Has Jeremy Clarkson just proved Harry and Meghan right?

On the radio it was discussing how Harry and Meghan said on Netflix that they got very upset in the past when newspapers would write horrible articles and the Royal Family institute would never have their backs and condone the articles in public.
so after the disgusting article that Jeremy wrote albeit his lame apology on Twitter, there has been no news as far as I am aware of the Royal Family saying violence written about Meghan etc is wrong.
so that being said haven’t they done what Meghan and Harry were moaning about that the Royal family never had their backs?

It's up to Harry and Meghan to sue Clarkson and his publisher to send a message about it, you know.

Since they have themselves lied about the RF and are no longer working Royals, they are not entitled to the RF PR machine.

They aren't working royals, they aren't part of the firm, despite still being allowed to keep titles, so they can't expect to benefit from the Royal Family machine.

Though that's been their whole problem all along. They've expected to get all the perks, without the work.

Just to correct you. Harry and Meghan were more than happy to remain as working royals and do 'the work'. They even were willing to cover the cost themselves. What they were not happy with was having the 'contract' with the press forced upon them.
That's hardly getting the perks without the work!

@justgettingthroughtheday but no one else gets that deal being a working royal so why would they ? And how would they fund it. They are having to do oprah and netflix to fund lifestyle , how would they then fund being working royals as the two don't always coincide

They were planning to merch their royal position via their websites, Sussex Royal, etc. Including endorsements of clothes, jewellery , etc. Incompatible with being working royals.

I am also disappointed in Hammond and May - maybe they spoke to him privately but they are colleagues. He might just respect what they say

That's not true.

I wish people would stop claiming the RF "never explain, never complain", because its complete bollocks.

They have released official statements condemning the press.
The Senior RF have all sued tabloid newspapers at one time or another.
The Queen sued both The Sun and The Mirror. Twice!

Off the top of my head:
▪︎ Sophie (when she wasn't a working royal) got caught in a fake Sheikh scandal.
Buck Palace released an official statement saying the story was riddled with inaccuracies and fictions. And was offensive.

▪︎ When Kate was Williams girlfriend. Kensington Palace released an official statement condemning the press harassment and it needs to stop. The intrusion was unbearable.

▪︎ A few years ago Kensington Palace, on behalf of W &K, issued a statement to the press condeming the dangerous tactics paparazzi have been using to take pictures of thier children. They want thir children to be free of harrasment and surveillance
(btw, the statement lists some examples of disturbing tactics the paps have used just to get a photo of the children)

I don't have any problem with the palaces making official statements to respond to the vitriol the RF have endured from the press.
And I don't have a problem with suing the tabloid press
In fact I applaud them for it.

But let's not pretend they keep silent. They don't.

Are you blaming Camilla for Jeremy Clarkson's drivel? I seriously hope not.

No it wasn't Camilla's lunch but I'd bet my last dollar that she knew exactly who would be there. At the very least all of her advisers and security knew who would be there. They would have to for security reasons.
So I judge her for attending a function that Piers Morgan was attending after all he has said and done towards Meghan. If she have a damn about Meghan or Harry and their feelings she would not have been in the same building as that man.

Everyone should condemn what he said about Meghan. It was vile and totally inappropriate to post.

Even if you don't care for H&M's public antics, any reasonable human being would see that Clarkson's article is appalling.

He's always been a racist, sexist, boorish individual, I've never understood why he or any of his programmes are so popular. Clarkson is absolutely vile.

There are agencies in existence whose job is to deal with that sort of hatred when it's published, there are Press Associations etc, all sorts of means of dealing with it. The RF wisely keep out of it. It's not their business, it's ours.

Well call me crazy, but I don't tend to walk through life randomly villifying people who might be lying, especially people who unturned their life over those events, becoming nationally hated and bullied. It makes no sense that they're lies?!

All I see is people following and defending the RF like a bunch of sheep, merely outraged that anybody could actually make the RF/Firm account for the accused behaviours, with nothing to actually back it up? Would you really be so docile in their apparent position?

Genuinely baffled as to what I'm missing.
