H&M asked if they could have a lift home on AF1 after HMQs funeral.
Environmentally friendly sure, but makes them look grabby and entitled again. Makes for a good story though.

I was absolutely astounded when I heard they did that.

Apart from the kudos of being on AF1 what was the point ? Presumably AF1 was going to Washington so H and M would then have had to catch a flight to California? Unless they expected the President to do a detour ?

It reads as if Harry is not quite understanding that in the US , he is just another normal person. If it’s true, their team, or whoever first thought it was a good idea, are somewhat deluded.

If true, it’ll have been about PR rather than money won’t it- the inherent kudos of travelling on AF1… it’d look like the presidency endorsed them.

Its a bit weird that it's come out now 10 mths after the event.

I can't believe they didn't have flights booked. And we're they even going to the same place?
We're they thinking they'd get a connecting flight from Washington or expecting the president to fly them to LA?

DH and I recently attended the funeral of an acquaintence - not a close friend but important to show our faces for social reasons as the lady was very popular and well respected. We were limited on time, as DH is not as sprightly as he used to be but is still forced to work by his organisation...I need to make sure he's OK and well looked after, etc.

As we were leaving the funeral, the lady's grandson's wife hustled up to us and demanded a lift back home with us. We wouldn't normally mind but they live 2,300 miles out of our way and jet fuel's ridiculously expensive ever since we had some issues with our CF neighbours to the east. We're also not 100% keen on the grandson's wife since every conversation you have with her ends up making its way into the parish newsletter! So I said no and he looked pretty hacked off.

Was the grandson being a CF or AIBU?

President Biden left the UK at 2:30pm GMT after attending the Queen's funeral. Air Force One was in the air while Harry & Meghan attended the 4pm committal service in St. George’s Chapel & the private burial. How exactly were they going to get a lift ? And why would they want to end up in DC when they live in California, 2,500 miles away?

The president can’t just take anyone along at taxpayer expense. If they aren’t staff on official business he would have to pay for any guests.

This makes me wonder if Tyler Perry’s generosity was his own idea or if they were asking around for free accommodations.

They didn't have flights booked I assume as they were in the UK for other reasons when the Queen died and had to extend their stay.
