I've changed to medexpress for my second 5mg pen and my order came today. No bloody needles. They won't send out until I confirm all my account details 🙄.

TheOverweightFortySomething · 03/04/2024 17:48

That’s a good idea. I’ll use that lol.

My pen did come with wipes in

Thank you

The needles aren't lost in the box somewhere are they? Mine are in a small separate box, not the wrapped pen bundle, and I nearly lost them in the packing paper.

I think with protein, you're meant to have about 1g per kg of body weight. I'm roughly 120kg so I try and have 120g of protein. It's really difficult though, so I try and make do with 100g at the very least. I've also just started strength training so I hope this will help prevent me losing muscle.

I'm on day 6 and due my 2nd dose of 2.5 tomorrow. My appetite is still wayyyy less than it usually is. I just can't think of anything I'd like to eat! I still get hungry, I'm just not fussed about particular foods. And I've gone off some things too: butter tastes horrible now. It's like when you go off food when you're pregnant.

Am nervous about weighing for the first time tomorrow!

Sunshineandrainbow · 03/04/2024 17:58

Yippee mine was waiting after work. Contamplated another evening of eating freely and then gave myself a stern look as that's why I am here.
First needle didn't work, think it got bent. So first injection done but I have now only got two needles left. Will it matter if I use a needle twice?

Start weight 18 stone and here we go!

Did you check the packaging? Mine were in a separate box with wipes in too.

Don't use the needle twice. You can either message your supplier and explain and ask for another needle, or buy a box of like 100 from Amazon or chemist. I think someone recommended some a few pages back. Might be worth having some spare.

I've just extracted and injected my bonus 5th shot of 2.5mg. I went with the extraction method rather than the forced twist method as I wanted to extract all remaining medication and measure it.

I managed to get about 0.75ml (a 2.5mg dose is 0.6ml) so I think this is about 3.1/3.2mg which I'm happy about as I wanted a bridging dose between 2.5mg and 5mg.

The needles I used are 1ml 0.33x8mm Plastic Multiple... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0C4HC51NY?ref=ppxpoppmobappshare

The needle was slightly wider and 2mm longer than the needles used on the pen but it was completely pain free. I primed the dose first before injecting.

So it will be interesting to see if I notice a difference this week. I'm not super hungry on 2.5mg but I'm trying to consume at least 100g of protein and I haven't lost any weight in the last week. Hope I start losing again this week. I'm 5'1 and currently 74.2kg down from 79.7kg from 6 March

Anyone else still finding changes to their menstrual cycle since starting?

Since I had DD2 my periods have started with a day of spotting followed by two heavy flow days and then they stop.

I’m on day 6 of MJ. I started spotting 3 days ago and only today have I had anything like enough bleeding to call it my period, even then it’s pretty light flow.

I wonder if anyone on here has been on MJ for long enough to know whether I can expect similar disruption for the foreseeable? Regular and predictable periods is one of the only things my body has done well all these years 🤣

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 03/04/2024 19:06

@ObsidianTree No box and no wipes either. Just a leaflet about weight loss.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 03/04/2024 19:10

@KeepingUndercover There was no packaging in the box, just 2 random squares of cardboard and a leaflet about weight loss. Came in a huge cardboard box though and the ice was almost melted even thought it was delivered just after 9am.
Looks like mine got packaged by someone who couldn't be bothered!

ObsidianTree · 03/04/2024 19:14

That's annoying @PissedOffNeighbour22! Guess they were useless at packing it!

I’ve just realised I’m 5 and a bit weeks in and I’ve missed my period @Rainbowl . Definitely not pregnant so I’m guessing it’s affected my menstrual cycle. Not too bothered about this (I’ve completed my family).

Hey, I've had 2 ttm on Mounjaro. First was about 3 days early and 2nd was 2 days early! So annoying as ttm is already annoying enough!

I had an awful period two weeks ago. It came late, was super heavy and very very painful. No sore boobs though, so at least there's that. Very much hoping that's not going to be a monthly feature

Rainbowl · 03/04/2024 19:30

Hmmm interesting it seems to be affecting a lot of us but in different ways. I think if anything my period this month is early (I really should pay more attention!). It’s annoying but a price worth paying I think!

I would like to know what the random squares of cardboard were for though as they serve zero purpose 😄

Hopefully they'll be better next time if I use them again. Especially as they're notifying my GP I'm taking it and I was hoping they wouldn't as I'm having my records pulled/checked by the life insurance soon and I didn't declare it.
Fingers crossed they're as lax with the reporting as the packaging.

Day 6 today on 2.5m and the appetite suppression sorcery has run its course! Definitely hungrier today and the snack cravings have re-emerged. Can’t wait for next jab on Friday, as having to employ will power again. Such a switch; a few days ago I couldn’t visualise having to go up to 5, as had v little appetite.

Same! Seems to be very common from day 5-6 from what I’ve read on here so I did kind of expect it. I’m not ravenous but I’m able to finish meals and feel a bit of food noise coming back.

I am due to take my next dose tomorrow evening but I might take it tomorrow morning instead.

Mine arrived the same this afternoon

Edited

Mine was a week late but felt like it was on the way for ages before. Lots of cramps.

My DP has had the snip so I don't need to worry about pregnancy but I schedule my work investigations/interviews around my period as I sometimes have to go 10+ hours without a loo break. Thankfully it eventually started on a weekend.

Pigriver · 03/04/2024 19:49

@Sunshineandrainbow please go back a few pages and check on the post about reusing needles.

Is there a specific method you followed to get the liquid out? I've had a google and can't see anything.

Thank you Flowers

lurkylurk · 03/04/2024 19:59

My totm has become very random (although genreally closer together!) due to perimenopause so I'm not a reliable test but mine was what I would consider late, I also had the same feeling like it's about to start for days before

Whattodo112222 · 03/04/2024 20:01

I'm on day 3 and my appetite is just gone, completely gone. I find it insane I don't think about food at all.

I'm forcing it in even though I'm indifferent about eating it. It's really bizarre. Can feel a few pounds off already.

Is it normal to get a bonus dose with the 2.5 dose?

I've pretty much eaten as normal today (week 3 day 6) with the exception that when I took the kids to the cinema this morning I was able to just buy myself a bottle of water not pop and sweets.
Food noise is back so I'm thinking I'll take my last 2.5mg tomorrow morning, so 24 hours earlier. I have my 5mg pen ready, and extra needles for the 'bonus' dose which I'll maybe take in another 5 or 6 days I guess, just eeeking out the first pen another half a week or so to save a tiny bit of money...I'm ready for 5mg though, just appetite suppression hasn't been consistent, really hit and miss - though I'm definitely eating meals well, I am resisting all snacking.
