You are most welcome to this school staff support thread to get us through stressful times. Baiters and bashers can jog on somewhere else.

If you are not staff and just have a general education query please start your own thread.

You can play here only if you are a member of one the following groups-

-ABBA - anti bashers and baiting association
-SWAB - school workers against bashers
-SWOT - school workers opposing teacherbashers
-STARS - schoolworkers together against ranting + slurs

Other requirements for staff room entry include the ability to find the staff room, the ability to find a clean mug in the staff room, knowledge of the photocopier codes and the ability to sniff out where the toffee vodka is hidden.

A time I would really appreciate being able to talk with others, try and understand the govt guidance and hear other insights into this while working out wtf to do because it's a lot to deal with - but can't because of people getting their own fear, anger, misery and entitlement out finding any thread where teachers are trying to talk and verbally bashing the hell out of them.

Honestly I'm getting to the point of being done with MN.

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 13/05/2020 09:50

I don’t think they will open. There’s been such a huge backlash. Not just from teachers, but from parents too. Outside mumsnet bubble, parents are supporting us.

StaffAssociationRepresentative · 13/05/2020 09:57

@Boscoismyspiritanimal - I was wondering about that last night whilst completing my Year 10 reports. It could even be someone within MN driving traffic as well I guess.

Radio 5 live ....discussion starting now.

FlamingoAndJohn · 13/05/2020 10:26

DH has just been to the Post Office in our little parade of shops. He said that the street was really busy. There is a big park there too.

I think that this is indicative of there being a lot of people going to wherever they fancy now. There will be another spike in two weeks. This whole road map and the idea of re opening the schools was just to shut people up.

James O brien on LBC made a good point.

Stock market workers furlough until October. If you work with 5 year olds your back to work without PPE no social distancing and just accept it. Is there a point where we say come on lads that's not right is it?

DreamingofBrie · 13/05/2020 10:50

I have joined you on TES.

Lovely day today, catching up with my form for 121s. So impressed with the way they have handled this change to their ways of working. MN not like real life, I hope!

RigaBalsam · 13/05/2020 10:56

' completely ignorant narrative to teachers'

I think I love James O Brien

FrippEnos · 13/05/2020 11:01

The educational genius that is John Barnes was led in to saying that schools could be open in the summer holiday.

PerplexingWords · 13/05/2020 11:08

I've joined you over there Smile. The vitriol has to be orchestrated.

NeurotrashWarrior · 13/05/2020 11:18

Ha St!

NeurotrashWarrior · 13/05/2020 11:19

@Michelleoftheresistance please don't go; your input is hugely valued on FWR Thanks

StaffAssociationRepresentative · 13/05/2020 11:22

Jeez! We have asked MN to calm things down but nothing happening. Quite frankly it is calmer over there as I suppose there are more like-minded people.

Same peeps with same name/user changes - banging on about the same old stuff whilst trying to de-rail support threads and education threads.

In other news - I am having a homemade chocolate brownie with my morning coffee

Yes I think the goading is organised and orchestrated. It reminds me of the monitors on the feminism chat board

CallmeAngelina · 13/05/2020 11:41

The "positive" Danish school thread is DEFINITELY orchestrated. There are people falling over themselves to be ridiculously capitalised happy, and they've just over-egged it now.
I've reported that thread (and others) several times and MNHQ are either ignoring me or happy to let them all stand.

StaffAssociationRepresentative · 13/05/2020 11:45

But at least Hope on the other thread said that MN is looking into taking the Staffroom out of active. Obviously Lucy will not come back to us as she is off duty now

I am not bothering with the Danish thread etc. No point

NeurotrashWarrior · 13/05/2020 11:48

Has it come from the dementors threads?

WhyNotMe40 · 13/05/2020 11:57

Maybe MN has cut a deal with the government that the gov will subsidise the website if they allow their "nudging" free reign on the site.

echt · 13/05/2020 11:59

God the arseholes are out tonight. This morning for most of you.

Or are we not to mention other threads? Advance search my name and you'll see what drivel the thickoids are spouting. Or is that forbidden too?

WhyNotMe40 · 13/05/2020 12:01

I ventured into that "our children have a right to an education" thread.
Way to make myself feel shit. I am pretty close to a breakdown now. Very depressed. Very demoralised. I even feel bad about the amount of screen time my 3 year old has been getting to allow me to home educate my primary children and support my own students. I've probably ruined his brain :(

WhyNotMe40 · 13/05/2020 12:02

I will try to get the space and energy to phone the gp I think tomorrow

NeurotrashWarrior · 13/05/2020 12:08

Union thread closed! BrewCakeGin

Why, my two year old is watching way too much. I think a Gp call would be useful Thanks

Saucery · 13/05/2020 12:11

WhyNot try not to worry about your 3yr old’s screen time Flowers
If you think about extraordinary circumstances like a prolonged stay in hospital for a small child they might need to have loads of screen time to keep them occupied. They don’t end up addicted to screens or their development affected.
