Storm forecasts for this week (perhaps some severe storms)

This follows on from another thread but I thought a more explicit title was needed!

Its a complex situation and lots going on this week. There is potential for severe storms perhaps (definition of a severe storm is large hail, frequent cloud-ground lightning, flooding and tornadoes - hopefully not all in the same storm unless its a real good 'un!)

Estofex have issued a level 1 alert for storms for today and tomorrow.

For our storm forecasts today I'm going to hand you over to some experts on UKWW It's a really complex situation and they are way better at it than me (especially as my time is very limited before work). If you've got any questions about what they are saying don't hesitate to ask Smile I'm out this morning but back at lunch time for a bit.

PseudoBadger maybe you can see our storm! It still hasn't fizzled out completely. The torrential rain is over but there are still a few lightning flashes.
Our neighbours are trying to calm their dogs down, poor things.

Notts here. We're on storm no 2 now. This one is less spectacular than the splendid one at about 10pm last night, but I can finally feel a bit of a breeze, which is lovely.

Just had a look at Susan 's link and the strike rate is 3442 per hour!

Thunder still rumbling away here in South East Wales, but I think I've slept through the lightning. The rain was v v heavy at about 3.10, but not so bad now.

Still scared to have a shower just yet Smile

Storm rumbling on here in Manchester. Rain, big gusts of wind and huge rumbles of lightening.

It finally feels a tad cooler too.

Rained in the night but 1st clap of thunder I heard was at 4.45, but a few rumblings and no gusty winds. Faded roses not been stormed off as still there.
It does feel cooler but stangely we had the hottest night temp this year as didn't drop below 19Hmm. It had been 16 althrough the hot July weather.
Now more distant rumblings so little dog walkies on hold for a bit. Rumblings getting nearer now. SE

Absolute belter here in West Yorkshire. Been pretty dramatic for an hour or so. It was right overhead but is now rumbling round the hills.

Just had a loud close clap and before that rained heavily for a minute. More loud rumblings not seen lightening. dark clouds moved from SW to NE so don't understand the increased thunder activity near. Raining heavily again.

Bother, rain is waterfalling over the gutters, should have got window cleaners to clear it during the hot dry weather. Stopped now - very stop and go with the rain here.

Not a sausage of a storm here. Storms went east and west of us! Dry as a bone still, so I had to get the watering can out. Boo hiss.! Off to look at today's prospects in my back garden!

:( southern England at the moment looks to get nothing more than thundery showers today. Main risk area is central and eastern areas from Bedfordshire up with a slight chance of tornadoes in the NE.

Risk area may change, but I'm not holding my breath. Could get pretty warm/hot again in the south and south east.
