Ham are now asking to be called "public figures".. wtf! They wanted to be private citizens which is why they left the RF..Is this to try & get security.
Good on King Charkes nipping their shit in the bud & reminding them of their station!

Harry and Meghan ‘caught off guard’ by King’s decision over their status

The couple were reportedly ‘surprised’ by the memorandum issued by King Charles

He humbled himself and offered to be a servant in his father’s house.

Just like Harry then 😂 at least any people who read these threads who were unaware of what the Prodigal son parable actually means will now know what it’s actually about. Every day’s a school day!

@Greygreenlandscape654

No, I don’t think the RF should ‘have to resolve the HAM rupture.

They’re doing very nicely without them.

Can you pinpoint a single advantage to the monarchy of reconciling with The Gruesome Twosome?

I can’t.

The advantage would be to HAM only. They can go whistle.

That may be true but all the wealth, patronages and lavish ceremonies in the world don’t mean much if you don’t feel personally welcome.

Harry’s family might have found it difficult to be welcoming when they realised that his new girlfriend was passing stories about how snobbish Kate was to a Canadian gossip blog via her Toronto connections.

But so beautifully matched, don’t you think?

Just like Salt ‘n’ Pepper!

He humbled himself and offered to be a servant in his father’s house.

I’m beginning to think those that continually come up with this parable have misheard it and think that ‘he fumbled himself and offered to be a serpent in his father’s house’.

No proof of the first bit but it wouldn’t surprise me.

The second he clearly nailed.

Is this because Catherine didn’t take her shopping , was reluctant to share her lipgloss and didn’t want to hold hands going into Wimbledon?

Oh gosh - I’d forgotten that Wiley little trick!

The hand holding (yuk, yuk, and thrice yuk) was a ruse to circumvent the rule of precedence. Meg didn’t fancy following C out to the Royal Box so she tried to engineer hand-holding to walk beside her.

Unbelievable.

Harry’s family might have found it difficult to be welcoming when they realised that his new girlfriend was passing stories about how snobbish Kate was to a Canadian gossip blog via her Toronto connections.

Someone reposted Lainey’s later explanation about this. It reads as quite vehement “I am not and never was friends with Meghan”.

It is really no defense of Meghan because she wrote that loads of people knew about the shopping “snub”.

Also that Catherine would have been trying to avoid any fuss over the two of them being out together. So she’s made the case that it wasn’t a snub at all.

Edited: it may appear that I am not acknowledging what people are saying when I am trying to respond to people genuinely, but there are a lot more of you and only one of me so it’s kind of hard to keep up.

Well, I for one don't mind not being responded to.
I'd rather hear lots of gossip about the "very high born people" with whom your job brought you into contact.

(You're not Paul Burrell, are you?
I always rather fancied he would talk like that.)

I’ll leave it there.

Then that is a shame.

I confess that I can only truly judge H&M on what they’ve said and done.

I would really like to be convinced that I’ve got it wrong on what you’ve seen the royals do or say.

We both ‘think’ and ‘believe’ (as is human nature I suppose) but if it is based purely what has been put out there, then I’m more appalled at the actions of H&M.

If it comes down to grey rocking? I think it understandable in the circumstances. Both KC and C were dealing with a diagnosis no-one wants to hear and were likely in self preservation mode.

“A lot more of you”. What are we?

An amorphous mass.

I think I was described similarly in a nightclub once.

Anyone else following this hysterical wholly fictional web series account of a Prince and Princess returning to the UK?

The Letter Nobody Asked to Receive
Somewhere in Whitehall, a letter went out to confirm what everyone already knew. Somewhere in a borrowed kitchen, two people discovered that an arrangement they chose still applied to them personally.

Thanks for reminding me - I'd got up to part 4 and stopped.

So pleased to see I have 4 more parts to read!

From the link above:

Harried leaned over the screen. “Technically, we still retain the styles.”

“Yes,” Celeste said. “They are being retained very successfully. The difficulty appears to be retaining them without printing them.”

Megain closed the laptop. “It was a personal gesture.”

“Of course. Most people send ice cream with their first name. You sent yours with a dormant constitutional honorific.”

TheOvertGardener · 13/09/2026 15:37

@bluegreygreen Did you post it originally? I’m loving that whole site. Fabulous!

bluegreygreen · 13/09/2026 15:40

I posted it recently but someone else first posted it here a while ago - unfortunately I can't remember who.

I love it - both the satire pieces and the more serious ones. I like in the serious ones how she distinguishes clearly between what is known and what is just supposition.

Then perhaps she should have saved the King and the taxpayer a lot of money and refused the lot.

After all, they managed to marry in their own little private ceremony after all and the big do was all for the little people.

That was such a tone deaf comment.

I know both she and Harry need to potry the love story of the two of them against the whole nasty world but she has no self awareness at all...the "spectacle" as she called it cost the taxpayers millions of pounds.

Possibly the Charles squad?

It is interesting to note when 'leave it here' is deployed....
