Something to really watch. GFS model is really looking a bit crackers next week with high temps of perhaps 35c mid week and night minima in the mid 20s. I'll post more tomorrow, but it doesn't look like the traditional school holiday cool down

38 sounds hellish. We're forecast a high of 27, feels like 27, tomorrow. Boys are autistic and have trouble regulating their temperature. DS1's room is south facing and he refuses to shut his curtains, so it ends up unbearable. He has a little fan, which we use mostly for the ioniser, but I might break out the fan heater which has a cold option, tomorrow.

Only low 20s here, today, but a really uncomfortable warm, wind and sticky regardless. DS2 begged me for a bath, mid afternoon and took himself to bed early.

We're all hypermobile and I suffer from blood pressure drops in the heat, so no doubt they do, too. We're all also really prone to heat rashes. They're both as scabby as hell, where they've been scratching.

Thanks kitten!
A little more hay cut so fingers crossed.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 23/07/2019 06:33

It was 27 here yesterday, supposed to be 30 today. Not really looking forward to Thursday’s 33/34

Delatron · 23/07/2019 06:54

We have 36 predicted for Thursday. Could be record breaking. We’re quite close to Heathrow which tends to be a hot spot. At least it will be short lived...

bebeboeuf · 23/07/2019 07:19

36 forecast - I have no idea how we will manage in a non air conditioned office that is mostly south facing windows.
It gets sweltering even before it’s hi 25 degrees.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 23/07/2019 07:30

I fear the cool down in the south and SE appears to be being pushed back, Friday now may well be hot too.
GFS still going for temps of 35/36c on Thursday. In local 'hot spots' temperatures may be a degree or two hotter.

I should add, that scenario is not being backed up by the met office at present, who continue to forecast temps in the mid 20s on .Friday instead.

18C here already & thick fog, which is clearing fast. Went for a pee about 4am & could hardly see the other side of the road. So I suspect it's going to be very humid today.

JurassicShay · 23/07/2019 08:10

Any idea what the weather will be next week for the Isle of Wight? Off on hols and the reports I'm looking at show on off showers all week!

RosaWaiting · 23/07/2019 08:36

magimedi "Went for a pee about 4am & could hardly see the other side of the road"

this makes it sound like you went to pee outside your front door Grin

Kitten any views on London weather next week?

magimedi · 23/07/2019 08:53

No, Rosa - i used the loo, but can see what you mean. If I get up in the night I always look out the window.

RosaWaiting · 23/07/2019 09:13

magimedi it's okay, I know you used the loo Grin

OhYouBadBadKitten · 23/07/2019 09:17

Not looking forward to work! It's sweltering and we sweat loads at the best of times. We will be really struggling in this heat! Minimal air conditioning in our area.

GloriaSmud · 23/07/2019 09:52

Netweather's thoughts on this week's heatwave ~ could see some temperature records broken.

Sun is beginning to break through here (Leicester) and it's already a humid 23C.

GloriaSmud · 23/07/2019 09:53

Weather warning for thunderstorms.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 23/07/2019 09:54

at last!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 23/07/2019 09:54

they've been slow putting that one out.

GloriaSmud · 23/07/2019 09:58

They have been a bit on the slow side haven't they, OYBBK? I know thunderstorms are difficult to predict but it has kind of been mentioned in forecasts that there are the possibility of them for a day or two now.

Bunnylady53 · 23/07/2019 10:07

There’s no air con where I work but luckily I only have 2 shifts this week.

WhiteDust · 23/07/2019 10:13

Looks like hot weather is in the East and South East mainly? Is that right?

YesQueen · 23/07/2019 10:25

45 mins sleep AngrySad
Work has AC, I'm contemplating just sleeping here!
