Husband dislikes my mother of the bride dress choices, am I wrong?

Husband hates the dresses I loved - mob btw! He says the colour is wrong, the shape doesn’t suit. I felt fantastic in them ☹️. Ditching dh isn’t an option. Are they awful or is he being unreasonable?

Sorry op, I agree with the majority. First dress better than second but you can do so much better. Defo not navy for a spring wedding.

Love the back of them. But the fronts are VERY matronly. And do make you look a little dumpy.

Get yourself over to the 'Style and Beauty' ladies, they'll suggest loads that are far better.

They are not shouting ‘spring wedding’ to me and they don’t really suit .

Sorry, I don’t think the fit is flattering on you, and I’d go for a bit more colour.

I'm team DH. The first one is better, but for a spring wedding Navy is too dark.

My mother wore navy at our June wedding and it looked dreadful and frumpy. She'd have looked far better in something lighter coloured.

I really don't like the big bow. It swamps you. It looks fussy and too much, hides the shape of the dress actually and you have a good figure. Get a dark blue sequin clutch instead (not too big)

Does the dress fit you exactly... the right lenght? would that make a difference.

Lose the gloves - too Royal Family circa 1980s
and it shortens your arms for no reason. Why do you even need them.. Get some delicate bracelets instead, some silver mixed with gold.

The shoes don't match at all.. Also quite a fussy pattern on shoes at the front. More suitable for a summer dress. It would probably be more elegant to have the same colour shoes. maybe covered at the front, kitten heel, slingbacks, If you went for strappy, then just horizontal straps in a matching colour would look more together.

If its an indoor or mostly glam evening type of wedding.. I think it would be good. If its an out in the sunshine or beach wedding.. not quite the right theme.
But Victoria Beckham when through a spell of wearing dark Navy dresses to weddings... so its not that out of the park .

But if you are in a lot of minds about it.. maybe keep looking.

Sorry I'm with your husband, I don't like them at all. You look to have a fab shape and could wear something much nicer and which shows it off a bit. The colour is very dark. Your colouring would suit a brighter colour. And as for the gloves...

Not for a spring wedding - far too dull.

Your hair looks lovely. I really like the way you have styled it. Your figure looks trim. Please don’t wear either of those dresses they are ghastly in style and colour.I also think the hat looks very dated.

Hard to tell in the pictures if they are black or navy but i would never wear black to a wedding. I think the length is wrong, they are too long. And what is the weird wrap thing? Would be better off with knee or mid-calf length with a structured jacket. This is what my Mum wore for my wedding. I think this duck egg colour works well for most complexions and it's ideal for a wedding.

That's a winter wedding/funeral. A spring wedding needs lightness and colour.

Navy in itself isn’t a bad choice but the waistline on the first and the neckline on the second are doing nothing for you. You have a great budget. Is navy a couple you are drawn to?

It’s a spring wedding in London, these dresses look so dull and dowdy.

you can do way better than this. I’m team H on this, the dresses are a massive no.

with your colouring you could go for something way more cheerful and celebratory, these look funereal
