Storm forecasts for this week (perhaps some severe storms)

This follows on from another thread but I thought a more explicit title was needed!

Its a complex situation and lots going on this week. There is potential for severe storms perhaps (definition of a severe storm is large hail, frequent cloud-ground lightning, flooding and tornadoes - hopefully not all in the same storm unless its a real good 'un!)

Estofex have issued a level 1 alert for storms for today and tomorrow.

For our storm forecasts today I'm going to hand you over to some experts on UKWW It's a really complex situation and they are way better at it than me (especially as my time is very limited before work). If you've got any questions about what they are saying don't hesitate to ask Smile I'm out this morning but back at lunch time for a bit.

SE we have 27 now overcast and suffocatingly humid. Popped out into garden and felt dizzy, but managed to get back inside before I passed out!!!

Does look ominous for a storm/downpour though. But not much use if it doesn't clear the air again Hmm

Very dark over Bournemouth, few spots of rain, hope we get a good downpour to clear the air

:) you are welcome. I hope that the gfs model is exaggerating the rain - it quite often does.

for next week. I must remember to pack wellies and waterproofs - and resign myself to being permanently muddy! Grin for your thoughts of things possibly improving for Anglesey though!

Next week it does look pretty unsettled with plenty of wet around at times. Not cold though, day time temps in the low 20's, possibly higher.
Too early to say for Anglesey but at the moment GFS shows unsettled and cool. I think its quite possible that the picture will improve though.

thread about the weekends weather with a chance of more flooding in places. Seems so funny when it has been so dry here apart from one heavy storm burst on tuesday.

Susan Was this on Tuesday evening? We thought we were going to get a storm as it was very humid and we could see it was very black over towards the north of Leicester but we just missed it. Some terrible flooding in Nottinghamshire.

According to my phone, Brighton is no longer in for storms this weekend. Just a few showers. Fingers crossed!

gloria did you get caught in the storrm that went through just north of leics? we could see the clouds from the far end of the m69... got to the top of the hill at a46/a6 and the whole of the sky in front as black. you could tell all the way up through leics that there had been a huge downpourr as the road was very wet and still had the debris at the side.

some houses in notts got flooded. Sad

The sun did come out around 8am. Still hazy though. My forecast in paper says wet and warm for the rest of the week. Heavy rain in the night tonight in SE. At least it stays warm, it usually goes too cold .Smile
