Today is the start of meteorological Autumn and the weather this week, certainly looks like it's going to match up to the new season! As for the rest of Autumn, there aren't any strong signals either way as to what to expect but here are some thoughts from….

It’s 25 degrees here in London where I’m on a day visit and feels hot! I’m back in my summer dress, after relishing the cooler autumnal weather.

Looking forward to the expected big drop in temperatures arriving soon!

I’m also excited about the vibrant autumn colours of trees

Now the lore here is lots of acorns a very cold hard winter ahead.

DS moved to W Yorkshire in 2019. He's still waiting for a Herriot winter.

Ah yes, those 'All Creatures Great and Small' wintry scenes across the Dales!

DS is still waiting his partner assures him it used to be the norm. 😁👍

Today's forecast from TheWeatherOutlook mentions 'frost' for some places and the possibility of 'wintry showers/snow' over Scottish hills, over the weekend.

It’s been up to 25 degrees here in SE London today I’ve been back in my summer clothes, it’s been glorious! ☀️

Lordy! I've just checked our forecast and we are due a low of 3 degrees on Sunday night here on the NE coast of England. I fear for my dahlias.

Ah I used to live in Yorkshire and we did used to have some epic snow. But I don’t think that is the norm these days.

I enjoyed today! Lovely to have a bit of warm sun.

To be fair he's probably too far west in Yorkshire to see a really good hard winter. Keighly isn't the same climate as Thirsk!

It's been biblical all day. Still tipping down now. We're on a hill with steps down to the house. The steps were like a waterfall. Got soaked just going to the neighbours house. She had to lend me another cardigan, mine was soaking wet, my hair was dripping. Anyone else have 💦💦💦

It's been heavy rain since lunchtime here. Apparently the next week is going to be dry though. I may finally get my fence painted!

It's lovely here too but a chilly 11C. I went out in the garden earlier and was thinking 'Brrrr, I'm going back inside!'

I said that to DH. We have two loads on the line as there's a stiff northerly to get it dry!

We'll do more to put out later as well. Got to make the most of it.

It felt bitterly cold in Tynemouth this morning so I was glad I wore my cashmere gloves, vest and thick hoodie. The winter bedding is now on and I have my fleecy pyjamas out, too. Low of 3 degrees forecast here tonight so extra blankets are also now on standby!

Did anyone have frost this morning? We just escaped it with 2 degrees. Hats, scarves and gloves on today. It made DD feel so festive she put Now that's what I call Christmas on in the car!

It was 6C here first thing. Time to bring the tender plants indoors before they catch a chill. They've all had a good summer outdoors and seem to have enjoyed it.

It was 1° here. Didn't see any frost while walking to the station though. It was misty across the fields, however.

It was 4C here when I got up this morning and it's now 10C. Lovely sunshine again and it looks ok the rest of the week as well ~ chilly nights for some but otherwise, some decent sunshine amounts! 🌞

Looks settled until the weekend. FB memories popped up this morning. 13 years ago son his friend were boat fishing in teeshirts. Glorious sunshine
