1st March ~ start of a new season. After the rather wet winter for some areas, let's hope for something drier over the next few months.

Some thoughts from TheWeatherOutlook.

It has indeed been lovely and like gingercat02, washing and gardening has been in order today. Tomorrow looks like it could be warmer, with temperatures in the region of 17-19C for some places.

(Pixiedust1234 ~ it's a lovely orange sun + hope you feel better soon!)

Ahhh thank you, you must have read my mind because I was wondering if this lovely weather would stay for the weekend so I could cut the grass. Then I shook myself, told myself not to be so silly, and asked myself why I would assume the weekend weather would be the same as the weather when kids are stuck in school and most adults are working and nobody could enjoy it 🙄😂

justasking111 · 19/03/2026 23:08

Having been stuck in hospital since Monday. I'm home now. I'd like to sit out on the decking tomorrow, complete with compression stockings 😁

GloriaSmud · 20/03/2026 06:55

Pixiedust1234 ~ yes, I forecast a lot of lawn mowing/gardening over the next few days but things begin to slowly change over the weekend, especially for the NW, so it's maybe an idea to get the lawn mowing done early before it does.

justasking111 ~ you'll be able to do that today! It looks like you missed the 20.9C that N. Wales reached on Wednesday but there's more nice weather on the way over the weekend (so more chances to sit out ~ that'll help with your recovery!) There's a weather front that slowly moves in from the NW over Saturday and Sunday but it's very slow (and I think looks quite a weak one as well) so if it does reach Wales, the south/SE and there's any rain on it, it shouldn't arrive until Sunday evening.

Netweather's thoughts on the next few days...

High pressure holds with fine spring sunshine before rain edges in from the northwest at the weekend

High pressure brings a settled spell with fine, dry weather lasting into the weekend, though not as warm as Wednesday's 20.9C in North Wales.

Thanks! I'll try and get up early to get my shop runs done before coming back to mow. Already did the first cut last week but it's still looking rough like a field rather than a lawn.

justasking111 I hope you feel better soon Flowers

Lit the fire this afternoon. Such a big temperature drop.

Delatron · 24/03/2026 17:42

Found you again! I guess the weather hasn’t been ok my mind so much.

Gosh it’s got cold again today with the wind.

I’d love some sun and dry weather over the Easter weekend!

justasking111 · 24/03/2026 19:07

We've had torrential rain, massive gusts of wind all day will last into tomorrow afternoon. It's evil.

The canaries has taken another battering too. I think Cyprus did last week. It's a rough spring for Europe.

GloriaSmud · 25/03/2026 07:23

Looks like we're in for a day of blustery rain showers, wintry showers for the north and frost for many tonight.

And looks like it stays unsettled over the next few days...

Went out for a run at 3.30 it was bright and sunny, by 4pm we were in a bus shelter escaping the hailstones and sleet, by the time I got home (North Manchester) at 5pm it was sunny again 😮we've had every season today 😁

For those looking towards Easter, it's looking a bit 'all seasons' at the moment. Chilly, unsettled at times (might be wintry showers, especially in the north/Scotland/over hills) but there should be some sun mixed in there as well.

Thanks @GloriaSmud it was slightly optimistic of me to be hoping for a bit of warmth! So sick of this cold though. Those few days we had where it was a bit warmer was such a lovely respite.

justasking111 ~ the Middle East too has had a stormy Spring ~ from Netweather yesterday...

Fascinating. I wonder if the desert will spring into bloom as Lanzarote has. Nature is so resilient.

gingercat02 · 27/03/2026 07:31

We always have a little "false spring" like last week in the north.
It's my birthday in 3 weeks, and it sometimes snows.

GloriaSmud · 27/03/2026 07:42

@Delatron ~ it might get in the range of 10-15C but I guess as Easter's go, it isn't looking too bad and just having some sun (hopefully with a bit of warmth in it!) would be nice!

And gingercat02, they say that you're more likely to have snow at Easter/around that time of year. March/April can be very nice but it can also be very much 'all seasons in one day!'

Desert areas are always lovely when they've had unexpected rain ~ suddenly exploding with colour as everything germinates!

Yes @GloriaSmud some sun and dry weather would be lovely.

My ILs are just back from Lanzarote and were saying how bizarre it was to see the usual dark volcanic landscape covered with flowers! The locals are loving it apparently.

Pixiedust1234 · 28/03/2026 19:20

Absolutely gorgeous sunshine here today... until the hailstorms happened. Twice 😩

I'm hoping Easter will be decent weather as this year it's near DC's birthday and she normally has sunny and warm weather for it.

Delatron · 30/03/2026 08:25

Bit grumpy about this rubbish weather. We’re stuck at home all Easter due to GCSE revision. It would have been nice to get out in the garden. Especially after the winter we’ve had.

DS is in the middle of his finals. He hasn't mentioned coming home for Easter. We haven't asked. What's the point.

GloriaSmud · 30/03/2026 12:36

It's looking like a bit of everything being thrown at us this Easter. Warm-ish for most of England/Wales, some sun but also unsettled at times. Scotland - the same but chilly with the chance of wintry showers/snow for the hills.
