Success! I feel silly now 🙄

So just about to inject - asda instructions say I need to use a swab to wipe the red seal - but I don't have any swabs. Were we supposed to get these included?

I don't think so.

For my first injection I gave it a wipe on my dressing gown, but haven't done anything since.

Disclaimer : I'm not medically trained

😂

RunningAndSinging · 15/03/2024 21:10

There are no wipes in the box. Bolt sent me some. Boots didn’t even include needles. I expect it is fairly clean already - we never had to wipe the Ozempic/wegovy pens.

Dreadful eating day today - I was away with work and healthy wasn't an option. Dread to think how many calories I've had and it doesn't seem worth it.

I've injected the extra dose tonight and will move my injection day to Friday now in case of side effects from going onto 5mg.

Scalessayeek · 15/03/2024 23:03

Checking in on the new thread. We're away at Center Parcs for some celebrations and I'm sticking to the diet. Woop woop!

Wonkypictureframe · 16/03/2024 07:03

Good to see everyone still feeling positive. I hope dose upping goes well.

I had a glass of wine last night to keep our guest company. They clearly didn’t feel comfortable drinking alone. I’m usually someone who loves a couple of glasses on a Friday night but it took me three hours to drink this one and I wasn’t interested really. That feels amazing.

Whogivesatossedpancake · 16/03/2024 07:29

Day 11 for me and half way into the 2nd dose, no side effects other than constipation. I have a very much reduced appetite but im also having to be mindful about what i eat, not just eating a packet of crisps for example and choosing something healthy instead.

As mentioned by others, MJ has helped turn off the constant thinking about food/hunger/dieting/being fat angst. I've lost 7lbs so far and im really happy with that.

Im interested in how I will feel as the weeks go by and whether the hunger comes back. If not i think i will try to stay at the minimum dose unless advised otherwise.

Has anyone continued with the 2.5mg?

BlackFriYay · 16/03/2024 08:14

Hi all, can I join you?

I've just placed my first order with bolt and I'm awaiting approval. I'm 5 ft 2 and 13 stone after medication associated weight gain (Nortryptiline and propanolol - my appetite and weight have ballooned!)

I have ADHD and I'm a bit scatter brained at the best of times so I'm pleased to have found these threads to follow, I apologise in advance for the inevitable questions about whether I'm doing it right. The loading etc of the pens is a bit daunting and I'm already worried I'll do it wrong and either overdose myself or waste it 🙈

Happy to be here and I'll update with my progress if/when I'm accepted and it arrives!

Namechange25793 · 16/03/2024 09:02

Weigh in day for me. I’m on my 3rd 2.5ml injection.

It’s working! I’ve lost 12 lbs so far. Very chuffed with this. I’m logging everything on MFP and I think that’s the key as I could easily overeat. My calorie goal per day is 1450 (I’m tall).

I don’t feel particularly hungry but I’m still enjoying my food and could still mindlessly eat food that isn’t very nutritious. So I’m being careful to eat nutritionally dense food.

SW 229 lbs (16 stone 5 pounds)
CW 217 lbs (15 stone 7 pounds)

Thank you @ObsidianTree for the link to needles- using the extra dose will help space out my prescriptions across paydays!

We are at Nandos last night and I enjoyed it but stuck to low calorie options. Nando’s is great for healthy eating. I had 1/4 chicken (breast) with the smokey churasco sauce (lush new one), broccoli which they dress with lemon and garlic (generous portion) and rainbow slaw which is lower calorie but much tastier than the normal coleslaw. Added a grilled pineapple ring. All that for under 500 calories and I was stuffed.

zaffa · 16/03/2024 10:13

So I had my first injection last night and I feel amazing! I don't know if it's a bit of a placebo effect (like I know I've taken it so in my head it's working) but I dropped DD at ballet, went to the shop and just felt completely uninterested in the warm bakery smell, the stacks of Easter eggs and the smell of bacon from the hot food counter. I just went to the aisles I wanted and left - there was zero temptation to even go over (and I am known for lingering near Easter eggs as I love them.
I hope this feeling continues! Very slight nausea but that's about it and it's super mild.
How is everyone else doing? Seeing everyone's amazing losses is just fab!
Has anyone made it to the 15mg dose yet? On the asda site it looks like they have availability up to five and then it doesn't mention stock levels - just wondering if it's in stock and how people feel on it.

Week 3 weigh in, just 1lb but that's 10lb overall.

Old me would be delighted with that but I'm weirdly disappointed. Losing 9lb in the first week squewd my expectations I'm afraid!

Anyway 4th injection this morning, then I'll be pleased to move up a level.

I weighed in again this morning and now 12.13, so lost 3lb overnight.

Anyway, 13lb weight loss aligns with how my jeans are fitting, so Im going with that!

FlappyFish · 16/03/2024 10:19

The cutting out of food noise is just magic. I love all the new posters joining us and starting this journey.

Investinmyself · 16/03/2024 10:33

12 lb is amazing in 3 weeks @Namechange25793. Love Nandos broccoli.
I’m day 4. Slept really well again last night which isn’t norm for me in perimenopause. I feel really well.
I’ve been eating protein and veg. No junk. Been having 3 smaller meals a day. I’m logging on nutracheck my calories are much lower than usual.

Cantonet · 16/03/2024 11:08

I've just Injected my first dose.
I lost about 13 kg originally on Saxenda/ Ozempic. Then tried Wegovy at 1.7 which gave me really bad anxiety & an itchy rash plus no effect on weight loss. So I stopped for a while & have put on 7 kg in 3 months.
I seem to have regained a massive sweet tooth. So I'm hoping Mounjaro will help curb that, plus my wine habit 🤞🏼

Soukmyfalafel · 16/03/2024 11:16

I've had two full days of MJ now and it does appear I'm down some lbs, quite significantly so that I think my scales are lying to me. I think I was bloated a lot when I did my weigh in for the application though. It was what made me think 'fuck the money' and order it. I think realistically I'm down a couple of pounds at most, but that is my goal for the week.

I am actually better if I try not to eat and feel less hungry, but i am going to try not to skip meals. I did not feel hungry at all this morning but ate almost half of a bacon sandwich as i felt i should try. Felt more hungry after, but I'm not bothered by it either. I know I am eating less overall. My 'picking' at food mindlessly was very bad before, and it is getting better. I'm expecting my appetite to return by Monday though.

I am tempted to go 6 or 5 1/2 days if I get hungry by then and just get the last of the vial out for a 5th dose like others are doing. That way I don't have two days of of normal appetite.

NoAprilFool · 16/03/2024 11:36

I’ve been approved by Boots and waiting for notification that it’s ready to pick up.
have had a major wobble though and made an appointment with the Dr to talk it through. I’m hoping she’ll be supportive but I take a few medications and I’d like to speak to a real person before going ahead.

My understanding is that Mounjaro is very newly licensed and the pharmacies are stocking up as people move through the doses. No one in the UK should be on 15mg yet if using the product properly - does that make sense?

Glad it’s had such a great effect on you. I totally relate - I am not finding myself tempted by anything (day four, first week) and it’s amazing. I’m meeting a friend for afternoon tea in a cafe this afternoon and genuinely only want to have a coffee. I have zero interest in a cake or even a cheese scone (my usual downfall). Usually I would use this as an opportunity to ‘cheat’.

izzy2076 · 16/03/2024 12:44

Day 5 for me. Sleep still appalling. Down 3 kgs of water weight since last weekend. Just about to try the gym. I lift weights and am curious to see whether I'm going to manage 40kg bench press today, which is usually easy! I take creatine as well to support muscle growth. It might be a good thing for you to look into if you're planning on conserving muscle and weight training.

PeachPoster · 16/03/2024 12:52

Hi all, I'm going up to 5 mg on Monday and hoping this dose will work better for me. I've lost 7lb over the last four weeks so ok but not shifted anything over the last couple of weeks at all. This is fair enough though as I have overeaten at night a few times. On the whole though I definitely think that something is happening and as long as I'm not gaining it feels like success! 😂

BanditsBiscuits · 16/03/2024 12:57

Happy Saturday 😊
I've just done my first dose, slightly later then scheduled as I'd planned to do it first thing this morning.
Unfortunately my carbon monoxide detector went crazy at 4am and now my boiler has been condemned so I got slightly sidetracked! 🙃

Eyebean17 · 16/03/2024 12:58

Day 3 for me. I have noticed that I can control my cravings alot easier and have been sticking to 1500 cals a day which has actually been fairly easy! I feel full after my meals which is crazy as I usually have seconds and then lots of chocolate and stuff afterwards! Will weigh on Thursday!

I’m down 10lb in a month. I haven’t calorie counted or increased my exercise. It’s witchcraft

kitz90 · 16/03/2024 14:01

I’ve just injected my second dose. It took about 50-60 clicks to reach number 1 on the dosing pen.

SW: 13 stone 3
CW: 12 stone 10
Height 5 ft 3

I previously tried Saxenda. It did nothing for me. I put on weight and had very bad side effects.

AgathaMystery · 16/03/2024 14:44

I would agree that mounjaro is the same as saxenda in that the food ‘noise’ stops. It’s weird. I also agree about smalls not being tempting. I did my 1st dose last night. Most obvious thing I have is a super dry mouth - same as saxenda.

ChristmasLightsLover · 16/03/2024 15:26

I have just done my third injection. I need to order my next pen. I started at 2.5.

Does this mean I need to go to 5 for the next one?
Do our bodies adjust to the dosage?
Will I have even less appetite with a higher dose?

Not sure what to go with... any thoughts appreciated.

Hope everyone is doing ok and having a good weekend!
