Injected in my thigh yesterday. Feeling ok today. Not sure I can feel anything but am eating less.

If you have got a big meal or holiday I’d personally wait. The leaflet recommends a bland low fat diet. I think when people have pushed it and eaten rich food or alcohol have sometimes had side effects.
I’ve been fine in the main but have just had an upset tummy I think due to eating something spicier last night, I was glad I was at home not at airport put it that way.

Thank you for that. I will hold off until after anniversary meal.

Investinmyself · 05/04/2024 15:36

@PissedOffNeighbour22 thats a fantastic loss you should be very proud of yourself.
I’m aiming for top end healthy bmi then will see. Lots depends on your frame.

I’m cc with nutracheck. But I’ve previously done sw and still eat in a similar way eg 1/3 plate veg, overnight oats for breakfast. You do need to focus on protein not fill up on carbs on mj. The sw SP plan (protein & veg plus healthy extras) would work well. So eg overnight oats breakfast, omelette or homemade soup lunch and protein & veg dinner.

I might try and follow sw but like you say do more of the sp plan. But will calorie count too. Want to try and eat the right things when it comes to meals to give this the best shot. It’s so expensive I don’t want to muck up.

Happy Anniversary. Enjoy your meal then crack on. Mine is also hidden in veg drawer..4 weeks in and husband not spotted it. I was cc anyway so I’m just on a diet same as before in terms of food.

It’s comforting to know that I am not the only hiding them away in the veg drawer! 🤣

There's actually a chance my family would go in the veg drawer so mine's on the top shelf of the tall fridge behind the obscure jars of sauces and pickles that no-one but me is likely to move! And wrapped in foil just in case, although realistically if my husband saw that he'd probably open it to see what tasty leftover is inside! 😂

I rate nutracheck it’s got a bar scanner. I have it set for cals and protein.
I’m eating some carbs but small portions.
I’m doing 3 meals a day. Pretty much protein yoghurt & berries breakfast, soup or eggs lunch and protein and veg dinner with small weighed portions of a carb. What mj has done is enabled me to cut portion size and cut out snacks.

Mine’s wrapped in kitchen roll. He never ventures in there and if he did I think he’d think it was celery or something and not unwrap it.

Do any of you follow a diet like slimming world along with the jabs?

I'm not following a diet but I am following what I did when I had gestational diabetes, as that's a low sugar/carb approach. I did lose a few pounds despite it being the last 10 weeks or so of pregnancy. I'm using less butter and cream now though, as fat is almost encouraged to "pair" any carbs, and I'm not diabetic now so don't need to be as mindful of blood sugar. On the flip side I'm also letting a few wines back in!

The GD website was a godsend for me at the time for low carb but decent meals so I've kept my subscription going. I had their chicken korma last night. A lot of their recipes are free though and you don't need to subscribe if anyone wants some inspiration.

FlappyFish · 05/04/2024 16:11

Yes, mine is hidden in the salad drawer. Ha ha ha ha. Love it.

and well done @PissedOffNeighbour22 I think it really helps those just starting to see our losses and experience.

lurkylurk · 05/04/2024 13:21

@angeltop

It's recommended to put it in your hand luggage as the hold luggage can get exposed to extreme temperatures and air pressure changes which could damage the vial or the medication. That does mean though that you'd have to put it in the liquids bag going through security, unless you're flying from one of the airports that have the new luggage scanners, even then you may have to on your way back if they don't have the new scanners in the destination airport.

You could put the needles in your hold luggage though as you're not supposed to take sharp objects on board, it is allowed for insulin and medications and would be allowed for this but there's no need to have them on board for Mounjaro and it avoids having that possible conversation!

Thanks for reply, yes think I will go for fluid bag and hope they don’t look too hard. Needle in hold luggage x

Mine is in an empty box of film, along with other boxes of film inside a tupperware tub in the salad drawer of the fridge! 😁

I've just received an email from Pharmacy2U saying that there's a manufacturing delay with 7.5 and 10mg in case no one else has seen this

"We regret to inform you that there is a manufacturing delay with the Mounjaro Kwikpen in the 7.5mg and 10mg strengths. Please be assured that we are diligently working to secure a timely supply.

Why are you receiving this email?

Based on our records, you may be scheduled to transition to the 7.5mg Mounjaro treatment for your next step. Unfortunately, due to this manufacturing delay, which affects all treatment providers, Lilly (the manufacturer of Mounjaro) has informed us that stock of that strength will not be available when you are due to switch to it."

That sucks. When are you supposed to go onto 7.5?

cloudchaos · 05/04/2024 16:58

I've just got onto 5mg, so in 4 weeks...

No, I'm trying to be more intuitive - I'm aiming to eat well without having to diet by the time I hit an ideal BMI.

Basically I'm trying to make sure I hit the protein goals, eat plenty of veg/salad, limit the processed food I eat, but also, if I fancy something processed, I'm not going to deprive myself or worry about it. Sometimes I put things into my fitness pal just to check the protein and to ensure the calories are roughly enough if I'm not sure.

From 4 weeks after starting 5mg, but if the 5mg is working then no need to go up. I guess, see how you feel when you get there. I plan to stay on each dose as long as they work.

@angeltop As it's medication you're usually advised to bring your prescription or the box showing your prescription details too, in case they want to see it.

stealtheatingtunnocks · 05/04/2024 17:11

I’m on day 10 of 2nd dose of 5mg and it’s only now wearing off. I have been really busy so I don’t know if my appetite has been affected by that (I’ve heard thin people say they were too busy to eat- never understood it)

I’ll take the 3rd dose tomorrow, but it is interesting me, does anyone find they are getting more than 7 days out of a jag?

Wisheverydaywasfriday · 05/04/2024 17:24

Evening all. I have just taken my second dose, but worried that I haven’t! My syringe looks like this now, but I feel the plunger hasn’t gone down any. The number did wind back to 0 though as I depressed. What do you think?

Continuing Mounjaro...part 3

That looks normal to me, I think mine was only on the first line after my 2nd dose.

That looks exactly as I'd expect after two doses. There isn't a line for the first dose so when the plunger reaches the line it's after the second dose is done.

lurkylurk · 05/04/2024 17:29

@Wisheverydaywasfriday

I just did my second dose today and mine looks exactly the same, sitting on the first line. Hope that helps.

Wisheverydaywasfriday · 05/04/2024 17:32

Thank you @Stickthatupyourdojo and @MoreThanJustANumber . Started to panic! On the plus side after Week 1, I’ve lost 7.2 lbs 😄 So was worried I’d messed up for Week 2 😅
