Husband dislikes my mother of the bride dress choices, am I wrong?

Husband hates the dresses I loved - mob btw! He says the colour is wrong, the shape doesn’t suit. I felt fantastic in them ☹️. Ditching dh isn’t an option. Are they awful or is he being unreasonable?

If you have a John Lewis by you they do a free (and in my opinion) great personal shopper experience, and should be lots of lovely Spring choices there.

How old are you. Very old fashioned looks like the sort of thing Queen Camila would wear.
Not a spring wedding colour at all.
Do you normally wear modern styles when you go out in the evening. I wonder why you chose something so formal.

There are dresses out there which would be much much flattering.

They just look like the dress is wearing you rather than the other way around :( The first one is a bit too long and swamps you, the second one is just horrible - doesn’t fit and doesn’t flatter. You look like you have a great figure and they do nothing for you.

i think you have a great sense of style OP but can find something better!

The navy overall just isn't working for you, I know it's a city spring wedding but the navy is just too dark.

Maybe a royal blue or an emerald green ?

Looking at your neck, arms and back you are much younger than me but the dress with the ' pearls ' would even make me look frumpy.

You want to look special - you are a part of the wedding party.

I do agree with him though, you've got a lovely figure and these dresses aren't doing anything for you. I think the colour is too dark to be appropriate, it'll look black in pictures.

If you go to a dressmaker and have the 1st one made to fit you it should look very elegant. The pearly neck one is grim.
The navy colour is very classy imo and infinitely better than fussy florals and insipid pastels. I would accessorise with orange or deep raspberry.

Having done this myself recently, would highly recommend NOT looking for traditional ‘MOB’ wear unless you want to look matronly. Spring wedding I’d be thinking paler colours to match the theme of the wedding with a fabulous hat and matching bag!

£700!!! Can you go somewhere and have Stylist rather than a wedding shop? Please don't wear navy to a spring wedding!

the dresses don’t fit you so are unflattering. I think you need good underwear and a lighter colour and something that fits.

I would actually say that the problem with those dresses, style aside, is that the waists are hitting you in the wrong place - they're too low for you, so the dresses don't sit right, and I say that as someone with long legs and a short torso, so I have the same issue with a lot of dresses. If you have a really excellent tailor, they can lift them from the shoulder, but it's expensive and they have to be really good.

Re the gloves- the OP has said several times they were just so the dresses didn't get damaged while she was trying them on. If you click on 'see all' you can read the OP's posts and not keep repeating the same pointless thing over and over.

The pearls around the neckline made me think of Tudor style gowns. Maybe you could wear this OP? 😄

OP you've got a lovely figure and gorgeous hair. You could find something spectacular on you. It's not either of these dresses, even of they were to fit properly. Why not try a personal stylist and see how you go, they're usually brilliant. Then get the dress nip tucked to fit perfectly, when you find it, if need be.
