@Purpledefector
I haven't told anyone either as just want to get on with it without people asking/commenting about any weight loss etc, DH does not know about injections but knows I'm watching my diet which is not too unusual on/off. I've lost about 6 lb in 2 weeks of taking the injection but not too noticeable yet.

So I'm due my third jab of 2.5mg tomorrow.
So far...no change whatsoever! No suppression of appetite at all!
I was on Ozempic a year ago and within hours I was not hungry....
Was on it until June and then couldn't get hold of it after that.

This is so frustrating!

Anyone else been the same?

I didn't notice any difference until halfway through the third week (several days after my third injection). Then I suddenly found I wasn't that interested in food. Very strange feeling!
I'm hoping that will be increased further when I move up to 5mg as I'm still finding I can eat more than I probably should. I've never really waited until I'm hungry before eating, I was quite happy to graze on food all day but that has certainly changed after several weeks on 2.5mg. I got a fifth dose out of my pen so will be going up to 5mg later this week.

Yes! I had zero effect on 2.5 and only now after 2 jabs at 5 am I feeling anything- really frustrating and my losses have been minimal, purely through willpower. I'm keeping going as I think it finally worked today, fingers crossed

I haven't told anyone. DH would like me to lose weight for my health (we're both turning 50 this year and my BMI is 37) but I don't think he'd be happy about me taking medication. He's very sporty, and is very much in the eat a bit less, move a bit more camp.
It's still less than 48 hours since my first dose. Late last night I had a sore tummy. Pretty sure it was a result of trapped wind and the noise of my stomach gurgling woke me up at 5am,
With it being Easter weekend, our meals have been richer than usual, which I don't think has helped with my discomfort. Taking DC off to my mums for the week, so my diet will be much simpler which should help.

ChristmasLightsLover · 01/04/2024 08:00

@Albertslittletie I went to the GP. It says on the NHS national site that it is available. In practise, it isn't.

To access tier three support which is where this is, you need to actively engage with tier two support - 12 weeks of exercise and dieting and they may consider you from there.

GP said they'd like me to be seen this year to start the process. And then followed up with a text message to say that our area is not prescribing injections or tablets. It's just the support, even within level three.

I think it's good to be on their radar though in case anything changes. I asked for help in January and haven't heard anything since.

All the best with making decisions around this. It's a big financial and personal commitment but it's working for me.

Keepthepeace82 · 01/04/2024 08:49

Anyone else using Asda and moved from 2.5mg to 5mg? Do you have to go through the consultation process again? I can't see anything on my account on ordering 5mg. Just the option to re-order the 2.5mg. Hoped to order this week and wanted to double check I wasn't missing anything!

rainbowsandinfinitesparkles · 01/04/2024 08:52

Had my 4th 2.5mg injection this morning. Did attempt to get the extra out to go to 5 and whilst I could prime the pen and get the dose loaded to 1 it was very jerky trying to inject which made me feel sick/dizzy so I gave up.

SW 16st12lb
CW 15st12lb
Total loss 1st from 12 March.

The weird thing is if you told me I would be down a stone in less a month I wouldn't believe you but now I am I feel it's not good enough - joy of shitty parenting as a child - I really need to work on this mindset

I'm not counting calories just trying to eat more intuitively and listen to my body in hopes it will become more sustainable when not on the injection. Not having too much in the way of side effects just cold and less frequent bowel movements.

5mg approved and hopefully be delivered in the next couple of days. Decided to move up as still getting food noise day 6 and 7.

You have to fill in the questionnaire but don't need any photos. Once I filled in the questionnaire it gave me the option of 2.5 or 5. I clicked on the reorder button in the order history of the dashboard

@rainbowsandinfinitesparkles thanks for confirming that. I've gone to the re-order section but when I fill in the questionnaire, it only gives me the option of 2.5mg. I'll send them a msg.

vivariumvivariumsvivaria · 01/04/2024 09:53

I'm on week 2 of 5mg, due another jag on Wednesday - I'm down 16lb, lost 3 this week.

16lb in 6 weeks. Down a dress size.

It's amazing. I've had one vomit/diahorrea, last week on day 3 of first episode of 5mg, which was unfortunate as it happened not at home. Some constipation off and on, but, managed with prunes and over the counter stuff.

My joints don't hurt. My skin is great. I'm waking up early.

It's a miracle.

I’m on their weight management programme but honestly it’s pants - every few months I get a call from a dietician who just tells me to eat nuts and cereal bars and I had one session with a therapist who talked about “naughty food” and I had to cancel her.
i might reach out to them and ask if this is an option.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 01/04/2024 10:07

@vivariumvivariumsvivaria that's great news. Sounds like the meds really suit you.
I'm 1.5 stone down but still haven't gone down a full dress size yet and my skin is worse!

Just found my 4yr old on my cross trainer 😂. She's happily singing the fireman Sam theme tune and has already burnt off 53 calories. I'm flagging by 50 and have to get off for a rest, just shows how unfit I am.

Scalessayeek · 01/04/2024 10:08

So I weighed myself yesterday, in the 5 weeks my bmi has gone from 42.9 to 39.6.

I've officially lost 21 pounds (4lb this week after no loss the week before).

Very happy with my progress and can see if I stick to this I'll be at a good 7-10 stone loss (much needed!).

I've cut most carbs, monitoring calories and diet, ensuring I hit at least 10,000 steps a day and having a few workouts a week.

Years and years ago I was incredibly lucky to be referred to an NHS dietician. She was lovely and I saw her weekly for 18 months (until her post was scrapped 🙄). I wrote down everything I ate, as accurately as possible, and although over that time I lost about a stone, she was totally mystified by the disconnect between what I was eating and my lack of proper weight loss. Since then I’ve found the only way I can lose weight in any real way is totally cutting out carbs, and even that isn’t really doing it any more.

That’s why I get so very fed up with all the smug ‘just eat less, move more’ types in the world.

Purpledefector · 01/04/2024 10:21

I'm currently on tier 3 - who can't prescribe it because they are waiting for 'the paperwork and guidelines to be issued'
Not sure if that's just my local
Area. Anyway I decided to not wait because .... well a million reasons- am hoping it will be signed off while I'm
Still on tier 3 and then I can get it prescribed. We will see.

Just tried the med express discount codes and I think they must have all expired yesterday. Hoping there’ll be some more soon. Doing my last 2.5 injection tomorrow so need my 5mg in 8 days.

If you went through check out enough to give them an email address they might email you a 15% off discount. I got one of those when I was attempting to reorder.

noclouds · 01/04/2024 10:42

Hi hope it's ok to join this thread.
Started last night, I've had the injections for about 3 weeks and been making excuses as to why I can't take it, but last night I just bit the bullet !

SW is 16st and goal is about 10.5st

I woke up feeling terrible today as have a horrible cold

ObsidianTree · 01/04/2024 10:45

I hear you @Wonkypictureframe. I couldn't lose with a normal diet and restricted calories. The only thing that worked was low carb or meal replacement shakes. Mounjaro has seemed to have helped me lose without having to cut carbs which is a miracle

Hi everyone! I’m SO worried as I’m due to move up 7.5mg next week, but I can’t seem to find it in stock anywhere. Is anyone in a similar boat/have any suggestions? I really want to avoid staying on the 5mg if possible.

FlappyFish · 01/04/2024 11:37

@Keepthepeace82 that is odd from Asda. I have been with them since the beginning and whilst not due to reorder yet (I have 3 doses left in one pen and a fresh one too), it does give the option at the end.

For those asking on 7.5. Not available yet.

JanetSnakeholeMacklin · 01/04/2024 12:01

Fab weight loss @rainbowsandinfinitesparkles !!

Day 4 for me and this morning was the first time I felt any sort of hunger, although it was mild. Had clear protein and slice of toast + peanut butter (the whole earth one with no sugar) and I'm okay. I also did a strength training workout! Focused on back, shoulders and arms and between sets I danced around to the music - DH made a gym in our garage, I wasn't randomly bopping away at a gym with actual people!

Anyway. Hope everyone is enjoying the bank holiday and side effects are few.

Regarding ordering from Asda - I'm going to wait until I'm in my second week before I order the 5mg, so I haven't been through the process. You could always email them if you have questions about ordering - I got an email yesterday saying they do aftercare as part of the price and you can email a doc/pharm anytime.

fairylightprincess · 01/04/2024 12:14

@Keepthepeace82 you just go through the same process as before :) you won’t have to submit any photos.

Hi
Week 2 here- I've kept it a secret from everyone- I'm not sure why either? Anyone else told no one?
I've been on adhd meds for a 2 years that reduce appetite but that's nothing like the effect I'm getting from this. I'm
Actively not wanting food.
I'm noticing that at bedtime I've got reflux and it's uncomfortable to sleep flat. I'm also bloody freezing - reassured to see so many others feel the same!

I've told no-one
Was going to tell my daughter while she was visiting this weekend but actually like having a secret.
My plate wasn't piled up with the roast dinner I made yesterday and I just said I'm trying to be more mindful when eating.
I might tell my family further down the line and I might not 😌
