@NextPrimeMinister Yes, same. Normally, by now, I would have lost half a stone then fallen off the diet wagon and have put it all back on plus a bit extra. I'd be filled with self loathing and despair. This is such a different experience!

I've had a few people telling me how well I look this week, which is nice.

montysma1 · 05/04/2024 09:16

So, I got an extra 1.02mls from the pen.
I was definitely winding pen to 1 in the previous weeks so wasn't expecting to get quite that out. That's exactly 1.75 doses extra.

LoadsToLose · 05/04/2024 09:22

Thank you @ObsidianTree great list!

I think we should remove the reference to injecting in the bum, as far as I know Eli Lilly are recommending to inject in the tummy, thigh or top of arm. No mention of bum in my leaflet.

I could have written this!
First shot of Ozempic and later that day my appetite just disappeared....and this lasted for the entire time I was on Ozempic. The side effects however were utterly horrendous. Constant D&V 😳
I lost three stone and then couldn't get any more due to only being available for people with diabetes.

Had a four month gap and went onto Wegovy.
No effect whatsoever....and I went up to 1mg.
I actually did wonder if I was injecting myself with water, but for the side effects!

One and a half stone back on.

Now on Mounjaro. No side effects at all but also no change with my appetite.
Due to start 5mg in one and a half weeks but will try a 5mg shot next week (2.5mg shot plus the leftover solution in the syringe)

Fingers crossed!

Thank you! It's really frustrating. Keeping everything crossed for us. Today I have food noise, but don't feel like eating.

@ObsidianTree thank you! The twisting is very different to Oz/wegovy, I was really confused at first and watched a YouTube vid to make sure I wasn't doing it wrong.

MammothyGoodness · 05/04/2024 09:27

Just done my fourth injection and my third week weigh in, lost another 4lb which takes my total loss to 1stone 2lb so feeling good! It definitely wore off yesterday and was more self control than feeing full so I’m happy today! 💪

NCfor24 · 05/04/2024 09:29

@ObsidianTree the list is fantastic

And just to say to you and all the other posters, I genuinely think this is the most helpful and supportive weight loss group I've ever been a part of. I actually feel like I know that this time I am going to lose my weight. I'm already happier and more positive generally.

I have to keep reminding myself that 2.5mg is starter dose and I'm not supposed to be losing and I'm ok with this diet warm-up period. The real dose starts soon and I'm ready for it.

My DH has gone away today until Monday and he's the cook so I will actually truly be able to focus on choosing what I want to eat and have a great kick-start. And zero alcohol too which will be very beneficial I'm sure!

ObsidianTree · 05/04/2024 09:32

Thanks all :) I know myself that I need people to talk to when I'm on a diet and I find this group really helpful :) especially when most of us are keeping this weight loss method to ourselves!

@ObsidianTree that's a really great list.

Weigh in day today, just done injection 7.
Starting weight 15st 11lb 8oz
Last week's weight 14st 2lb 6oz
Current weight 13st 12lb 4oz

Starting bmi was 40.4 and current bmi is 33.9. I'm very pleased with how it's coming down.

I'm so happy to see 13 on the scales so I celebrated early last night with a takeaway, then lost another pound overnight. I'm so close to 2st loss!!

My original goal was 2st off by end of May for my 40th birthday/holiday. Now I'm upping that to 3st as that will put me back to the weight I was when I met my DP 6yrs ago (pre 2 kids). My final goal is 10st as I don't think my 'correct' weight range of 7st 8lb to 10st 2lb is achievable at the lower end.

No one has noticed my weight loss 😂 (apart from DP of course). I'm not fully down to a size 18 yet from a 20 but my clothes are much looser, especially tops as I seem to be losing a lot up top and very little from my belly.

JanetSnakeholeMacklin · 05/04/2024 10:01

What @NCfor24 said. This group is so supportive and I'm so glad for it. It also feels like the least disordered eating "diet culture-y" group I've been a part of too.

Woke up today after 2nd injection last night. None of the headache/tiredness I had last week. I was really hungry when I woke up too, and last week, it took 3-4 days before I felt hunger at all. So that's different. No food noise or cravings though. Had a decent protein breakfast (2 m&s protein pancakes, 2 turkey bacon slices, 2 cups of coffee with milk = 30g protein). Trying to eat enough protein is by far the biggest challenge with this lifestyle change.
Can barely walk after yesterday's workout!

Rainbowl · 05/04/2024 10:01

Wow @PissedOffNeighbour22 that’s an amazing loss! Well done!!

JanetSnakeholeMacklin · 05/04/2024 10:04

@PissedOffNeighbour22 That's brilliant! And changing your goal too - how nice must that feel! Well done 👏

Oh gosh! That's quite a lot!

NCfor24 · 05/04/2024 10:11

@PissedOffNeighbour22 you're doing so well!
Once upon a time I lost a lot quickly and no-one noticed until suddenly people were speculating I was ill and then telling me I'd lost too much 🙄
I was still at a BMI of 25/size 12 when people decided I was skinny!
I also lost my boobs way before my belly shrank but it seemed to even up later on. So your body will do it's own thing then figure it out 🤣

Your losses are very inspiring. I love a good success story to keep me going!

Really helpful @ObsidianTree.
I am also finding this group helpful and supportive. People are trying to do this in a healthy way and looking to building healthy habits.
I’ve still not told anyone in real life. DH surprised me by mentioning wegovy this morning (he knows my weight loss efforts not getting anywhere cc/pt have been getting me down) I will probably say something to him now.

LoadsToLose · 05/04/2024 10:56

Well done @PissedOffNeighbour22 that’s amazing- to increase your goal must be an awesome feeling and quite unexpected!

LoadsToLose · 05/04/2024 10:59

Little win I have had is logging my meals on My Fitness Pal for a 44 day streak… this is real progress for me. I’ve never managed to stick to it before- always fell off the wagon!

It’s really not a big deal/ commitment to do it. Just habitual now and I’m not obsessed by food like I have been on diets previously (working out how I can game it to pack more “treats” in)

That sounds amazing! Is that on 2.5mg for the first 4 injections?

I understand this is a stepping stone to the 5mg and some people don’t experience weight loss, but that is really encouraging if you are losing weight even at the ‘getting used to dose’

I did a lot of research before taking Mounjaro, so although the guidelines are that this is not a therapeutic dose, it does seem from this thread (and previous two) that a lot are seeing results even at that small dose.

Well done you!

guestusername · 05/04/2024 11:03

It’s here! I’ve popped it into the fridge, checked that the needles are present and correct, read the instructions about 5 times and had some breakfast so why am I so nervous about it??

I think it's normal to be nervous. I was and I think a lot on this thread were too. But just go for it!

I started my first dose yesterday, it was really simple and didn’t even notice the needle. I was also a little nervous but once you realise how simple it is, you’ll be an expert in no time 🙂

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 05/04/2024 11:33

Thanks @LoadsToLose. I'm on a good streak with my fitness pal too. Like you, I've never managed to stick with it before. Thanks also to @JanetSnakeholeMacklin and @Rainbowl.

Thanks @NCfor24. I lost weight 10 years ago for my 30th and no one noticed until I was 'too thin' either 😄. I was 6st less than my starting weight this time so was quite a shock to see just how much weight I've put on in the last few years.

Lacuranights · 05/04/2024 11:34

Well, I’ve just done my first dose! Watch this space……

ObsidianTree · 05/04/2024 11:37

Well done for all the loses today :) and any I missed other days!

Everyone is doing so well 😀

Good luck @Lacuranights and @guestusername

When I lie down I can just feel the edge of my rib cage. Haven’t felt that for a while.
