Camilla lifts girls arm up by sleeve cuff

I just saw this on Twitter and it is the most bizarre public engagement act I have ever seen from the Royal Family. Camilla lifts up a little girl's arm using the cuff of her sleeve.

I am very surprised at this. I thought Camilla saw a lot of her grandchildren so would be more comfortable with young children than this strange exchange shows. Camilla almost treats the little girl like an object rather than a living child.

It was trending.
Maybe in topics for me? I don't know. But I had thought it was general topics.

Yes, topics for you because you clearly follow a lot of those foul Sussex Squad accounts.

It was not trending this evening. Everyone is focussed on the football, not trying to distort an entirely mundane encounter between the queen and a little girl. Maybe you should do the same.

HerRoyalNotness · 26/11/2022 19:54

You’re reaching a bit there. Did you also see when she’s giving the little tot a cuddle?

MarshaMelrose · 26/11/2022 19:54

Maybe it was trending in the "obsessed by hatred of the RF" topics?

Individewl · 26/11/2022 19:55

antelopevalley · 26/11/2022 19:46

@Individewl I have not once said it was racism. That was you and another poster.

I have said quite the opposite the “yes she is most definitely racist” was meant in sarcasm hence the eye roll nor did I say you said she is racist.

ItsAWoozyItsAWazzy · 26/11/2022 19:55

She's lifting her bracelet up to lol at it and then grabs her wrist. Calm down OP

ItsAWoozyItsAWazzy · 26/11/2022 19:55

*look

@Individewl I have not once said it was racism. That was you and another poster.

But you are absolutely implying it. Let's get real here.

Just as you were hinting at marriage troubles in your infamous post about Kate 'not' wearing her wedding ring.

@MissMarpleRocks Yeah looking at Twitter, seeing an issue trending and posting it on here is a clear sign of obsession.
Unlike those posters who as soon as I set foot in the Royal Family board come out of the woodwork within minutes to insult me. Every, Single, Time.
Who exactly is obsessed?

I hope I haven’t insulted you.

I was just rather taken aback to notice for the first time how many of the Royal Board threads have you as OP or main contributor.

Why is this such a big topic for you, if it isn’t rude to ask? You are startlingly prolific.

antelopevalley · 26/11/2022 20:01

I was not implying it.
I was saying she was surprisingly awkward and I was surprised at that.

antelopevalley · 26/11/2022 20:02

@MetellaInHortoEst The Royal Board has very few posts. I last posted a topic I think about a week ago. It does not take much to be prolific on here.

@iced That is incredibly nasty of you. You know as I have told you a number of times that I posted that as I could not see the ring. I have a visual disability. As soon as someone said it was there I apologised.
You are simply being incredibly nasty and it is not the first time.

@BigMandsTattooPortfolio Neither I nor anyone on this thread has suggested this is racism. I said it was incredibly awkward.

But what we’re you implying?

That is all quite hyperbolic. What are you getting at?

Actually you have never told me that. Nor do I remember you mentioning it on the original thread. If you have a visual disability which means you couldn't see the ring you started a thread about, then it was up to you to point that out to readers at the time.

Good to hear that you are in no way implying that the queen's behaviour was racist though. Because that is precisely what the foul squaddies have been doing.

anotherdayanotheralias · 26/11/2022 20:10

I feel a bit sorry for Camilla in this situation. All eyes are on her and the kiddies aren't playing along with the script of the royal visit. Hiding to nothing.

Ah I see. Maybe that’s it.

This thread is still confusing me but maybe it was wrong to call you prolific. I didn’t look at dates.

I haven't seen this video but I'm constantly amazed by how up close and personal the royals get with people they meet, often people who quite obviously aren't on top of their personal hygiene - usually for quite legitimate reasons. Contrasted with the story of Robbie Williams dousing himself in hand sanitiser after touching the hoi polloi.

Haha this really made me chuckle and I can’t help but respond. It’s giving me 19th century vibes - surely you know the royals are just human beings that just happened to be born (or voluntarily married) into this life, rather than them carrying some sort of divine right who therefore must be separated from ‘the unhygienic masses’

@IcedPurple I said it on the original thread. Just read it. And I am sure I have told you again.
I prefer not to judge intentions without knowing them. I can see Camilla is awkward in lifting the child's arm. I think it is a strange action but I can image someone doing it who has no experience of kids at all. Which is why it surprised me that Camilla would do this.
If she is so awkward around kids when being filmed, her PR really should avoid sending her to events like this. Very young kids do not play long along, so you have to be pretty confident and relaxed around them.

OP posts:
MetellaInHortoEst · 26/11/2022 20:14

Oh I see. Back story. I’ll tiptoe out.

antelopevalley · 26/11/2022 20:16

@met Only back story is usual posters who attack anyone who does not say the Royal Family are wonderful god bless them, except that nasty Harry and Meghan. Only acceptable narrative on here.

I don't think Camilla is a 'natural' around children, unlike Kate. Not everyone is, and that's fine.

But this interaction, though slightly awkward, really isn't bad at all. The only people trying to twist it into something it's not are the wretched 'squaddies' on Twitter. And we all know exactly why they are doing that, however much you may like to play the faux naif here.

antelopevalley · 26/11/2022 20:17

@MrsThimbles Nope not quite what I said, which you know.
