Got my time of the month two days early this month. Last month it was 3 days early. So that's one of the downsides of mounjaro I guess! Very annoying! Hope it goes back to normal soon...or just away would be preferable!

So, first week done and I've lost 2.6kg/5.7lbs which I'm very happy with, obviously won't be that much every week. Just done my second dose. Managed to put the needle in the sharps box without stabbing myself this time!

Sulleybear · 27/03/2024 06:49

So week 2 complete and 3.4lb off making my grand total 10.4lb 😍
I feel like a different person, my mood is better, my aches and pains I’ve been suffering with have reduced significantly.
I’m even feeling brave enough to start going back to the gym next week.
I’m so glad I took the plunge and started Mounjaro, for me it is worth every penny!

NC543210 · 27/03/2024 07:07

Fab... I was starting to wonder if I'd even injected it properly.
I'll sit tight and keep going with the willpower.

Week five weigh in and another disappointing week for me. One pound off in the past fortnight!

I don't feel 'balanced' like I did in the first few weeks, if that makes sense. Do I need electrolytes? I haven't used them to date.

I am still very thrilled to have lost over a stone. The other vital thing is that with diets I always have a great start and then that stops and I give up. I am not doing that on MJ. I'll just keep swimming 👌🏻

SW: 13st 10
After 1 week: Feb 28th 13st 2 (- 8 pounds)
After 2 weeks: March 6th 12st 12 (- 4 pounds)
After 3 weeks: March 13th 12st 9 (-3 pounds)
After 4 weeks: March 20th 12st 9 (-0 pounds)
After 5 weeks: March 28th 12st 8 (-1 pounds)

Grand total: 16 pounds total loss (1st 2Ib)

ObsidianTree · 27/03/2024 07:51

@Thebaldprimadonna did you go up to 5mg in your 5th dose? Are you yet to start 5mg? Maybe when you are on 5mg you will start losing?

But 1st 2lbs in 5 weeks is still a great loss so still be proud. Maybe you just need the 5mg to start losing again.

Well done @RagzRebooted and @Sulleybear for your losses :)

I did my second injection yesterday and lost 3lb in my first week which I'm happy with because I didn't make a huge effort in terms of healthy eating and exercise. Obviously going forwards I might have to be a bit more aware of what I'm eating to continue the weight loss.
For me I felt hungry for the first day or two after injecting but on day three something kicked in. I started to feel like I couldn't take another bite part way through meals and sweet things didn't feel as tempting. It was subtle but definitely there.
Yesterday I felt ravenous even after injecting at 9am but have woken this morning with no appetite so it's kicked in more quickly this time. I seem to get a slight headache and achy neck and shoulders afterwards for a day or so but no nausea or anything.
It's encouraging to read how well everyone has been doing.

JanetSnakeholeMacklin · 27/03/2024 08:17

I've seen some people say that you should inject after eating protein/drinking a protein shake to reduce side effects. Does anyone do this?

Priority1234 · 27/03/2024 08:22

Hello! Thought I'd check into the new thread on my third injection day.

SW: 16st 4
CW: 15st 5

So close to a stone in 2 weeks - I wish I'd had this drug earlier!

AgathaMystery · 27/03/2024 08:34

Morning all. I’m 8lb down after 12days. Not too shabby.

Stickthatupyourdojo · 27/03/2024 08:49

Official weigh day for me.

SW: 12 stone (5 foot 2)
1st week: 11 stone 11
2nd week: 11 stone 9

Hoping for 11 7 or less next week but do have an Easter weekend away in between. Going to attempt it alcohol free as that definitely seems to help 🤞🏼

Next week I am going to do the remaining 2.5 plus hopefully make it 5 by using the dregs also.

@Thebaldprimadonna

Don't lose heart!

Often what can happen on any diet is you'll see a BIG loss the first week, or the first couple. Most of this, as most know, is what is called "water weight" (your body uses up energy that is stored in your muscles, this energy comes along with a lot of water stored there too).

Over the next few weeks your body adjusts to the new diet and it can then look like you're not losing any weight when you actually are losing fat and weight, it's just covered up by regaining some of the lost water weight. If you persevere and are in a deficit it should pick up to a normal rate of 1-2 pounds a week.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 27/03/2024 09:03

@Thebaldprimadonna well done on the loss though. I'm struggling too since going onto the 5mg.
My weigh in isn't until Friday but I'd put weight on again this morning 🙄.

Have you noticed any difference in your clothes? I'm still finding my trousers tight despite over a stone lost.
I tried on a dozen tops and dresses last night and 9 were too big, so I must be seeing changes, just not on the scales!

ObsidianTree · 27/03/2024 09:29

Well done for all the weight losses @Stickthatupyourdojo@AgathaMystery @Priority1234 @shutthefrontdoors ...and anyone else I might have missed!

Some great losses each week. So encouraging for all

Those not losing much, just give it time. Also try drinking more water. I think adding more water has helped me :)

Had my first injection yesterday. Felt quite lightheaded after an hour or two which was a bit dodge as I was driving at the time! Think I'll make sure I don't have to go anywhere for a few hours next time, guessing caused by a drop in blood sugar?

Not sure what it is as have felt a bit "spacey" ever since too, anyone else had that?

Ate pretty normally but did get full halfway through dinner and gave rest to husband, but that happens sometimes anyhow.

I drink far too much, one of the things I'm hoping this will help with as it seems to be the main factor in my fatness, that and the snacking that follows it! The rest of my diet is fairly good and I don't really eat sugar. I did have some wine last night but less than I normally would and, other than one cracker and bit of cheese, didn't snack so that bodes well. Also got tired earlier than usual so can always send myself off to bed so don't eat and booze!

Going to use this to get the wine habit under control, want to get it down a couple of glasses on one weekend night a week and special occasions only.
Edited for typos!

Hi @lurkylurk I too am a wine monster. I did my third jab last night and also hoping to curb that as well as the snacks. So far I've found it much easier to swerve the food but not the drink so I'm making more of an effort as I have definitely noticed better losses when drinking less.

@ElizaJ74

When is best to take the aloe vera? I bought some but was wondering whether to take it at night or in the morning?

I take mine with my evening meal and I take magnesium citrate before bed. But I've been using magnesium since the start of menopause

@ElizaJ74

Thanks, I was thinking evening, waiting to see if it's needed! I do often take magnesium in the evenings too and I believe I have some magnesium citrate.

Hi there! I’ve been following this thread with interest as I really want to try MJ but I experienced quite severe depression when I used saxenda and wondered if anyone had experienced this when using Mounjaro? Thanks in advance xx

@Stickthatupyourdojo

Don't tell me that 😂.

Have heard lovely stories of people just not wanting to drink anymore at all and was hoping the magic was true!

I've seen some people say that you should inject after eating protein/drinking a protein shake to reduce side effects. Does anyone do this?

I've only taken 1 dose so far but that's what I did and I didn't have any side effects (apart from a fuzzy headache that cleared with some electrolytes)
Tonight will be my 2nd dose and hopefully that will continue

Stickthatupyourdojo · 27/03/2024 10:05

@lurkylurk I am hoping next week when I go up to 5mg I magically don't want wine Grin you may find it easy to swerve it's probably just my terrible wine will power!

ElizaJ74 · 27/03/2024 10:08

So today was my 1st complete week and weigh in day
I've lost 6lbs and 2 inches off my stomach 🥳
I've had very little in terms of side effects and hope tonight's 2nd jab continues in the same way
SW 16 st 1lbs
CW 15 st 9lbs

My first pen is being delivered today - I'm partly excited and partly terrified. Currently 12.8, heaviest I've ever been.5'3"I'm wanting to mostly reset my diet I think - boredom eating is a habit that I need to get rid of. And wine. Is it easy to use? I've looked at a couple of videos, but they seem to be American and I don't know if the pen is the same. Will find out in about 3 hours I guess if the post is on time. What's the advice on timing? Do I start first thing in the morning, or later in the evening?(edited to add paragraphs. Which didn't work...)
