Camilla lifts girls arm up by sleeve cuff

I just saw this on Twitter and it is the most bizarre public engagement act I have ever seen from the Royal Family. Camilla lifts up a little girl's arm using the cuff of her sleeve.

I am very surprised at this. I thought Camilla saw a lot of her grandchildren so would be more comfortable with young children than this strange exchange shows. Camilla almost treats the little girl like an object rather than a living child.

I cannot help but think that those who obsess about finding fault with strangers must lead such desperately sad little lives.

What a shame. Imagine being pitied for that by strangers on the internet.

Emmelina · 27/11/2022 10:45

She did hold the little girl’s hand too, think she looked a bit shellshocked and unsure who this strange lady was! It was all very gentle. Maybe she’s still feeling a bit awkward around so many engagements in her new role. I’m sure her grandkids are all over her!

Twitter are apparently calling her racist now that she didnt want to touch the child ! Anything to complain about the RF.
antelopevalley you seem to trawl the media looking for reasons to disparage the RF>

Only certain members. Two of them can’t put a foot wrong.

I think there is far more bullying on MN than Twitter.

lol

ArcaneWireless · 27/11/2022 13:21

There is certainly a lot of muzzling going on.

I often think that if you don’t speak shite you won’t get called out on it.

It always amazes me that on some social media platforms some are exceptionally willing to pass judgement on others but very much shut down any judgement towards them.

My dear old nan used to say ‘don’t dish it out if you can’t take it’.

She also used to say ‘don’t speak shite’.

Two little life lessons that should be heeded by some I feel.

@IcedPurple I do not know what you mean by squaddies. Army personnel?

It is surprising. I would have thought a mother and grandmother would know how to engage with young children less awkwardly.

So I will address this comment to make it clearer for anyone not on Twitter what is happening with some of these royal ‘trending’ stories.

There is a group of the most passionate Harry and Meghan fans who call themselves the Sussex Squad - they post constantly on Twitter either pro Sussex couple stories trying to elevate their favourites’ events and appearances or negative stories about members of the royal family who they perceive to be enemies of Harry and Meghan. They utilize hashtags for these different story campaigns to try to make these stories trend so that they will get picked up by media organizations or shared elsewhere off Twitter.

This story about Camilla is an example of one of their negative campaigns - someone edited a short version of this video and it was then posted and shared repeatedly as an example of how racist Camilla is - that she didn’t want to touch a person of colour.

They do negative stories about Kate using the hashtag KKKate to imply she is racist too. The Squad was the main driving force for the prince of pegging hashtag at the time it was being talked about.

On the other side of the spectrum the extreme BRF fans get anti Meghan and Harry tweets trending too - see #princeharryisatraitor #meghanisalier etc as examples.

And yet some lower themselves to rake through that Twitter shite and take it as gospel or spin it for their own agenda.

Un’anima nera.

😂🤣

Please post that on the countless M&H threads on MN!

For what it's worth I think the Sussex Squad or whatever they call themselves are deranged and to be avoided at all costs!

As for Camilla, I don't think there's anything untoward and I think we're more used to seeing Kate or Meghan more natural with little kids and Camilla was just a bit awkward . The little girl looks a real cutie, I love how children are such a leveller and just stare or wander off?

Absolutely - including the tabloids - it’s cheap and quick click bait just like reusing MN stories which we know they do all the time. Half of Trump’s media coverage came from the papers repeating all the vile things he said on Twitter. It was such a relief when he was banned.

I think it’s important to do a little extra research before sharing a trending Twitter story for discussion - check first to see if the reason it’s trending is because of a campaign by a particular interest group to forward an agenda or whether it’s trending because of normal organic interest from regular users.

And of course double check if the Tweet is based off a photo or video that it’s not been manipulated some way by editing.

ArcaneWireless · 27/11/2022 19:02

Rousette

I think we sometimes have different views but can discuss it or refute some claims with a bit of savvy and compassion.

For me, the vitriol shown from both pishy little camps is astounding.

Criticising actions when there is something to criticise? Fair doos.

Making up poisonous shite or trawling Twitter for a screenshot which doesn’t portray the whole story to show your allegiance ? Shameful.

My little life is sad in its own little way. Pretty much work and sleep. Thank fuck it isn’t as sad as some folks.

ArcaneWireless · 27/11/2022 19:06

And aye. Well said wordler 👏🏼

ArcaneWireless · 27/11/2022 19:18

Me too Rousette and I bet the Royals do too. It must be refreshing after all the ps and qs being minded.

I love seeing Camilla with horses and dogs too. Same as the late Queen. Right in there with nary a care. Not worrying about a half pint of slobber or hairs.

I think she’ll be just fine. Even if folk are going on about bloody sleeves.

Not funny in my opinion. I'm no royalist, but that's just an unpleasant comment to make about any woman.

ArcaneWireless · 27/11/2022 19:24

I rest my case…

antelopevalley · 27/11/2022 19:28

@wordler I have zero idea if the prince of pegging rumours are true. But what fans of William do not realise is those rumours boosted his reputation in the eyes of a lot of people on Twitter.

Lol! Made him more interesting?

ArcaneWireless · 27/11/2022 19:32

What were you saying about the squad Rousette?

Deranged wasn’t it?

antelopevalley · 27/11/2022 19:33

I think the hardcore fans on both sides are a bit deranged.

I also think those who drag up endless rubbish - faux naïveté style - could claim that title too.
