Something to really watch. GFS model is really looking a bit crackers next week with high temps of perhaps 35c mid week and night minima in the mid 20s. I'll post more tomorrow, but it doesn't look like the traditional school holiday cool down

I dont feel safe in the 30+ heat. I womt go out unless urgent and I wont take thr little ones out either.

Lounge is still 28 but yesterday it said 34 so its improved a lil

Hairglitter · 26/07/2019 13:44

It's humid in London but WAY less warm than yesterday.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 26/07/2019 16:46

It looks like yesterday provisionally may be the hottest ever recorded temperature (rather than 'just' the hottest ever July temperature recorded)

Met office reckons it's 26 where I am currently, but my thermometer indoors (in my hallway, the coolest part of my house) says 29.9

The sun has gone in and it feels much cooler out so I'm guessing that's a clear sign to open up the windows now.

Hairglitter · 26/07/2019 17:53

According to the daily mirror it'll be mid thirties all the way through August. Dear god please say that's not true 😭😭😭😭

hair the Mirror use a company who quite literally make weather stories up.

Better not br true for august

OhYouBadBadKitten · 29/07/2019 18:28

It's official. Thursday was the highest ever UK recorded temperature.

Well, well done us for surviving it. Let's not break any more records eh? (forlorn hope)

I just saw that OYBBK and was about to post here about it. It was unbearably hot, I'm not surprised we broke the record.

That is insane
I am v glad this week is cooler
Mostly 21c predicted for the week

PickAChew · 29/07/2019 19:47

This week is lovely. I'll happily take the drizzle that comes along with it, thank you.

I overheard someone complaining about Saturday's weather (started out awful but just drizzle and mizzle through the afternoon) and after last week's unbearable heat I had to exercise a lot of restraint!

colouringinpro · 29/07/2019 22:08

oybbk

any idea what this weekend and next week in a)Gower and b)Peak District look like??? I'm camping and so are friends in each place. Do we need to bring inflatable boats or lashings of sun cream? Grin

Sorry, got distracted, they've been updated to extend eastwards. The main risk is for surface flash flooding.

I’m in Gower right now and in a fleece. This time last week I was melting in central London.

colouringinpro · 30/07/2019 23:46

thanks so much oybbk that's what I was starting to think too. Bugger!

bestiswest to be honest, in Bucks today it's poured all day and 17 degrees. Hope it picks up for you this week!

BestIsWest · 31/07/2019 18:01

colouring it’s gorgeous here today, lovely and sunny. Typical Welsh/British weather.
