Start of meteorological Autumn (September 1st)

Today is the start of meteorological Autumn and the weather this week, certainly looks like it's going to match up to the new season! As for the rest of Autumn, there aren't any strong signals either way as to what to expect but here are some thoughts from….

I can’t make my mind up about heating on or off. Which is admittedly is ridiculous in nearly December but the low is currently predicted to be 10degrees and we’re expecting a high of 14 tomorrow.

Ours is just led by thermostat. I actually think the house will be colder in the rain than the bright sunshine with the lower temps!

For me, it's the cumulative effect of the weather, so in my old stone floored little bungalow, it still feels bitterly cold this morning even though its 12 degrees. I think it's because yesterday was -2 and for the week prior to that it's been cold, dull and wet so it means the house never actually ges the chance to warm up until Spring, probably. Plus I have ancient Windows which are next on my list to replace.

Anyone else added the NetWeather Santa shaker app?

No but sounds interesting. I'm waiting for the NASA santa app though.

Weather warnings for today and the next few days. Today is looking miserable ~ dull, wet and chilly. Not my favourite sort of Autumn day!

Thanks @GloriaSmud Saturday sport was thoroughly wet and miserable this morning. It’s cleared up now though, earlier than I though. And tomorrow looks sunny in the SE so I’ll appreciate that!

It cleared up here as well and we had some unexpected sunny spells this afternoon for an hour or two.

This coming week, there are some weather warnings for ice and rain (including an Amber one for some areas of Wales on Monday) but later on in the week, there should be some decent spells of sunshine. The sort of winter weather I like!

Ah that gives me hope. I really don’t really mind cold as long as we have sunshine!!
