The royal family

Has Jeremy Clarkson just proved Harry and Meghan right?

On the radio it was discussing how Harry and Meghan said on Netflix that they got very upset in the past when newspapers would write horrible articles and the Royal Family institute would never have their backs and condone the articles in public.
so after the disgusting article that Jeremy wrote albeit his lame apology on Twitter, there has been no news as far as I am aware of the Royal Family saying violence written about Meghan etc is wrong.
so that being said haven’t they done what Meghan and Harry were moaning about that the Royal family never had their backs?

That article was reprehensible. Really, next level appalling.

Every decent-minded person - men, women, M&H fans, people who can't stand them, everyone should unite behind this kind of call to violence against women.

Staniel · 19/12/2022 18:22

*everyone should unite behind slamming this kind of call to violence

Finebonechina123 · 19/12/2022 18:26

Yes absolutely. Utterly vile and reprehensible. He should not have a platform to utter such vitriolic rhetoric.

fancyacuppatea · 19/12/2022 18:28

No.

dudsville · 19/12/2022 18:28

I mean, it's not the first bit of evidence.

Threadkillacilla · 19/12/2022 18:30

I think you're right the Palace are silent. They should be the loudest condemnation toward Clarkson.

Postgraddope · 19/12/2022 18:31

JC is a vile human being..cannot understand how ANY newspaper would publish such disgusting comments!

Staniel · 19/12/2022 18:31

Anyone who defends this kind of hate-speak, publically fantasising about violence towards a woman is just as reprehensible.

Even his own daughter distanced herself in no uncertain terms.

I agree

Georgeskitchen · 19/12/2022 18:37

The Royal family never respond to the vitriol some members have endured from the press. Why would they change that?

BringOnAutumn · 19/12/2022 18:37

Yes, I think so.

WomanhoodIsABirthright · 19/12/2022 18:37

They aren't working royals, they aren't part of the firm, despite still being allowed to keep titles, so they can't expect to benefit from the Royal Family machine.

Though that's been their whole problem all along. They've expected to get all the perks, without the work.

And that is the point that H&M are trying to make. Even if it's always been that way, how is it right that the press get away with what they do.....

TizerorFizz · 19/12/2022 18:41

Hadn’t Jeremy Clarkson and Piers Morgan just been to a tea gathering with our new Queen? It’s all about not engaging with such rubbish. Moving on. The Queen Consort is saying she has. She had a lot of flak directed at her.

Everyone knows Clarkson is outlandish. He’s out for himself. He knew exactly what he was doing. It’s Me Me Me and look at Me again. Like Piers Morgan and Boris Johnson. However we do have the notion of free speech here. Whether we like what’s said, or not.

Abra1t · 19/12/2022 18:43

Horrible thing to write. I am ambivalent about MM but that piece is indefensible.

Mamaneedsadrink · 19/12/2022 18:44

Yes that something so sick could be published. No to RF responding, not at this stage due to all that has happened.
Although if the thing about the lunch with him and Piers is true, well then that just proves everything doesn't it. That is a new low (not a fan of H&M), but this was quite shocking

Alighttouchonthetiller · 19/12/2022 18:47

I was amazed that column made it past the editorial team.

Didn’t he get invited to the big lunch Camilla was at last week? I don’t think she was at all responsible for the guest list but if he is representative of the sort of people asked to posh lunches then it doesn’t do her image much good.

They are family though.

The last week has been a gift to H&M in terms of making their point starkly clear.

First, Lady Hussey's racist interrogation. A close, life-long friend of the Queen who seemed at ease with words and an attitude that most people find abhorrent. Between that and prince Phillip you cam draw your own conclusion about whether there is tolerance to racism in the family or not.
Second, JC's appalling article.
Third, it comes to light that Queen Camilla attended a soirée where Piers Morgan was a guest, too (JC was there but this was before the article). He has been the most public representative of the MM haters and there is no way Camilla doesn't know that. The RF are either ot of touch or poorly advised.
Lastly, total silence from the RF. No condemning of the article. No distancing themselves from vile misogynists. Nothing.

Honestly you couldn't have made it up. What a car crash for the RF.

Pumperthepumper · 19/12/2022 18:56

I honestly think he’s done more to raise public sympathy for Meghan and Harry than the palace have. That article was horrible, and he’s just a bigoted dickhead.

Twopenceworthtoday · 19/12/2022 18:56

Absolute home goal from the lot of them

Malariahilaria · 19/12/2022 18:56

Meghan and Harry are mildly annoying but it's been clear for a long while that there is an active campaign against Meghan. As a mixed race woman I've been very unsettled by the difference in treatment when Meghan eats an avocado or touched her bump to Kate. I'm really not that interested in either of them these days but this article was beyond vile.

It's a rallying cry to all the racists and misogynists that 'it's okay lads, we can all say what we like now Jeremy has been published by a national newspaper'. It's not even the stripped naked and shit throwing that frightened me. It was bit bit about how much he hates a women he's never met ,more than a mass murderer....

HappiCamper · 19/12/2022 18:59

Can anyone link to the article? Where was it published?

StopThe · 19/12/2022 19:03

It's not the first bit of evidence is it
