I don’t usually post on this board, but I found the account of what passed between William and Harry at Prince Philips funeral to be heartbreaking. Especially when William tries to keep hold of Harry and tells him that he loves him.

Where will it all end?

That depiction of Pat pretty much tells us how he views most other people. I was listening to the radio the other day and a psychologist came on to comment about the book and interviews. She said that he is describing pretty much everyone in this simplistic manner. Villain or saviour. Disney Princess or marvel character. That he has no empathy or compassion for the Royal family, his brother and father, their pain, difficulties or acknowledgment William also lots a mother. All through Harry’s lens. She didn’t criticise his therapist but did say he needed in depth work, which he hasn’t yet received and how she would approach therapy with him.

HoppingPavlova · 14/01/2023 07:47

meghan has exploited him terribly and the result is awful. He’s clearly an idiot given his willingness to admit stuff like the Matron bullying but for fuck sake why has she let him publish this book?!

Easy. She is canny enough to want ammo in the back pocket for if/when the get divorced (will happen if things die down and she feels the spotlight is slipping). She will then use it on how he is not fit to have custody of the kids, claim he is mentally unfit with long standing bad behaviours etc, and the evidence is all neatly laid out. So essentially, it’s because she is hedging her bets here.

This is known as “splitting” for anyone who’s interested. And is a symptom of various personality disorders and MH issues. Personally I think Harry has a personality disorder of some kind and extremely low emotional intelligence. Also his description of his behaviour as a child/teen and his family’s exasperation with his behaviour sounds very familiar to me from my previous work/study, and later being married (disastrously) to a man with undiagnosed ADHD. Undiagnosed and untreated ADHD has a notable correlation with the later development of personality disorders. This is the world we live in now though, extreme, unhealthy victimhood resulting from mental illness and pathologies is celebrated and encouraged.

Re William lunging at Harry and telling him " he wants the best for him" by what route?
Dumping Megan? Leaving her and going back to being the under dog?

It's all very well saying that but how can William know what's best for Harry.

Yet Harold appears to think he knows best for every person in his family, including three children who are not his and he barely knows. And is publicly telling everyone all about it.

@BethDuttonsTwin

That's fascinating! The splitting!
My db does that also.

Re Harry.....can I ask who was there to help him shape his world opinion? Who took on that " mother", role to give him the space for discussion about teasing people with anything " other".....

I have lots of chats with my DC about why we don't do it. Not that they need it.
Perhaps it's just not a thing within royal circle's? Re Andrew never questioning why lots of extremely young attractive girls were hanging around Epstein mansion?

Williams joked early on in COVID about worried people going to medics with a "cough" he was laughing as he said " do you tell them no it's just a cough",. In a really patronising way and as I was watching the news I personally felt extremely anxious for my youngest DC who had previously been rushed to a and e with breathing issues 3 times. So my fear early on in COVID was also access to medical help.

Obviously something William wouldn't have to worry about for himself and his DC? That comment, laughing at worried people put me right off him.

So maybe that's the culture? Who knows.

How much time did they spend with Charles? Did Camilla ever step into that role?

I could be wrong but I can't imagine Diana condoning laughing at Someone struggling?

Well Harry has hasn't told William about Kate as far as we know? . getting into someone's relationship will never ever end well.

It's their jounrey to take.

@Coucous ..again who was there to help shape the boys? Interaction with close loved ones in a safe space is where that usually occurs.
Who was there for them to do it?
Did Charles even get it from the queen?

MarshaMelrose · 14/01/2023 08:28

Williams joked early on in COVID about worried people going to medics with a "cough" he was laughing as he said " do you tell them no it's just a cough",.

Do you not think this might have come from working with medics in the air ambulance service? He must have heard lots of stories from doctors of exaggerated symptoms.

HaroldeVwilliam · 14/01/2023 08:28

Sometimes a "step mum" would step in and help but obviously in this situation the step mum caused their mum deep overwhelming pain so I guess that was a no go.
So I wonder was Charles able to recognize this and step up to the plate.
I'm guessing probably not.

TheVanguardSix · 14/01/2023 08:32

God, it’s exhausting observing this guy oscillating inside his echo chamber.

HaroldeVwilliam · 14/01/2023 08:34

Marsha I don't know where it came from but at a time when a new novel virus'is sweeping the UK with our government turning a blind eye whilst hundreds started to die in places like Italy and our NHS struggling in good times with no equipment I didn't find it funny.
As the parent of a child who had been let down by medics three times and rushed to a and e , I thought it was crass. Even in normal times it had been a struggle to get someone to assess my child.

Considering he will have immediate medical help for himself and his family.

Obviously he will never have had to go through the 8.30.am scrambled to get a docs appointment when you are stuck in a queue of 3o and then it's too late they have all gone. So you do it again at 2pm etc etc

I don't think Harry wants it to end. My sister can be like this. If she's unhappy and you apologise, she just doubles down and goes in against you even harder. She sees an apology as a sign of weakness in your armour.

Even if they apologised for everything he imagines has happened, he still won't be happy. Because moaning avout it is who he is right now. That defines him now. He's even received an award for it. There's no win for him in moving on. Who would he then have left to rail against? The press? Who would be interested in listening to that? Without the RF to push against, Harry would be lost.

HaroldeVwilliam · 14/01/2023 08:38

@Coucous ..I agree.

Maybe this is why they don't like Megan because Willam can't boss Harry around anymore.

He was perhaps a slightly parental figure for him and Kate....

If Harry had married someone " Meeker" they would have carried on in that role of older statesmen guiding wee Harry.

Instead he married a professional media person who actually did lots of aspects of their role far better especially public speaking!

And she is also older than him!

Serenster · 14/01/2023 08:39

And the wedding when they changed the seating arrangement because they wanted it done differently - not K+W's wedding to do that! Groomzilla and Bridezilla at someone else's wedding.

it’s now been reported that Harry and Meghan did this themselves when Meghan attended Pippa’s wedding as an evening guest. (In Finding Freedom it said the table plan had couples seated separately).

I think we’ll be waiting a long time before you describe them as Groomzilla and Bridezilla themselves though…

I'm not going over political covid arguments with you.

He wasn't meeting patients, he was meeting medics and using his past experience with medics to form a bond of understanding of their covid experiences.

I'm sure he never asked a covid patient, are you sure it's not just a cough?

Ohgodthepain · 14/01/2023 08:42

Diana's brother said at her funeral "I pledge that we, your blood family, will do all we can to continue the imaginative way in which you were steering these two exceptional young men so that their souls are not simply immersed by duty and tradition but can sing openly as you planned…"

I'm not sure he kept his promise and both W and H are damaged, H more so .

HaroldeVwilliam · 14/01/2023 08:43

Argh I see Marsha. Well you seem to remember that one clip very well? I only remember it because I was gobsmacked.

Ok so William and the medic's were all having a good laugh at desperately worried people with coughs.

HaroldeVwilliam · 14/01/2023 08:44

Oh god the pain.

Yes I've always wondered how involved that side where? Dianas sisters?

Didn't Harry have them his wedding?

I think it's a real shame Megan didn't just go for the Spencers tiara.

HaroldeVwilliam · 14/01/2023 08:45

Oh God the pain. .
We only know how Harry is because he talks about it. .
William could be equally or worse, we don't know.
