Media vs. Reality: The Royal Meeting No One Cares About

It makes little difference if he meets his father. His role won’t change, and the monarchy or public won’t be affected, yet the media keeps spinning it as if it matters — even though the public doesn’t care.

Prince Harry 'to meet with King Charles' when he returns to UK

Reconciliation is 'within reach' between the Duke of Sussex and his father following an informal peace summit involving Buckingham Palace officials.

Whether the public cares doesn’t really matter the newspapers are still going to report on it as it is do with the head of state. I’m sure it matters to KC as Harry is his son and that isn’t going to change even though there are many regular posters on MN who would be spitting feathers if a reconciliation ever happened.

Toseland · 29/08/2025 16:04

He's desperate to reconcile (or be kept in the will!) and the Mail seems to be publishing a lot of these articles pushing the Sussex's agenda - I'm not sure I believe any of them are true!

Toseland · 29/08/2025 16:06

...forgot to add the "sources" are US based!

CoffeeCantata · 29/08/2025 16:08

He’s looking more like Prince Edward now - eyes very close together!

sundayfundayclub · 29/08/2025 16:09

Why have you made a thread if you don't care?

chunkybear · 29/08/2025 16:09

The ‘sources’ are the Sussex 🤡🤡’s … clearly never to be trusted, idiots!

sundayfundayclub · 29/08/2025 16:11

yet the media keeps spinning it as if it matters

Some media will keep reporting on this crap because it's click bait...

CatHairEveryWhereNow · 29/08/2025 16:19

It must get views else media wouldn't bother writing such stories- but I do think as a subject area they are a ever diminishing return.

I supspect KC may want to see his american GC but I can't see what the Sussex expect to change - their access would be extremly resticted as no-one trusts them to keep their mouths shut.

I don’t care, but you can’t escape it. Every time Harry sets foot in the UK (or even nearby), the media dusts off the same old storyline about “olive branches” and the endless “will they, won’t they” game. What they fail to see is that the public doesn’t care — every poll shows people are done with Meghan and Harry.

The truth is, it doesn’t matter whether they reconcile or not. Harry will never be a working royal again, and he simply isn’t relevant to the monarchy anymore. Over time he’ll fade even further into the background, especially once William becomes King and the Wales children step into the spotlight.

There is a core of people who care and a core of people who thrive on drama who will buy into this shit most of us dont I find him clingy and "cringe" when i see them on television the constant "my mother died my rich family gave my older brother a bigger food portion" rhetoric

It's embarrassing he actually walks through a symbolic minefield to mirror his mother but doesn't think people have been maimed and died here perhaps my troubles are smaller than I thought? (not his mother dying obviously) he has zero empathy for other people while trying to mimic his mother who seemed to have a lot (never met her but she did a good job of seeming to give a shit)

Not sure Harry accepts that he isn’t really relevant any more .
he is similar to Lord Linley who was 5th in the LOS when born and is now 26th.

CutiePieOk · 29/08/2025 23:54

No one cares. Harry and Megs you will never be relevant in the uk (or anywhere) karmas a bitch!

Spectre8 · 30/08/2025 16:11

Typical click bait article they make money from these types of articles and they will continue to do so until people stop clicking on them and stop making money.

… also it’s H&M hotline to various publications to get their name in print no matter what - desperate to become relevant, failing as usual!

Baital · 30/08/2025 17:59

It's utterly irrelevant to anything or anyone except the individuals concerned.

On a purely human level I hope they can have some sort of reconciliation, however limited. But can quite understand why KC3 and the PoW would have reservations.

There comes a point when you have to protect yourself, no matter how much you love the person who is so destructive.

CeciliaDuckiePond · 30/08/2025 18:06

The Royals are all over-privileged and lazy and should be gracefully retired to live in reasonable comfort but not ludicrous extravagance.

However, on a purely human level, I hope they do reconcile. Charles is old and unwell. Harry lost his mother at a very young age; the loss of his father will hit him worse if they are on bad terms, and I wouldn't wish that sadness on another human being.

BoboTheBear · 30/08/2025 18:24

I saw a BBC headline which said something like, "Harry is going to visit the UK. But will he see the King?"

I just thought, God, is this really supposed to be news? Who the fuck cares what he does?

Toseland · 31/08/2025 00:04

Perhaps the Sussexes are paying for these articles?

Talltreesbythelake · 01/09/2025 12:57

He can demand the Moon on a stick, doesn't mean he is going to get anything. He has had millions spent on him in his lifetime, with no benefit to this country.

chunkybear · 01/09/2025 13:07

He’s such a fool, why on earth would anyone give in to his ridiculous, over inflated ego and entitlement chip which is off the scale! As for that bullying narc of a wife, we don’t want her here in the UK, so she can piss off back to her crappy PR campaigns off the back of everyone else’s hard work - jumped up little gold digger

I agree! I’m a Republican but I hope they reconcile just because of the human factor. Harry’s already lost one parent.

I don’t know why posters are so invested in the negativity and almost cheering on the permanent fracture of an important family relationship! Surely it’s up to them what they do?

I wouldn’t be so sure that Harry will never be a working royal again!

If some decent MPs runs with the Lownie allegations and it’s proven that Prince Andrew broke the law while acting as a trade envoy and it was covered up by the palace, and that the corruption goes to the heart of the institution, Harry may be the only one, having broken away, who comes up smelling of roses!

The others all have their noses in the trough!

William admittedly is a bit of a mystery but from casual observation, he doesn’t appear to be grasping his reality with open arms shall we say?

Stranger things have happened! QE2 never thought in a million years that she was going to be monarch!

But Harry should settle down now and take one or two really good innovative projects and focus on them.

QEII was next in line to the throne from the age of 10 years.
