppressed to even consider it. Hoping it stays at this level of effective for the next month.

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 10/10/2024 20:48

Thanks @ClonedSquare It’s been great having support on here and people who understand the journey. I focus on one stone at a time and am happy to have lost anything really. Never imagined it would be this easy without the food noise.

Greentrilby · 10/10/2024 21:24

@CrystaltipsnoAlistair @ClonedSquare Thanks for responding. Yes I’m delighted with my progress and I’m in good company with the two of you. Looking back I can’t remember exactly why I took the plunge and ordered MJ but I’m jolly glad I did! Can you remember what made you start?

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 11/10/2024 06:07

@Greentrilby I always had a weight in my head I swore I would never go over. When I stood on scales (never been on them in a year) and found I was a stone over I knew I had to do something.
This or a gastric surgery. So glad I tried this. It works so well. Nausea been my only side effect and that goes after a few hours in the morning.
so grateful for the support here too else it would be a lonely journey.

Pinkbendyman · 11/10/2024 11:07

@Greentrilby @CrystaltipsnoAlistair @ClonedSquare

Many congratulations to you all! Amazing work 🎉👏🥳🥰

ClonedSquare · 12/10/2024 13:11

Thanks guys 😁 I hit 4 stone total today so halfway to my "bare minimum" final goal! And I tried on a load of coats I'd ordered in various sizes and the smallest size was the one that fit! Still not a small size in itself, but nice considering I've not previously felt my weight loss showed at all!

@Greentrilby My main motivation for starting Mounjaro was deciding not to have a second child. I had no excuse not to start trying to lose the weight anymore. And I found myself self conscious doing things with my son and worried about being the embarrassing fat mum. He starts school in 2026, so starting in May meant a 2.5 year deadline rather than feeling pressured.

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 12/10/2024 15:31

Thank you @Pinkbendyman It is so good to have others going through the same journey.
Never thought back in May I could be down 3 clothes sizes almost 4. It’s been so much easier than I ever imagined.
Congratulations @ClonedSquare 4 stone is amazing 🤩. Bet that was such a joy the smallest coat 🧥 fitting. I’ve tried on clothes I never thought would fit and they did. I still imagine I’m bigger than I am. Still got a long way to go. You are doing so well to be half way there already.
@Greentrilby What a great motivator taking your son to school and feeling fab.Been able to be there for him and feeling so much better. That’s a great goal. I was so embarrassed asking for seat extension on plane. My wee one didn’t say anything but I felt mortified. Hopefully never need one again.
Have a great weekend guys.

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 13/10/2024 09:59

Happy Sunday. Have hit the 5 stone off today.
Been exactly 22 weeks so delighted 😁.
Am sure things will slow down as still have a way to go but happy to be plodding downhill towards a healthy me.
Thanks to all the support on here. Has been a great help.

Greentrilby · 13/10/2024 10:03

It’s really interesting to hear what made each of us start MJ. As I said in my earlier post I can’t really pinpoint what made me start, I think I read about it on here and thought I’ll give it a go in a half hearted way. Never in a million years did I expect to be three stone lighter! I think I’d like to lose another stone to get into the good BMI zone but haven’t really had any goals in the past. God I’m coming across as a total dithering idiot aren’t I!

ClonedSquare · 13/10/2024 11:17

Well done @CrystaltipsnoAlistair , that's an amazing achievement! "Plodding downhill to a healthy me" is a great way of putting it, I'm going to keep that as my mantra 😂

@Greentrilby Not a dithering idiot at all! I've been laser focused on goals and plans on every one of my past diet attempts and they've all failed miserably. Now I have some vague goals in mind but I'm largely just going with the flow. Better to be a "ditherer" who is losing weight!

Greentrilby · 13/10/2024 11:51

@CrystaltipsnoAlistair huge congratulations to you! So pleased and delighted that you are doing to well. What are your nearest and dearest saying? Are they supportive? You must feel over the moon.

@ClonedSquare yep I think I’ll stay a flowy ditherer 😃

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 13/10/2024 17:46

Thank you so much @Greentrilby and @ClonedSquare . Such kind words and much appreciated. I haven’t told many people only my two adult kids. Not told my parents or friends as afraid of any backlash or “We are worried about you…” comments. The negative media out there doesn’t reflect the positive impact that so many people are having. My doctor was delighted so was pleased at that as scared he would be judgemental.
Never a dither @Greentrilby . There are so many reasons to lose weight but after years of yo yo dieting I’m hopeful this time. Finally found something that works. If I have to take this for years or life I would. I couldn’t put myself or family through a gastric surgery so this was my last hope.
Hopefully save me hip and knee replacements in the future carrying around so much extra weight. That was killing me.
Having goals or just plodding….whatever works guys. You are amazing and we are doing so well on this journey. The hope I have for us all is we don’t give up and this works long term for us all.

ChangeEmailAddress · 17/10/2024 22:47

I've messed up again. This time with doses. I've just got my first 10mg pen and intended to slowly increase from 7.5 but I forgot and injected the full dose. Out for dinner at friends at the weekend and I'm scared of everything - the sulphur burps, the squits, and basically not feeling hungry and being unable to eat enough to be polite. Certainly won't be drinking.

Please can you let me know if the jump to 10 is a big one.

ClonedSquare · 18/10/2024 07:39

@ChangeEmailAddress I didn't notice any change moving up to 10mg, other than it being effective again after 7.5mg had started to feel quite weak to me.

I randomly started getting sulphur burps and some diarrhoea partway through taking 7.5mg (after having zero bad effects up to then). But the burps were manageable and the diarrhoea was only when I ate something that was inherently really fatty (like sausages). I've not had any problems eating out, even if I have things like chips or other fried food.

Greentrilby · 18/10/2024 08:48

@ChangeEmailAddress how are you doing this morning? Hopefully you aren’t suffering any side effects and your body is adjusting well to the new dose.

I’ve lost 2lbs this week which was surprising as my weight loss is slowing down but I keep telling myself it’s still a loss. Im now 11st 2lbs and am nearing a normal bmi. Still not sure what my end goal is going to be but pondering 10st 7lbs which sounds unbelievable but is achievable I’m certain. That would be the most perfect Christmas present to myself.

hope everyone else is still on a downward journey 😃

Pinkbendyman · 18/10/2024 14:24

Just checking in to update my progress.

I’ve now lost a total of 3 and a half stone.

7lbs left to my goal weight and a healthy BMI.

I’m losing a pound a week now but have been introducing a few carbs. I’m making good use of the slow cooker now it’s colder and don’t feel much like eating salad anymore!!!

ChangeEmailAddress · 18/10/2024 16:00

So far so good with the side effects, but forced down a 'fuel' breakfast drink, had water at the gym, and black tea (never take milk anyway) with a couple of rich tea finger biscuits and I think that was probably lunch. I think that I was ready for the step up to 10

CrystalSea · 19/10/2024 11:54

I was very overweight (and still am) but I’ve lost 3 stone, my BMI has come right down and I feel so much better. I was breathless on up hill walks and I’m not any more. My cardio fitness has improved, I’m sleeping better and it’s so much easier to move and do things.

I put on most of the weight during lockdown and just carried on gaining afterwards as it just seemed insurmountable to lose it.

This has honestly been life changing for me. It’s worth every penny

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 19/10/2024 14:40

Hi guys. So good to hear everyone doing okay.
Congratulations @CrystalSea @Greentrilby @ChangeEmailAddress @Pinkbendyman on the fab losses.
Totally get you @Pinkbendyman re warm cooked food versus salads now it is getting colder. Having more soups this weather.
I’m down just over 5 stone now and actually feel like I can keep going to target at some point in the future. Normally I would have given up bored and hungry by now but don’t feel that way. Long journey but doable.

ClonedSquare · 19/10/2024 17:50

I've kind of stalled this week (after a bizarre loss of 6lbs last week in the week after my holiday!) but it's totally reasonable as I have been eating less healthily this week. Definitely think I'll be moving up to 12.5 when I order my next pen, I think I have two more doses after tomorrow.

@Pinkbendyman I'm also finding my appetite changing now it's colder. Hoping I don't get lured into carbs and comfort eating now, it feels like eating less was much easier in the summer!

@CrystalSea Congrats on feeling healthier! I've noticed such a difference in my overall health since losing weight with Mounjaro. I feel like it's not so noticeable visually but I'm so much less exhausted, more flexible and breathless a lot less.

Congrats all on the continued losses 😁

Silvesterthecat · 21/10/2024 13:47

So I was about to stop taking Mounjaro as I have one last dose left but I think I’ll get 1 more pen as I have a refer a friend discount and this will take me way under my target weight and allow me to titrate down slowly. Although I’m now soooo over feeling full (and sick!) and not eating a full plate and also being cold and tired!!! (I work outside all day on a farm!)

But today for the first time I am wearing a pair of size 10 jeans and have just weighed in at just a smidge under 9 stone and have lost over 25% of my body weight. I do still have a big fat roll on my belly though that won’t go!

Weirdly I have had 12 emails from VOY over the last month so say a friend just used my referral code which I find a bit suss - I’ve not shared it anywhere but here and not recently so itust be way down the thread. I’m wondering if they make it up to keep clients ordering, especially as it would have been free and now it’s 60% off. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

Greentrilby · 21/10/2024 19:47

Ooh I don’t know about Voy but their tactics do seem variable and I’m not sure I’d believe that 12 people had used your code, especially as there are gazillions being posted. I think I’d go with your instincts and do what’s best for you in order to titrate down. You’ve done incredibly well and deserve to have every possible chance of maintaining a weight you want to be.
