Camilla lifts girls arm up by sleeve cuff

I just saw this on Twitter and it is the most bizarre public engagement act I have ever seen from the Royal Family. Camilla lifts up a little girl's arm using the cuff of her sleeve.

I am very surprised at this. I thought Camilla saw a lot of her grandchildren so would be more comfortable with young children than this strange exchange shows. Camilla almost treats the little girl like an object rather than a living child.

What a complete non-issue. Honestly, have people nothing better to do with their lives than trawl through endless hours of footage to come up with something so totally innocuous as this, and then try to turn it into a scandal?

Pathetic. Get a life.

Ah I see this story is on your go to bitchy celeb website where you normally find your anti Camilla/anti Kate/anti William posts OP...

WinnieTheW0rm · 26/11/2022 19:24

I don't see anything wrong with the action.

She holds and moves the DC's wrist/cuff because she is admiring a bracelet, and the DC is entirely happy

Cherryana · 26/11/2022 19:24

She did nothing wrong. This is so bizarre.

healthadvice123 · 26/11/2022 19:24

Maybe stay off twitter OP or at least watch whole videos not edited ones people put on twitter to make it seem how they want it
Its amazing how many people believe all they see on twitter , its almost worrying that people can believe anything and not research things for themselves

antelopevalley · 26/11/2022 19:24

@onlythreenow Do you understand going on to Twitter, seeing a story trending and reading it? Do you understand that you do not have to find a story yourself to post about it? You can read newspapers, watch TV news or just look at what is trending on Twitter?

I like Camilla and I don’t believe that she’s a racist.

antelopevalley · 26/11/2022 19:25

@healthadvice123 Except I did research it and posted the full video. And it shows exactly the same thing.

OP posts:
antelopevalley · 26/11/2022 19:26

@BigMandsTattooPortfolio Neither I nor anyone on this thread has suggested this is racism. I said it was incredibly awkward.

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 26/11/2022 19:26

There's nothing wrong with it.

LadyKenya · 26/11/2022 19:28

Nothing wrong has happened here OP. Camilla was trying to engage with the little girl. I am not a fan of the royals in general, but honestly your thread is unfair.

connie26 · 26/11/2022 19:28

She doesn't seem like she's very comfortable and is probably not a natural with kids. I don't think there's anything else to fuss about here.

healthadvice123 · 26/11/2022 19:31

@antelopevalley well clearly not as you would see looking at a bracelet and you are a bit obsessed with the royal family , you post about them a fair bit for someone who doesn't like them. Maybe just don't read about them it might make you feel better

MysteryBelle · 26/11/2022 19:32

What struck me about the video was the behavior of the children. They all seemed zoned out and in a fog. As if they were unaware of anyone in the room. It was strange. It looked like Camilla was trying to engage but didn’t want to grab the little girl’s hand since she seemed so out of things, like the others. Limp and slow moving. Not quite awake.

No but you've decided to repeat a trending story from twitter yesterday (which was very much about racism - though I think that was a faux-disingenuous malice). So whatever your intent, your effect has been to promote that discussion on racism. And I do not think you are unaware of that

This sums it up

healthadvice123 · 26/11/2022 19:33

@blacksax yes seems that is all some have to do
Twitter just seems a pretty awful place to me
Mostly bullying hiding behind a screen from some of what I have seen on there
I joined for a few days , then left

antelopevalley · 26/11/2022 19:33

I think there is far more bullying on MN than Twitter.

I don't think they were zoned out. You are almost implying they were drugged. They are just children.

Individewl · 26/11/2022 19:40

Oh yes she’s most definitely racist eye roll Even if she is I doubt that can be decided from this one small interaction!

Imagine you have to walk into an EYFS setting with all those cameras, of course that’s going to be difficult. Then imagine you have a small awkward interaction with a child and people begin to over scrutinise it and insinuate you are either racist or you don’t know how to interact with young children! FGS give the woman a break!

Just the same as all those that scrutinise Megan M’s every move.

antelopevalley · 26/11/2022 19:46

@Individewl I have not once said it was racism. That was you and another poster.

Where is it 'trending'? I've had a look and even going back several hours, this non issue, which happened yesterday, not today, is not trending. Almost all the trending topics are about the World Cup.

I'm guessing when you say 'trending' what you mean is that the wretched 'Sussex squad' are desperately trying to make a slightly awkward, but entirely innocent interaction into something it's not.

antelopevalley · 26/11/2022 19:50

It was trending.
Maybe in topics for me? I don't know. But I had thought it was general topics.
