Just that - let me know please ✨

I think they're all a waste of time and money. Especially when in little naff organza bags etc.

gemloving · 31/07/2022 16:54

@Dogtooth it's so hard to find something good 😅 that's why I thought I ask on here!

Don't. Spend the extra on food. Or yourselves!

Don't bother then.

Another vote for 'waste of thought and money, most of which will be abandoned at the venue'. Am amazed anyone bothers with them anymore.

Hexahop · 31/07/2022 16:55

Scratchcards or shots are a favourite!

Autumnwater87 · 31/07/2022 16:56

Best one was probably a little note saying we have donated to a specific charity close to their family instead of a wedding favour. No one needs them they are usually tat

M340 · 31/07/2022 16:56

Little mini glass bottles of vodka. Equivalent of one shot each. We all did it after the meal and toasted to bride & groom and then the music and party started. Was great fun!

Glass bottles ordered. Ordered personalised stickers that said 'we tied the knot, take a shot' and it was homemade strawberry vodka. (As in didn't grow the potatoes for the vodka but the strawberries were put in with some sugar by someone who makes vodka for a living)

Relatively cheap and so much fun!

blitzen · 31/07/2022 16:56

Miniature booze

MrsMoastyToasty · 31/07/2022 16:57

A large cookie with my name on it. Our table was the last to be served, so it was eaten very quickly!

NCHammer2022 · 31/07/2022 16:58

Individual chocolate bars. Kept everyone going while waiting for the food to come out!

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 31/07/2022 16:58

Herbs growing in terracotta pots.
The pots had names chalked on, and served as place names, table decorations and favours.
The bride grew them.

thefirstmrsrochester · 31/07/2022 16:58

You can buy wedding favours from some national charities, more of a donation than a favour but if you are going to spend on favours, I’d let it be of benefit.

Or whisky miniatures.

JennyForeigner · 31/07/2022 16:59

Hopefully the ones we gave out :-)

Little jars of homemade smoky harissa, to go with a home-catered Middle Eastern wedding.

whiteroseredrose · 31/07/2022 16:59

None! I always leave them behind.

Itsthelookitsthelook · 31/07/2022 17:00

Nothing. Who wants to keep track of or carry a tiny box of chocs/candle/badge/packet of seeds/organza bag of white all through out a wedding and evening do. I inevitably would also be keeping track of anything given to my H too due to having a handbag to put it in.
Just don't waste your money. Spend it on an extra drink for your guests, or a bit of entertainment or something.

BringACarrot · 31/07/2022 17:05

I've never met/seen a guest who really loved their favours. It's always extra faff to carry or keep. Only the couple ever seem to rate the favours imo.
Charity donations or scratchcards are probably best.

Whataretheodds · 31/07/2022 17:08

MrsMoastyToasty · Today 16:57 large cookie with my name on it. Our table was the last to be served, so it was eaten very quickly!

NCHammer2022 · Today 16:58I ndividual chocolate bars. Kept everyone going while waiting for the food to come out!

These 2 comments confirm that you are better off spending the money on enough booze, and food early enough that people aren't chewing their arms off by the time they sit down.

tortiecat · 31/07/2022 17:08

Love a scratchcard or chocolate / fudge

Maireas · 31/07/2022 17:09

@BringACarrot - they're just a nuisance and a faff to carry around. Once we got some quince jam or somesuch. Waste of money.
Mostly they get left behind, so as pp have said, don't bother.

Savvet · 31/07/2022 17:10

Homemade fudge, it was absolutely gorgeous.

upliftingtwisting · 31/07/2022 17:11

We had scratch cards.

forlornlorna1 · 31/07/2022 17:12

Another one loving the booze miniatures

Catcatcat12 · 31/07/2022 17:12

Dislike all favours except edible ones, as I don’t like clutter in general.

Worst ones I have received: shot glass engraved with the date and names of the couple, mini bottle of olive oil, tote bag with date and name of couple.

Maireas · 31/07/2022 17:12

@Whataretheodds - my thoughts exactly. Spend the money on more food, especially if (as is often the case, there's a long wait). It'll be appreciated!

ShirleyPhallus · 31/07/2022 17:13

Agree with everyone, only stuff that’s edible is any good. With the exception of scratch cards, that’s quite good

Worst things: anything personalised to B&G that you would ever display in your own home - shot glasses, fridge magnets etc. Seed packets rubbish. Anything artsy / crafty like little sewing kits, or moisturiser or lip balm. Anything in kit form - a hangover recovery kit for example.

Big bonus awful points for anyone who does wedding favours by sex.

(But I look forward to all the comments saying “I gave our personalised egg cups with our faces on one side and the date and our names on the other and my friends ALL say they’re the best favours they’ve ever received and use them every day!!”)
