I don’t usually post on this board, but I found the account of what passed between William and Harry at Prince Philips funeral to be heartbreaking. Especially when William tries to keep hold of Harry and tells him that he loves him.

Where will it all end?

I don't know.
If Harry says they've made no effort to reconcile, yet in his own words describes how William hugged him and told him that he loved him, well, there's nothing more to be done.

ItsHitTheFanNow · 08/01/2023 12:05

I feel so sorry for William.

TiddyTidTwo · 08/01/2023 12:08

The more that comes out the more Harry's true personality is showing. He's just not a nice individual and a hypocrite. William must have been exasperated. Harry was never going to listen.

I feel sorry for William too, he’s seems a real family man, This must be so distressing for him.
i am increasingly of the opinion the firm have been covering for Harry for years and he may be very unwell.

Its just getting too much now, I did have sympathy for him at one point but I've just been reading this where PW told Harry that he believed he was being brainwashed by his therapist and he thought he was unwell and unwise.

Poor Willam has done his best, this must be utterly heartbreaking for him, he could see what was happening yet his hands were tied.

dear lord, is that a real extract regarding the matron? 🤯 I guess he’s just proven how phoney his newly assumed wokeness really was

FictionalCharacter · 08/01/2023 12:15

@TiddyTidTwo That’s really horrible. I’m sure plenty of men did and said some nasty things when they were kids, but surely most of them would either keep quiet about it or admit they were wrong.

CPL593H · 08/01/2023 12:16

I actually felt quite tearful this morning reading it, the "on Mummy's life" that Harry himself says was their code for being totally serious. The whole scene read strongly to me that William wasn't angry but really, really upset and desperate for him to listen.

So, so private though and yet again I think something that should have remained so.

Harrysfrostbittentodger · 08/01/2023 12:18

That’s a hard read. William swore on his mother’s life, they both know how serious this is to invoke her memory and swear on her name, yet Harry still thinks William’s declaration that he still loves him and just wants him to he ‘happy’ is insincere.

They are never going to reconcile are they?

Hbh17 · 08/01/2023 12:20

All so true, and the saddest thing thru all this is that Harry seems to forget that William lost his beloved mother too.

SuperFi · 08/01/2023 12:21

@CPL593H it really got to me too, thought I was just being soft.

@TiddyTidTwo abhorrent behaviour, although sadly not too surprised. There have been allegations/ rumour on CDAN for years about Harry’s treatment of women.

Also, I saw the headlines that William had ‘lunged’ at Harry after Philip’s funeral. I had assumed they had had another bust up and thought how disrespectful is that, at your father’s funeral.

Yet when you read the extracts it is the opposite, William is desperately trying to get Harry to look at him and listen to him. He’s telling him he loves him and wants the best for him.

The media must be having a field day with all these revelations. Proper sensationalist headlines!

heartbroken22 · 08/01/2023 12:22

If he really loves him then why didn't he listen to him instead of talking over him? He's a master manipulator. Do as I say or else. If he thinks you're out of his hands he'll shower you with love.

This. My heart breaks for William.

it would be interesting to see if Harry explains what is said before this. I’m assuming it’s trying to get Harry help/explain they think he is unwell (as above was said in another part of the book).

meghan has exploited him terribly and the result is awful. He’s clearly an idiot given his willingness to admit stuff like the Matron bullying but for fuck sake why has she let him publish this book?!

Surely, if anything it shows the kind of environment he grew up in at the palace. Where this (and other racism) is permissible.

It would NEVER occur to my dc, for example, to dish out this kind of treatment. They would not even think of it. It would not even occur to them that you can actually do this, that it would be an option is beyond the realms of their imagination.

Ramensoooop · 08/01/2023 12:47

It’s a reflection of him. And what’s also a reflection of him is how he tells that episode. The way he describes that poor woman, even now, shocking.

notanotheroneagain · 08/01/2023 12:49

The only time you could ever feel sorry for William is how he was brought up with such anger and entitlement.

Why would he want to attend H's therapy sessions. So he can control H at psychological levels. That is messed up.

I have seen H being called asshole, dick etc. on here, yet no one addresses William's unhinged rage and bullying.

He tells H to fight him back, so he can run to the tabloids to leak what a victim he is. Good Harry did not take the bait, as he would have wiped the floor with W.
He then tells him not to tell MM, because Camilla, Charles and Kate alraedy know about his temper.

William also took Diana's ring that H had preserved for years and told the media to spin it like H gave it to him.

He also put out his 'joint' statement that Harry never knew about, let alone sign off.

The level of his entitlement and control over H extends even to his beard. I remember seeing old footage of W snatching things from H (toys/pets etc.) but I don't expect their brotherly scraps to carry on through adulthood.

Don't care for Charles and Camilla, but him shouting and doing all this in front of Charles is bang out of order.

@TiddyTidTwo Where is that extract from? This combined with the ‘mounting’. It’s all a bit toxic masculinity.

If that extract/commentary about the matron is a fair account of what's in the book (does he expresses contrition for it?) then it's utterly despicable.

Teenage boys can and do make all sorts of horrible mistakes - I wonder if he goes on to say what he learned from it (and when)

Backstreetsbackalrightdadada · 08/01/2023 13:03

Wasn’t the beard because H wanted to wear military gear and they’re not allowed to have beards in the military?

There is NO way surely that excerpt about the matron is true? That’s vile misogyny, no way that can be in the book!!

If William had written that, would you have defended him?

CPL593H · 08/01/2023 13:20

@notanotheroneagain
Harry created this book and has been paid many millions of pounds for doing so. No one made him do it. No one made him talk about his "kills" in Afghanistan, or his drug taking, or how he lost his virginity, or the horrible passage referenced above where he appears to mock someone with a disability (which I hope is in the context of a profound apology in the full version) Not William or Charles or Camilla or Kate. Not the MSM.

People are reading stuff from it (admittedly in less than optimal translation but I doubt they are that far off) and drawing conclusions that are not Harry=perfect living saint /RF=evil. They have a right to do so.

Serious question-do you think Harry has any responsibility for what he brought in to being with this book and his own actions as described in it?

Nasty bullying children so often grow into similar adults, if not curbed. I think this is an extremely telling account of Harry’s personality, one which should have been addressed strenuously at that age. Poor Pat, I bet she was tired and sad. Horrible brat.

BethDuttonsTwin · 08/01/2023 13:22

And as for the account of William’s appeals, I too have a toxic family member and can relate to that desperation to connect but simply never being able to reach them no matter how much genuine love and emotion I displayed. He simply didn’t want to know.
