H&M asked if they could have a lift home on AF1 after HMQs funeral.
Environmentally friendly sure, but makes them look grabby and entitled again. Makes for a good story though.

I don't think that that means it's not true that they asked. They wouldn't have necessarily known the departure times of AF1 - the Bidens could have been flying back later in the evening, or the next day.

I'm not saying therefore it is true. But the fact that in the end it wasn't logistically possible doesn't mean that no one asked initially.

Personally, I doubt they would've missed the private family part of the Queen's funeral, to get a lift back to somewhere 2,500 miles away. But there you go....

It would have been a great feature for the Netflix saga if they had pulled it off.

Not to distract too much from the AF1 hilarity, but interesting today how the separation rumours have picked up steam and are now being reported in credible mainstream places like Sky Australia and the Spectator.

It's just that we have a sweepstake at work.

When the official engagement interview was aired, we clocked the body langauge and tone and most of us concluded that this was not a match made for eternity. So we chose years for divorce and put money in the pot. The pot will go to the winner's chosen charity.

I chose 2024 and my charity is Refuge (because Refuge is always my charity - not out of any shade thrown on H or M, lol). So if they can JUST HOLD OUT a little bit more until the end of the year, that's nearly £400 going to Refuge. I think it might actually be £400 - will check today.

I didn't say they would. I said that if they asked, presumably they did so before knowing when the Bidens were leaving and therefore didn't know it would mean missing part of the funeral.

Maybe that's why they didn't end up going on AF1. Maybe Biden was happy to have them, but then it turned out the timings didn't work. No one on this thread has any idea whether they asked, or whether they were told no.
