Ham are now asking to be called "public figures".. wtf! They wanted to be private citizens which is why they left the RF..Is this to try & get security.
Good on King Charkes nipping their shit in the bud & reminding them of their station!

Harry and Meghan ‘caught off guard’ by King’s decision over their status

The couple were reportedly ‘surprised’ by the memorandum issued by King Charles

@Greygreenlandscape654

You claim there is no acknowledgment of faults in the way the RF handled HAM.

The RF bent over backwards to welcome Meghan, offering several different sources of advice, mentors, a dossier of information etc, M rejected all, saying “ I don’t need any of this - I have Harry”. THAT was the problem.

That dim, dozy numpty was pig-ignorant about his own family and about royal protocols and apparently had failed to tell her even the basics before the marriage.

Meghan never intended to stay in the UK or to work for The Firm. Whatever the RF did, she was going to find fault.

Harry chose very badly and a lot of people have suffered for it.

You don't blame Harry for his behaviour?
Ok.

Do you ever concede that it’s a possibility that the RF may have made some mistakes when handling the issue of H and M’s role within the RF?

It's William's fault.

Williams fault the post is too long? , I’m confused

But Bunny - do you really think Meghan is popular enough for any charity to risk taking her on? The polls say a resounding no, and I think the next year or so will make this worse. Her reputation (like her husband’s) is for grifting, slacking, bunking off because it’s boring talking to ordinary people, extracting huge expenses and making awful speeches.

i mean - her reputation for any kind of service which doesn’t primarily serve HER isn’t great.

Not at all! But @Noras - who seems to think royals can be hired to order for charity fundraising - thinks Meghan would be perfect for charities working with language disorders / ASD due to her drama skills. Meghan's not really known for having the patience to work with charities, though, and I can't imagine how she would be with kids with languge disorders or an ASD.

Harry and Meghan unenthusiastically tried to be working royals and serving others but they couldn't hack it.

I used to love Father Ted 😃

But that’s a complete misrepresentation of what I am saying.

And of course some of you are deliberately misrepresenting my opinions bc it suits your narrative to do so. That’s absolutely fine.

I was having a bit of fun.

But you can’t say why H is so maligned without whatabouterying about the big bad RF.

You might not blame H for the current situation but it is there for all to see.

If some want to paint him as the hard done boy. Rich and entitled as he is? Fine.

But it isn’t true.

If some think he should be welcomed back into the fold? Again fine. But he won’t be because he is rotten. Pure rotten.

Some I think said that it is a terrible thing to have to be so wary of those around you in the RF.

See H and wonder why.

invitadeficere · 13/09/2026 14:02

And I still think that H must be responsible the disillusionment of M for the Buckingham Palace Camelot not being what he said it was.

I mean he must have filled her head with shite given that she couldn’t Google, didn’t know who he was or anything at all about the RF.

jeffgoldblum · 13/09/2026 14:02

DelectableMe · 13/09/2026 13:55

You also said that it was "a dispute between brothers".
It isn't.

Oh ! I see , please ignore my confusion, how can there be a dispute between two brothers when one …….has been on Oprah ….released a Netflix documentary…..wrote a book …..given multiple interviews and the other one …..has said nothing…?

Yes. It must have been impossible to find out about the national anthem, what a curtsey was and what is meant by "line of succession".

Greygreenlandscape654 · 13/09/2026 13:56

Do you ever concede that it’s a possibility that the RF may have made some mistakes when handling the issue of H and M’s role within the RF?

Not really, because the role of what one does within the RF as a working royal is pretty well defined (albeit quite flexible). H and M just couldn't hack it and Meghan never even made the slightest effort to learn or understand what the royal family is about.

As for how they behaved within a family, they have been awful, with their public attacks, insinuations, slurs about racism, etc. Only very entitled, selfish, rude people say things like that about their family in public. And Harry and Meghan's allegations have no substance to them. They were deliberately contrived to cause as much damage to Harry's family as possible.

I think the fact that not just the whole family but the whole government - who also have a say in this - back Charles, Camilla, William and Catherine says it all. Let's not forget that the current arrangement was passed under the late Queen.

Harry and Meghan are completely incapable of being working royals, of representing the King and the British state.

Which mistakes do you think the RF made?

Well yes! Heaven forbid that an entirely privileged, rich prince be held accountable for his own behaviour 🙄 , as far as I can see William has not replied to any of Harry’s comments! Apparently this is the genius pr work of Buckingham palace….make no comment!
william seems guilty of only being born first , which he had no control over , this whole thing is being fuelled by Harry’s jealousy pure and simple.

Good point. Catherine was fully prepped for royal life. William even broke up with her, giving her an opt-out. She was fully aware of the job that came with the marriage. They would have liked Cressida (or any suitable Sloane) for Harry but in actuality it was him who wanted to break free somewhat. Meghan was his ticket to a different life. But the fact remains, he’s Prince Harry!

Yes, but of course Harry is Diana's only son.

They could release the Bullying Dossier. That would be interesting.

I think many of the senior royals could foresee the way things were going. They had the measure of Meghan, for sure. But what could they realistically hav3 done about it? The world would definitely have cried “Racists!”

The late Queen was extremely concerned that most of M’s family had been excluded from the wedding and tried hard to persuade her to go to see her father and reconcile. Boy, was all that a red flag! She’d fallen out with all but one of her family and within months-guess what? Harry had fallen out with all of his too.

Coincidence? Narcissistic control? You decide!😄

In what way? Didn’t they want them to ease in to their role slowly, suggesting Meghan might want to continue acting for a while? Didn’t they offer mentors and documents to assist Meghan? Didn’t the late Queen take her on engagements with her? And didn’t the Sussexes reject all of this and say they wanted to hit the ground running (their exact wording believe) and subsequently make a complete balls up of their roles in the RF all by themselves 🤔

typo

Harry choose or did Harry settle?
None of the other wealthy or aristocratic girls wanted to marry him... Chelsy, Florence, Cressida wanted nothing to do with a marriage in a fishbowl.. All three went onto to marry very rich, handsome husbands & have their own interests, careers, families & idyllic lives...

And where has that information come from? Tame journalists on the royal rota? Who are all completely objective of course? No doubt some of the people she encountered were kind and helpful. To me it’s not improbable that she met with some people who were quite snobby about her though. If Catherine encountered that, why wouldn’t it apply to M?

Meghan never intended to stay in the UK or to work for The Firm. Whatever the RF did, she was going to find fault

You categorically know what was in her mind and what her intentions were when she married?

It’s not her fault that she grew up in USA. Of course it’s harder settling in to a country that is completely foreign to you. To me it seemed quite a natural impulse for her to want to return home. I’m surprised she has come back once more to the UK though!

Harry chose very badly and a lot of people have suffered for it

I don’t like to assume others are bad but what I do know is that hurt people hurt others. And the solution does not lie in continuing the hurt and in issuing more orders and edicts but in trying to spend time together and attempting to reconcile. Harry’s supposed “crimes” aren’t so bad that they can’t be talked about and forgiven.

If the RF can tolerate and harbour AMW for over a decade knowing what he did, they can certainly be a bit more tolerant towards Harry.

The leader of the C of E should understand this. No doubt he listens to the parable of the prodigal son at least once a year.

Some will say, as they have on here, that not all family disputes should be resolved, and that’s absolutely right. Some can’t be, or it shouldn’t be attempted.

But I think if we are burdened with a hereditary monarchy then it’s up to them to do the best they can to resolve this, or they risk having this soap opera continue throughout W’s reign, never mind that of KCIII’s, and that is not remotely beneficial to the UK.

What mistakes did the RF family make?

Meghan first ever girlfriend to be invited to Sandringham
£50,000 engagement dress that Charles paid for
£30 million pound wedding
Given Frogmore Cottage and refurbished to their taste
Offered a country estate by KC (refused)
Offered an apartment next door to W&C (refused)
Duke and Duchess titles
Both awarded Youth Ambassadors of the Commonwealth by HMTLQ
Meghan awarded by HMTLQ the Patronage of The National Theatre which the Queen had held previously.
A solo engagement with the Queen less than a month after her marriage to Harry an honour which was not afforded to Catherine until nearly a year after her marriage to William.

Just a few examples off the top of my head, I’m sure there are many more but thinking about it, you are absolutely right the RF made a huge mistake in thinking the more they offered the happier they would be, nothing would ever be enough for these two ungrateful bullying grasping nasty grifters.

Any examples ?
Was the wedding not lavish enough ?
Was Meghan’s clothing bill not generous enough ?
Were the patronages ( including Commonwealth roles) not important enough ?
Compared to other Royal brides I think the RF bent over backwards to welcome Meghan and give her and H a meaningful role .
Clearly you know different ?

The son, when he returned was contrite.

invitadeficere · 13/09/2026 14:26

On the contrary. I think it is beneficial for the UK.

It is the ultimate, and I mean the ultimate lesson, in fucking around and finding out. And also not being obliged to keep being kicked when someone has tried to kick you down.

William will be fine. I’ve no doubt of that.

H is destined for a whole other road.
