Hi All, although I started this a few weeks back as interesting as this thread is I try to stay away as I'm trying to keep my injections in the background otherwise I'll keep comparing and weighing myself more often
However ..... I lost a stone on the first 5 weeks of 2.5 - four official doses and the extra week of what was in the pen, I've done one week on 5 and about to do my second dose tonight and have weighed in weekly this morning and haven't lost a single solitary lb, so disappointed x

JanetSnakeholeMacklin · 03/04/2024 08:20

Hi @bblondemoment - a stone is fantastic. Have you taken any measurements? It's possible you have lost inches? Will keep fingers crossed for a loss next week for you. How are you feeling on the 5 dose?

Has anyone noticed their resting heart rate has increased? Mine has went up by about 10bpm.

Hi. I just had a couple of weeks where I stayed the same or lost a pound on my first doses of 5, but things have now started moving again.

The only changes I have made are having an electrolyte tablet every morning with water and a couple of days ago I started on aloe vera tablets as I wasn't 'going'. I also feel that the 5 dose has really kicked in this week.

I think that it seems to be pretty normal to slow down after a fast start, so try not to despair. A stone in five weeks is still great 🙂

ObsidianTree · 03/04/2024 08:35

Morning all,

Today I'm feeling like the 5mg effects aren't as strong as last week. I have noticed that I am able to eat bigger portions that I have been able to before.

I am thinking I would definitely have gone up to 7.5mg for next pen if it was available. Hoping my 2nd 5mg pen still has an effect!

Also I am struggling to get my protein in without feeling like I'm overeating. When I started MJ and wasn't trying to eat lots of protein I would naturally reduce the amount of meat I ate as I couldn't eat big portions. Now I don't really feel like meat on the jab. The thought of a meaty breakfast really puts me off. So I don't know how to get the protein in that I need! Yesterday I felt like I over ate from trying to eat protein! I ate 3 sausages at lunch and a decent portion of minced beef at dinner. During the day I had a protein shake, a protein bar and a glass of collagen protein drink. I went to bed feeling really uncomfortably full! So today I'm going to research high protein foods that I can eat that isn't massive amounts of meat because I can't continue to eat like this!

Hope everyone is doing well ☺️

Morning.
I took my second dose of 2.5 yesterday as I thought it would be a better fit for my work pattern.
Today was my first weigh in and I am down 3.5lbs (yesterday I did a sneaky weigh in and I was 4.2down so a little disappointing but I did have a greasy pizza last night and am a bit bunged up today.)

NCfor24 · 03/04/2024 08:44

@Thebaldprimadonna that's amazing! Well done!

NNSingers · 03/04/2024 08:46

Good morning everyone, I've been avidly reading all your stories on here. I've been a yo-yo dieter for years, I was a big child and teen. I've also been very slim, I'm now about 2 stone overweight and it's round my stomach which it never was before! I'm 45 this year and definitely peri-meno. I did keto very successfully during lockdown and dropped weight incredibly fast and felt amazing. That's all back on now and a little more. I've tried keto again and been as strict but nothing seems to be working now. I've decided to go for Moujarno to see how it goes. I did my first 2.5mg injection at 6pm yesterday. So far so good, I've woken up feeling ok, not particularly hungry but could defo eat! My question is, how much protein is advised per day on this? I've tried to look back through all three threads but I get lost and then they jump back to the beginning! I've stocked up on cottage cheese, Greek yoghurts, protein powder, chicken, eggs etc! I've also started aloe tablets and antacid tablets to combat side effects as soon as possible! I'm excited to start but have a lot to learn about this xxx

How about things like cottage cheese, nuts, fish, eggs, protein yoghurt etc?

Thanks Janet I felt terrible for a couple of days after my first 5 injection - terrible headache and nausea but it soon passed, I count myself lucky because it's the first symptoms I'd had since I started Mourjano x

Soukmyfalafel · 03/04/2024 09:34

Welcome NNSingers. We sound very similar. I have been skinny most of my life and could eat really well (although I was overweight as a pre-teen), but have piled on weight in my middle as ive aged (as well as back and arms). I'm in my early 40s and have peri symptoms too and I think a busy life with a FT job and kids (one which has a sleep disorder) hasn't helped. I have found it hard to get my head around the fact I need to eat less now and needed a 'reset'. Need to lose 2 stone too.

I have lost about 10-12lbs in three weeks, but think a lot of that was water. My belly fat feels a bit less loose and wobbly, but is very much there still, but I think losing it will come if I stick to it.

Thanks Thebaldprimadonna, my starting weight was exactly a stone less than you and you're catching up quick so well done on your fantastic loss so far, I hope my weight loss journey picks up soon again but it's reassuring to know yours picked up again after a stall on the 5 dose x

I get 100-120g of protein per day pretty easily, from- tinned tuna, cottage cheese, eggs, smoked salmon & chicken breast, maybe some legumes, fish in soup, etc. I also use Lidl High protein products, which I rate.
Typical day (yesterday) 120g cottage cheese, 50
g smoked salmon, 100g chicken breast, fish soup, bean casserole, Lidle high protein pudding. (That’s the protein food only) Total calorie intake 1200. Comfortable, satiated but not stuffed.

Thank you @Soukmyfalafel we do sound very similar! It's like this weight has just appeared from nowhere and will not shift, whatever I do! Agreed it's round the middle, back, arms and for me, bum and hips.
I am keen to see how this works out for me, you're doing so well so far! I'd be super happy with 10-12lb in that amount of time. I do think a lot of mine is water/inflammation as my lower legs puff up, as does my face. Let's see!
Thank you @Moanranger for all the protein advice! I do love all those things so I'm excited to get properly started ☺️ xx

How has anyone on voy fouhd the coaching sessions? I was asked to book one and it's now said none Available with the person I requested. I just wondered if they were useful?

TheOverweightFortySomething · 03/04/2024 10:47

My order arrived this morning and I’ve already taken it.

Exciting times.

I had a look, but they only had a few coaches and I read all their bios but didn't feel like any of them would be helpful for me.

Weigh in week 2 for me, though I took 3rd dose 2 days early so I will be able to enjoy my anniversary weekend a bit more.
Total loss in 2 weeks 3.9kg/8.5lbs. Very happy with that.

I'm also struggling to get enough protein, despite having shakes and yogurts etc. Though it didn't help that I had crisps and chocolate while cooking last night and then wasn't hungry enough to eat my dinner! Lesson learned.

stomachamelon · 03/04/2024 11:12

@RagzRebooted it's not compulsory then? Sorry I thought you had to engage as part of the plan. That puts my mind at rest :)

Hi, new here. Ordered Mj from asda on Monday. They wanted pictures, I sent yesterday but still waiting. Forever refreshing page hoping it changes from pending to dispatched.
Is asda quick at delivery? Wished I went to medexpress after finding about them from reading here.
I can’t wait to get started, especially after reading some of your loses here.

Continuing Mounjaro...part 3
JanetSnakeholeMacklin · 03/04/2024 11:48

@April88 Do you think that means they won't prescribe maintenance doses?

I've asked Asda if they'll continue to prescribe it until I'm in an ideal BMI range and for maintenance once in an ideal BMI range. Waiting for a reply!
