Part 6 of positive threads, delving into all things Meghan and Harry. Whether it’s the causes they support, their business initiatives, or Meghan’s fashion choices (Harry’s too, on occasion 😉), there’s plenty to discuss Just a pro-tip - that there may be use of MLE terms and discussions of dupes - you might want to exit stage left if these things offend. This is a relatively drama free zone - let’s keep things light! Clinking a glass of lemonade 🥂 to @queentim for the original inspiration.

Yay! Looking forward to it! 😍

Thanks - haven’t had a chance to read that yet! Will have a look.

By the way Montecito Moments could be a brilliant ARO sub-brand!

Maybe a flavour of Clevr Brands coffee? Or gourmet chocolates...

TallerSally · 15/05/2024 14:59

And now Meg's back from Nigeria, I am sooooooooo hoping she comes up with something that somehow bridges Montecito and where she's from in Nigeria (if known).

Just imagine, something blending the incredible print and embroidered fabrics into homewares or clothing... maybe a collaboration with a Nigerian homewares designer or one of the clothing designers...

Endless possibilities.... 😃😃😃

So,

I really liked this summary of the Nigeria tour on People, who M&H gave an exclusive interview to, which is on the cover of the magazine.

Both say they're happy, and I'm happy they are happy!

Great article - am also very surprised by this article by Petronella Wyatt. Who would have thought, eh?

Reading the article it struck me that the most positive thing for Harry and Meghan going forward would be if the press (and social media) would actually let them move forward. They obviously want to do their own thing in their own way and the constant references to what they did in the past, how working royals do things, whether he's seen his dad etc, does them no favours at all.

I don't think this constant comparison is coming from them or the working royals, it's the press and social media harping on about things that I'm pretty sure all those directly involved have moved beyond it and don't spend their time playing comparisons. If it were me I'd find it frustrating to be put in this box by the press, like parents who won't meet a child grow up, the press want to forment strife and comparison and discord that I don't see coming from anyone directly involved.

I hope that this visit to Nigeria proves to be the last gasp of comparisons and they can get on with what they want to do and to reported on as themselves alone without bringing into it the institution they chose to leave. It clearly wasn't a royal tour and I don't think they envisaged it as such.

And I love the idea of Nigerian inspired ARO products, that would make a lot of sense.

Sounds like an Airwick freshener or a sex toy. I love the Capri smell.

It's a shame things never come to fruition though with them. Ideas are one thing.

I think that would be a lovely tie in with ARO for homewares.

cookienomstar · 15/05/2024 16:53

Oh OP, is there a way to change/add to the thread title to "pt 6?"

cookienomstar · 15/05/2024 16:54

Sorry I know the Nigeria tour is done, but Misan just posted these

Thanks Skullbabe for the new thread - placemarking to see if I can make a positive contribution or at least rebut negative ones !

I changed the numbering just because I added Harry in there so was a continuation but not - that’s why I put the number in the 1st post.

Ahh ok makes sense. I just saw the other title thread but knew it wasn't part of the original out and about series

I'm interested in this too. It's always nice to come back from a trip inspired, so I'm excited to see what Archewell does.

Very likely more partnerships with organizations in Nigeria and some US-based ones on the charitable front

Her new show, showcasing chefs/artists from different cultures and backgrounds? Sort of like with the Grenfell ladies, but with women from the Welcome Project, WCK, Nigerian and African projects and organizations?

Oooooooooooh! Imagine an episode of the future cooking show featuring a Nigerian dish... maybe puff-puffs?

😋😋😋

(though I don't think the Nigerian ones are the best - prefer those with rice flour!)
