1st March ~ start of a new season. After the rather wet winter for some areas, let's hope for something drier over the next few months.

Some thoughts from TheWeatherOutlook.

Very heavy rain here in S Bucks. The gardens are happy. Looking rainy for this week which I can tolerate but hopefully perks up next week to low to mid 20s (and not back to the crazy temperatures).

Lovely storm with hail and thunder and lightning. Typical it’s the day I don’t drive into work.

HoraceCope · 03/06/2026 06:30

storm rain, and a wonderful rainbow

Forecast not looking great for the foreseeable? Since we only have three months of summer it would be nice if the whole of June wasn’t a complete wash out! The warm up that I saw mid June seems to have disappeared..

I have just spent 3h on a small island in the north sea. Bloody freezing. I had a wool jumper, waterproof coat, gilet, hat and gloves. Still cold! Just had a big bowl of tommy soup to warm me up.
Might light the fire 🔥

Looking at the forecast it improves next weekend - we can hope!

Delatron · 07/06/2026 12:45

Yeah I think this morning some of the models changed and there is hope again from next weekend. Fingers crossed!

Met office has issued a power cut warning for the whole of the south coast, apparently it's blowing a hoolie.

Pixiedust1234 · 08/06/2026 10:58

Once, far back in the mists of time, you had no way of knowing whether you needed a jumper or umbrella that day. Then weather reporters appeared after the evening news and seemed reasonably reliable which was exciting, almost life changing, and people took umbrellas or not based on that information. Then one day Michael Fish made a whoopsie, a pretty big one. Since then the forecasting has slowly become more unreliable and at times just plain wrong, and despite all this technology we are back to the "stick your hand out the door" method.

My hand says it's drizzly and miserable and won't change for the foreseeable future. What does everyone else's hands say?

socks1107 · 08/06/2026 11:16

@Pixiedust1234 this is accurate 🤣. Today it’s freezing, winter duvet back on, warm work clothes back on. I too don’t see this changing but there’s got to be hope

InMySpareTime · 08/06/2026 12:17

Here it started out very rainy but is now bright and breezy. I have washing out!
Made me remember how nice it is in the sunshine, more please.

justasking111 · 08/06/2026 21:24

Bucketing down this morning, then sunshine and very breezy. Now looking out of the window. Black heavily laden clouds over Snowdonia approaching.

Looks like Thursday will be an absolute wash out, at least today was sunny between showers.
