Ham are now asking to be called "public figures".. wtf! They wanted to be private citizens which is why they left the RF..Is this to try & get security.
Good on King Charkes nipping their shit in the bud & reminding them of their station!

Harry and Meghan ‘caught off guard’ by King’s decision over their status

The couple were reportedly ‘surprised’ by the memorandum issued by King Charles

The RF bent over backwards to welcome Meghan, offering several different sources of advice, mentors, a dossier of information etc, M rejected all, saying “ I don’t need any of this - I have Harry”. THAT was the problem

And where has that information come from? Tame journalists on the royal rota? Who are all completely objective of course? No doubt some of the people she encountered were kind and helpful. To me it’s not improbable that she met with some people who were quite snobby about her though. If Catherine encountered that, why wouldn’t it apply to M?

Meghan never intended to stay in the UK or to work for The Firm. Whatever the RF did, she was going to find fault

You categorically know what was in her mind and what her intentions were when she married?

It’s not her fault that she grew up in USA. Of course it’s harder settling in to a country that is completely foreign to you. To me it seemed quite a natural impulse for her to want to return home. I’m surprised she has come back once more to the UK though!

Harry chose very badly and a lot of people have suffered for it

I don’t like to assume others are bad but what I do know is that hurt people hurt others. And the solution does not lie in continuing the hurt and in issuing more orders and edicts but in trying to spend time together and attempting to reconcile. Harry’s supposed “crimes” aren’t so bad that they can’t be talked about and forgiven.

If the RF can tolerate and harbour AMW for over a decade knowing what he did, they can certainly be a bit more tolerant towards Harry.

The leader of the C of E should understand this. No doubt he listens to the parable of the prodigal son at least once a year.

Some will say, as they have on here, that not all family disputes should be resolved, and that’s absolutely right. Some can’t be, or it shouldn’t be attempted.

But I think if we are burdened with a hereditary monarchy then it’s up to them to do the best they can to resolve this, or they risk having this soap opera continue throughout W’s reign, never mind that of KCIII’s, and that is not remotely beneficial to the UK.

A lot of this came directly from their very own mouthpiece omid scoobie!!
but obviously you have made up your mind and are not actually listening to the replies are you, I see little point in actually bothering to contribute further.

Harry choose or did Harry settle?
None of the other wealthy or aristocratic girls wanted to marry him... Chelsy, Florence, Cressida wanted nothing to do with a marriage in a fishbowl.. All three went onto to marry very rich, handsome husbands & have their own interests, careers, families & idyllic lives...

I suspect it’s incredibly difficult finding the right person to marry you when you are a member of the RF knowing that press intrusion and public interest will be a constant burden.

Some of it also came from Harry and Meghan directly, not just their mouthpiece.
Some of these points came from the Netflix series and Spare.
Again, though; maybe it was all William in a ginger wig.

Just quoting you here "The leader of the C of E should understand this. No doubt he listens to the parable of the prodigal son at least once a year."

Can you point me in the direction of when Harry played his part in this parable? The prodigal son doesn't just 'return'

When he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! 18 I will set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. 19 I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.’ 20 So he got up and went to his father.
“But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.
21 “The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’

What mistakes did the RF family make?

Meghan first ever girlfriend to be invited to Sandringham
£50,000 engagement dress that Charles paid for
£30 million pound wedding
Given Frogmore Cottage and refurbished to their taste
Offered a country estate by KC (refused)
Offered an apartment next door to W&C (refused)
Duke and Duchess titles
Both awarded Youth Ambassadors of the Commonwealth by HMTLQ
Meghan awarded by HMTLQ the Patronage of The National Theatre which the Queen had held previously.
A solo engagement with the Queen less than a month after her marriage to Harry an honour which was not afforded to Catherine until nearly a year after her marriage to William.

Just a few examples off the top of my head, I’m sure there are many more but thinking about it, you are absolutely right the RF made a huge mistake in thinking the more they offered the happier they would be, nothing would ever be enough for these two ungrateful bullying grasping nasty grifters.

That may be true but all the wealth, patronages and lavish ceremonies in the world don’t mean much if you don’t feel personally welcome.

Exactly! , I’ve forgotten what this thread is about! , and I’m sure the op @Tabbytiger122, is delighted that she’s been practically eliminated from her own thread.😬

Edited

I see this a lot from HAM fans quoting the Prodigal Son when they clearly haven’t read it or if they have read it missed out the bit about the prodigal son being sorry and feeling undeserving of forgiveness.

Probably. But that is why it’s also very important to get it right. Im not sure that it was just the burden of being in the RF that put those ladies off either. Being in Harry’s position should be far easier than Williams. I think some of it could possibly be down to Harry as an individual

I think (as has been beautifully illustrated on here!) that the big, stupid orange goldfish was dopily swimming around with his mouth open, probably blowing bubbles of some substance, when he was stalked and successfully netted by sharp-eyed fisherwoman, Meghan, who landed him with a triumphant smile.

😂 Yes indeed, Jeff, it’s a sorry tale of “Marry in haste, repent at leisure “.

I think it’s true that Chelsey and Cressida didn’t want the royal life but I remember reading long ago (I can’t remember where) that in addition to being put off by that, Cressida said H was actually the most unromantic and grumpy git in the later part of their relationship and that was also a factor in their break-up.

Is this because Catherine didn’t take her shopping , was reluctant to share her lipgloss and didn’t want to hold hands going into Wimbledon?

I know. Why flout ignorance? Don't refer to the parable if you don't understand it.

Then perhaps she should have saved the King and the taxpayer a lot of money and refused the lot.

After all, they managed to marry in their own little private ceremony after all and the big do was all for the little people.

Edited: it may appear that I am not acknowledging what people are saying when I am trying to respond to people genuinely, but there are a lot more of you and only one of me so it’s kind of hard to keep up.

I’ll leave it there.

Let’s not forget that Harry also had a nasty habit of cheating on his girlfriends ! Poor Chelsey found out about his romps from the media! ( with pictures) , yet again Harry wasn’t contrite but blamed the media for revealing his bad behaviour rather than admitting it was ultimately his fault for behaving in that way!
would you have married him? 😬

William tried to warn H to take things slowLy and let M find out what she was getting into.

H was furious and I think this was one of the causes of The Battle of the Dogbowl.

W wisely gave C lots of time to think long and hard about marrying him.

You are aware that Meghan was caught lying to a court of law because she denied feeding him stories aren’t you!
please don’t insult my intelligence by acting like you don’t know these facts.

i can also add another entire paragraph with editing after the facts , however I won’t.

Ugh. He’s just awful! Horrible man-child, ripe for the picking by go-getter Meghan.

Also - and somewhat hypocritically, Harry told his father not to marry Camilla.
