Camilla lifts girls arm up by sleeve cuff

I just saw this on Twitter and it is the most bizarre public engagement act I have ever seen from the Royal Family. Camilla lifts up a little girl's arm using the cuff of her sleeve.

I am very surprised at this. I thought Camilla saw a lot of her grandchildren so would be more comfortable with young children than this strange exchange shows. Camilla almost treats the little girl like an object rather than a living child.

Wow you must spend ages trawling the web to find random stuff

WinnieTheW0rm · 26/11/2022 18:18

Don't want to watch all of it - how far through is he bit you're on about?

Sweetlikechocolate6 · 26/11/2022 18:18

If you watched the full video she’s looking at the child’s bracelet first

DobbyTheHouseElk · 26/11/2022 18:18

I don’t see what you see OP. I thought she looked really caring. Probably a bit awkward with the the view and the camera, it’s not a natural situation.

MrsMia · 26/11/2022 18:21

Camilla's being very gentle and lovely. YABU.

Bloody autocorrect. For “the view” please read. Teddies. Wha a random autocorrect.

Lalalaleeloo · 26/11/2022 18:24

Just ignore. Don't engage.

antelopevalley · 26/11/2022 18:24

@samcro People on twitter are pointing out it is bizarre.
Kind and gentle?
Would you be happy if a stranger to your young DD suddenly gently lifted her arm using the cuff of her sleeve? I have no idea why she did this. It appears an attempt to get the girls attention.

It is at 1.04/1.05

It's a bit odd... can't work out what she's trying to do. She does seem quite gentle and caring, she's not being rough. Seems more awkward than anything else.

Idratherbepaddleboarding · 26/11/2022 18:28

No weird at all, she’s just looking at her bracelet.

MarshaMelrose · 26/11/2022 18:29

She raised her arm by her sleeve and then held her arm. She looked like she was being gentle and respectful.
You are obsessed with the RF. As someone who has said no one is interested in them, you seem to spend a lot of your time reading and writing about them.

antelopevalley · 26/11/2022 18:30

She lifts her arm quite high. I think it is an attempt to get the girls attention after watching it a few times. And although gentle it shows a surprising awkwardness with young children I did not expect to see.

Seems like people are looking for drama.

I don't think I'd need to be resuscitated if someone lifted my child's arm by the sleeve, no. She's looking at her bracelet.

Nishky32 · 26/11/2022 18:33

Thank goodness someone has shown the whole video as twitter users have usually just shown a very short clip which did look very odd- she points at the bracelet, raises her arm and then appears to talk about the bracelet- makes sense now

DobbyTheHouseElk · 26/11/2022 18:34

Why is this bothering you.

Blueroses99 · 26/11/2022 18:36

She’s looking at the bracelet

JellyfishandShells · 26/11/2022 18:36

It was an edited video, designed to give the wrong impression. She was admiring the girl’s bracelet.

floradora · 26/11/2022 18:36

I've seen this on Twitter, suggesting this is further evidence of racism in theRoyal Family - maybe it is, or maybe off camera the little girl just picked her nose, or wiped her nose with her hand or had paint on it.

antelopevalley · 26/11/2022 18:38

You do not have to lift up a child's arm by the cuff to admire a bracelet. If I was in a school I would just say that is a pretty bracelet.
I do not think that is what is happening anyway. I think she is trying to get the girls attention.

Yes, she does seem very awkward with the children. None of the kids seemed to like her and the baby cried!

ferneytorro · 26/11/2022 18:43

I haven't seen this video but I'm constantly amazed by how up close and personal the royals get with people they meet, often people who quite obviously aren't on top of their personal hygiene - usually for quite legitimate reasons. Contrasted with the story of Robbie Williams dousing himself in hand sanitiser after touching the hoi polloi.

Quite clearly she's trying to look at the bracelet but because the child is so young and distracted she's oblivious so camilla ends up fumbling (possibly age related) trying to lift her arm and look at the bracelet and ending up lifting the cuff at the same time.

it's an absolute non event of Camilla just trying to be nice and interested.

She's just a bit stiff and awkward.

BigBamBoom · 26/11/2022 18:46

That just looks like a slightly awkward attempt to engage with a kid with sticky hands.
