I forgave you instantly! 😁 , here’s my confession…shhh! , I really hate …pizza!

Well, I can’t eat onion or garlic so pizza is not exactly on my ‘go to’ list either!

Thanks also to jeff.

I understand your motives but I'm fine to take whatever backlash comes my way on the chin wherever I post.

I've been around forums a very long time 😆

Back to the topic in hand I agree with this assessment:

The Royals are all about PR though, they have to be. Taylor and Travis are popular and William will use that.

Pretty much sums it up.

jeffgoldblum · 04/07/2026 16:53

Me neither @KatyaKanani! , that sounds like a bummer @AnAutumnCrow! They are in practically everything.. I have been questioned as to why ..I like bread …I like tomato and tomato sauces and obviously I love cheese ( except mozzarella, tasteless and stringy) but I don’t like pizza!! 🤷‍♀️ shouldn’t be controversial but apparently some find it so!

I don’t think I asked you to draw up a list - I was just wondering whether your principles apply to all the royals but I see that they do (I think that’s what you mean anyway), so you must agree that H+M are also hypocrites 👍

I said my principles apply to everyone. I'm not sure what you're trying to establish by asking me to single out Meghan and Harry. What point are you trying to prove? Why not ask about William? Why those two only?

Well I don’t need to ask about William because you have already said you think he’s hypocritical 🤦‍♀️

Where? I haven't named anyone. I made a general comment. Please quote me where I said William is hypocritical?

What I said was very clear it applies to anyone, I even said so to you, yet you still keep bringing up individual names. And now you are falsely saying I said something that I didn't

I have watched it, I’ve watched most of their podcasts in fact as I’m originally from Kansas City and my family are mostly Chiefs fans, although my mum is from Philadelphia so Go Birds! Their podcasts are always fun and they seem to get along with everyone they’ve ever had on. They’re hardly going to have someone on and not appear to get on well.

I’m not saying they don't get on anyway, I’m just saying the optics don’t look great from the climate activist point of view and they could have kept any friendship and chats private.

It will have been weighed up and decided that it’s a great PR move, for all involved, which no doubt it is. The climate stuff can pale into insignificance for a while when William can be promoted on a very popular podcast, one half of whom is now married to probably the biggest music artist in the world. The podcast is about PR not friendship and it’s silly to pretend it isn’t.

Agree!

I lived in KC briefly. The bbq.....

wow how do you manage with no lifts?
(I find this more interesting that TS)

We are running with reduced power. The AC doesn't get really cool and the fans move slowly. You have to open a frig as little as possible to preserve the cold. The city has been handing out dry ice to keep food cool.

We have 2 people in wheelchairs who essentially cannot leave the building but they have family. The building is 6 stories so walking up and down is a drag but manageable. People actually trekked down to do laundry which I think is a bad idea. Save power and wait. Also the hot water has been affected by the power cut.

In some buildings a block over, they have electric pumps for the water ( we don't need them). When they go down, the residents have no water. A few years ago, the city sent people into those buildings to give water and dry ice to homebound residents.

They are keeping the grid reduced to prevent a complete blackout. Only a few more days.

💐 what an ordeal.
I hope you all get through it ok.

BTW, my local pizza place does big square slices with thinly sliced potatos, fresh rosemary, and olive oil. Or zucchini pesto with burrata. You need to go to a pizza place run by an actual Italian. Slices can be more than just tomato sauce.

It's estimated that the Swift wedding cost between $15 to $25 million, a nice boost to the NYC economy. They interviewed a fan who drove from Ohio to stand outside MSG for the wedding. More tourism dollars for NYC.

There are usually two sides (at least) to these things.

For example, some people are adamant that Amazon is the worst organisation in the world, yet, during COVID, the Amazon marketplace helped many small businesses survive where otherwise they would not have been able to.

Posters unfamiliar with the Royal family boards may be unaware that there are some distinct groupings of posters who make an attempt on almost every thread regardless of topic to criticize William and Kate.

Some are republicans who know that William and especially Kate are the biggest block to getting rid of the monarchy.

Some are supporters of Meghan and Harry who dislike William and Kate with a passion in some kind of only one coupe can win feud.

And there’s also a weird hybrid of republicans who seemed to become fans of the Sussexes as some kind of disrupters to the system who would help the cause.

And not to leave our some very passionate ‘Harry and Meghan are the devil posters’

So it remains almost impossible to not derail a thread.

I do like the cheese and light hearted diversions though!

Very astute.

Don’t forget the posters with very strong feelings that just happened upon the RFF because “Taylor Swift”. Or whatever the excuse of the day. 😁

Morning, @BemusedAmerican, how's it going? I hope you were able to celebrate, and that things are going ok 🙏

BemusedAmerican · 05/07/2026 20:55

Thanks for your good wishes. Our power is back! The temperature has dropped! Unfortunately a storm last night knocked out power for 13k people on Long Island ( far end of the island). They are still out. The NYC metro area is definitely taking a hit.

I watched the fireworks on TV. They moved up the show because of the storm. It was amazing even on TV.

PW is reaching out successfully to an audience extending beyond the UK and exercising very effective soft power

What concrete benefits do you see accruing to the UK?

I think William wants the celebrity connections and all the fare. Or he thinks he needs that to stay more relevant

I doubt he’ll ever feel the need to grind into Alison Hammond like his brother 🤢
