Hey! I’m about to start my MJ journey when my first pen arrives tomorrow. I need to lose around 8-10kg.
I have a question for those that have been on it a while - what do you do to prevent loose skin, as it seems the weight loss is very quick.
Is there anything you need to do like moisturise regularly or particular exercises, or is it not a thing that happens?

I can't find the post from the person recommending nutracheck, but I'm thinking of signing up for the year. I have the 7 day free trail at the moment. Is it work waiting to see if they further reduce the price for the year? Or is £27.99 the best price I will get?

I did look for coupon codes but none of the ones I tried worked

Hi, I use Nutracheck & have done so for a couple of years. One of its best features is Recipes. If you are like me, I tend to have a number of recipes on repeat - main courses, soups, salads. I input the ingredients, choose number of servings per recipe & Nutracheck does the rest.
Don’t know about discounts, I’m on auto renew

@ObsidianTree thank you so much for the medexpress discount code, I’ve ordered 5mg for £95! Amazing!

I inject Friday evenings so will be doing that later (I’m actually excited, which is something coming from someone who has always been scared of needles!). I’ve lost 8lbs this week. Only side effects are feeling very cold and having vivid dreams. No appetite, so much easier to make healthy choices! Amazing!!!

So I am not the only one hallucinating then. The dreams are exceedingly vivid lts like I am tripping out on LSD .. not that I would know what that feels like 😀. Also I wonder what is causing the Coldness. I just had my 1st 5mg dose about 4 hours ago.

That sounds great. I have been trying to put recipes into Fitbit but it's a pain as I have been manually working out calories of ingredients etc! I have paid for the year for nutracheck now. Was sold when I could chose to monitor protein and calories on my daily food!

Those are some great NSVs @FlappyFish and @spamm well done!

As someone who is not telling anyone in real life that I'm using Mounjaro, I'm finding reading everyone's posts really helpful.
I don't think I'll need to buy any new clothes for quite a while, I've got a wardrobe full of clothes that are too small!
After terrible reflux yesterday, I've had a symptom free day today, which has been a relief. I suspect my mums bland low fat cooking has helped! I did get a bit peckish mid afternoon and had some low fat crisps and one mini egg. I was worried the medication was wearing off, but had nothing after that until dinner. I'm now full after some salmon and steamed veggies, I'm sure that will be me for the night.

Baldatbirth · 02/04/2024 19:03

I have permission and it is being dispatched. Has anyone ordered through pharmacy 2u? Any experience on how quickly the medication gets dispatched. I really want to start it on Friday.

Be interested to know if you feel much difference. Have you lost well on 2.5mg? I toyed with staying on it, but today I can feel a bit creeping in so happy to go for 5mg next.

Rainbowl · 02/04/2024 20:11

5 days since first MJ dose and I can feel its effects waning slightly in that today I’ve felt a little hungrier before a meal. The food noise is still very much muted though.

So grateful for this thread as I know from reading others’ experiences that this is relatively common so I’m not too surprised and still feel really good.

Just about to make dinner. A Gousto meal of Spanish Style King Prawns with Crispy Potatoes and Aioli. I had homemade veg soup, some roasted chicken and half a brown roll for lunch, overnight oats for breakfast and a bit of Easter egg today. Don’t feel deprived at all!

CiderJabs · 02/04/2024 20:21

@Rainbowl remember you can take the jab a day or two earlier if you're feeling too hungry and at risk of eating too much crap! And if you manage to get the 5th dose, you won't be any worse off if you take one every 5 or 6 days.

Daisypod · 02/04/2024 20:24

Day 2 for me and finding nothing different 😢 I had such high hopes and thought I might finally loose weight after being overweight all my life. Has anyone found it takes time to work?

spamm · 02/04/2024 20:37

@Rainbowl - you will figure out the best dose for you. I had days where I was ravenous on the 2.5 and the 5.0, and I just had to power through and eat the best food I could so that I did not get back into bad habits.

When I hit 7.5 (I live in the USA, so different for me) it really felt right and I lost more weight in the last month than in the first two. When I can finally find 7.5 again, I plan to try and stay on it for a while, if it is working. Right now I have to titrate down to 5.0 again, as the 7.5 is unavailable where I live.

@Daisypod - you need to give your body more time to get used to this. The way the medication works, it builds up and hopefully will have more effect. It doesn't work for everyone, but you do need to trust in the process more than two days. The first month I got through more on willpower than anything, but it was so much easier with the medication than without.

RunningAndSinging · 02/04/2024 20:37

Yes it took time for me. I noticed a bit of difference by week 3 of 2.5 mg but 5 mg has been better. Still not that amazing but there are higher doses to come. Someone posted a graph earlier in this thread about how the dose builds up over time. 2.5mg is not supposed to be a therapeutic dose.

BourbonD · 02/04/2024 19:16

Hi
I thought I had lost well as my SW was 181.5 kg . I went down about 6.5k but weighing my self today I now find I am at 177.3 which is 4.2kg loss. . Anyway a loss is a loss. The 5mg is already kicking in. So it's a case of weaning my self the rubbish, even the small portions.
So to recap
SW 181.5 kg
CW 177.3 kg
TW 100 kg
Essentially I need to loose a whole person ! 💃

NC543210 · 02/04/2024 21:51

@Daisypod
I was like this on my first week and actually posted a message as the 3rd day I was more hungry than I was without the jab.
I'm now day 3 of jab 2 and I can definitely feel it more. Don't get my wrong there's still a lot of willpower involved but the jab seems to be making it easier to make a good choice rather than a bad choice.
I'm looking forward to getting to 5 though.

NC543210 · 02/04/2024 21:54

Has anyone else noticed an increase in energy?

I'm on jab 2. Last week I did feel a bit tired but this week I definitely feel like I have more energy and motivation.
I went for a nap earlier as I'm off work and thought why not. Couldn't sleep. That's really unlike me.

I'm still noticing a definite improvement in my overall mood too.

The only negative side effects for me are constipation and feeling freezing cold all the time. So far. touch wood

Daisypod · 02/04/2024 21:57

Thanks all, I guess it's seeing posts about people feeling the effects on the first day has got me feeling despondent (not that they shouldn't post as every experience is equally valid).

I’ve used them. My second order I placed Thursday was dispatched today. My first order came quickly.

LoadsToLose · 02/04/2024 23:07

I’ve had a terrible weekend, the effects of my 5th 2.5mg dose had totally disappeared and I was ravenous over Easter. Really bad timing! I feel awful now - bloated and unhealthy. I ate a fair amount of chocolate 😩Why I did it, I don’t know.

But I’m dusting myself off and have taken my first 5mg dose this evening. I couldn’t take the dose earlier as I’ve been out of the house and didn’t want to risk any side effects.

So far so good on the 5mg. I can weirdly feel the effects of the medicine in my body … I feel more satiated and less anxious, have a bit of a lump in my throat as before.

I will have put weight on this weekend, so I’m now going for damage limitation!

This is the point at which I would have given up on a diet previously, but I’m determined to keep going.

This will clearly have limitations for me once I’m at target weight and need to maintain.

I've ordered from them twice and it came really quickly. Do check they sent needles - they forgot them for me and another poster but sent me more very quickly

Yes, for me it was after the second dose of 5mg, so took a good 5 weeks before I felt any positive effects.

Femeia · 03/04/2024 00:05

Has anyone found 7.5mg available to order/pre order yet? I have 2 more doses of 5mg and then hopefully the extra doses from the 2.5 and the 5 to make my first 7.5, but then I'll be wanting my 7.5!

Apparently available from 15th April I believe.

Hello all! Checking in. I’ve bought the aloe tablets. I’m going to be taking so many supplements I may rattle.

As the regulars to this thread know I weigh daily. Injection 8 is due Friday. This morning I am 12.5. I started at 14.1.

I have had to give in and buy some new clothes. I was beginning to look like a teenager again. Jeans falling down and hoodies so baggy I could have been a Billie Eilish tribute.

I am now a comfortable size 14. I had to buy new bras too. I was getting to the point where there was no support left. It was a very cheap Primark haul. I got a couple of new bras and some cuffed joggers. I had to buy them in a medium. A 12-14. It is the strangest feeling taking clothes into a changing room and thinking ha it will never fit and then everything does up. Not even snug. Fits.

That should keep me going for a few months. I work from home and have nothing to dress up for.

Hi to all the newbies and the fellow ongoing posters. Thank you all for being here and sharing this with me.

Yay! Fantastic progress!

I only put weight in in the last few years so I still have 3 different sizes of clothes in my wardrobe and really looking forward to being able to get back into some of them! But I will want to buy some new ones to celebrate as well!

A while ago our wardrobe was getting rather full and my DH suggested getting rid of clothes we don't wear so I said go ahead for yours but I have lots that used to fit not that long ago and still holding out hope they will again!
