Something to really watch. GFS model is really looking a bit crackers next week with high temps of perhaps 35c mid week and night minima in the mid 20s. I'll post more tomorrow, but it doesn't look like the traditional school holiday cool down

@OhYouBadBadKitten thanks for all your info. I’ve altered dc activities and also booked (air conditioned) cinema tickets for Thursday. Not looking forward to the nighttime though.

What’s the weekend and next week looking like for Pembrokeshire? My weather app says 19 degrees and wet Sad

OhYouBadBadKitten · 22/07/2019 14:51

I'll come back to the thread properly later (and can look at the weekend then)
I'm really glad that people are finding it useful :)

The met office have gone to a level 3 alert.

I'm starting to see speculation on Twitter and elsewhere that we may see records being broken. I'm not sure about that, but we shall see.

I'll have to update the thunderstorm thread later too.

This weather is awful for my asthma. The pollen mixed with high pollution levels and humidity floors me. I've got steroids and inhalers at the ready.

stayathomegardener · 22/07/2019 15:55

So should we cut some more hay @OhYouBadBadKitten?
Feels very humid and thundery currently in Cheshire.

WatcherOfTheNight · 22/07/2019 17:12

Always useful but also lovely @OhYouBadBadKitten .
You are an asset to the boards Wine

OhYouBadBadKitten · 22/07/2019 17:15

Crikey, that's a responsibility to answer stayathome!

If it were me (and I'm not a farmer!) I would be doing so tomorrow, because although storms are very hit and miss even when they form, I think the possibility of storms is high enough tomorrow night that things could get pretty wet and flattened if you were unlucky. At the moment I'd put you in a risk area for storms.

Weekend weather for Pembrokeshire. At the moment I'd say cool and showery, but give me a nudge later in the week.

Sad thank you

Emmabryant123 · 22/07/2019 17:44

Shit .
I am dreading this
It's looking to be short lived though right ?
The cool down is Friday ?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 22/07/2019 18:02

Yes, cool down back to more normal July temps Friday.

Weird weather in Edinburgh earlier. Really humid, windy, cloudy and 24C, which is roasting for here.
Sunnyy now, but still having gusts of nearly 40mph Hmm

OhYouBadBadKitten · 22/07/2019 19:21

It feels very tropical when it gets like that doesn't it.

21° is coat weather!! Are you having a giraffe? I don't wear a coat above about 14°. Wearing one layer (no bra) today and it's far too hot at 27° at 7pm Sad.

CatteStreet · 22/07/2019 19:28

Following with interest from Germany, where the German weather service is predicting 41 Shock for the extreme west of the country on Thursday. Over where we are it'll be more like 33-35, which is bad enough but getting depressingly regular.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 22/07/2019 19:29

I hadn't realised that we may break the all time night high temperature this week.

Catte it is once again quite extraordinary. Paris looks to reach 42c, previous record 40.4c

Bloody hell. Shock

We seem to be having more and more summers with repeated spells of low-mid 30s (over here). 2003 was standout, but since 2015 it seems to have been constant heat and drought (with the possible exception of 2017).

daisyboocantoo · 22/07/2019 20:03

Hit 39 today in Switzerland

YesQueen · 22/07/2019 20:48

Lancashire here and I have a banging headache, feels very close

Mistigri · 22/07/2019 20:53

My daughter lives in Paris and she bailed today. She's staying with a friend of mine who lives near Dunkirk, where it will be hot but not unbearable (33). Maximums of 42 and minimums of 25 in a 16m2 studio don't bear thinking about.

We are near Toulouse where it is due to reach 40 tomorrow. I'm totally over summer, roll on autumn.

Nicehotel · 22/07/2019 21:10

and some folk still don't 'believe' in climate change 😪

Paramicha · 22/07/2019 21:26

YesQueen

We are Lancashire too / Greater Manc.

It's been really hot and windy today, really strange. i wasn't just a breeze but a strong wind that could knock you off balance.

ListenLinda · 22/07/2019 22:23

30 degrees where I am Thursday. Bloody hell

Nicehotel · 22/07/2019 23:01

Could reach 37 in some places Thursday ..
