The trailer has just been released and I can’t wait!

It’s probably my favourite programme atm so it’s a shame it’s ending but I’d rather that than it getting repetitive and dragged out.

Gosh. So much happened. Hurry up and watch, everyone.

JaneFondue · 22/05/2023 19:37

Agree @XelaM Jeremy Strong was fire in this episode. All his method acting condensed into 5 minutes!

That was amazing. Roman, wow.

redrobin75 · 22/05/2023 21:19

The most amazing episode, Jeremy Strong is outstanding.

burnoutbabe · 22/05/2023 21:33

I am only watching as boyfriend loves it but it's funny no one says "no shit Sherlock" to shiv's announcement.

I mean she is blooming!! Noticeably since "last night"/ election night.

hopeishere · 22/05/2023 21:37

Amazing episode. Tragedy and comedy all at once. Jeremy Strong was amazing.

I find Menken very handsome!

Eyesopenwideawake · 22/05/2023 21:44

I am emotionally wrung out. That was amazing - how are they going to top it in the finale?

Netaporter · 22/05/2023 21:48

@Blondbombsite i think we’re gonna need another thread shortly. Do you want to do the honours?

I think there is something significant in how they all keep underestimating Greg, and writing him off as a bumbling idiot- and yet he still keeps rising to the top. In this episode particularly- Tom making him be his coffee boy, Shiv giving him weak threats (she should have just offered to bring him in, but she doesn't see him as a serious person) when in the end he held all the cards, both in terms of the Shiv info and also the scene with Jess where he talked about the enormity of delivering his message.

Out of all the characters he's the only one who has changed really since the start- they've all always been bad people but he started off gentle and earnest and over time has wound up as awful as the rest of them because he's been pulled into their world. I don't know if Greg will be the one to take the crown (I don't know if I believe any of them will take the crown) but I think that he shouldn't be underestimated.

I agree with this (apart from him being 'gentle and earnest'; I think he's always been a shit.
My DP thinks Greg always just 'happens' to be in the right place/time/situation to cause havoc, but I think it happens so often... Maybe he really DOES just find himself there, but if so he certainly sees immediately how to turn the siblings against each other, use people like Matsson, and keep himself in some sort of power.
They absolutely do all underestimate him, and overlook him because they feel he's weaker than them and they enjoy kicking him around. It's a blind spot for all of them.
If Greg does end up on top I think it will be through a combination of luck (right place/right time) and knowing how to turn things to his advantage.
I never forget that he is the only person who ever seems to have landed a proper blow on Logan, at his birthday when Logan asked to be roasted and Greg said 'Where are your children today?' That went right to the jugular.

We're on a new thread @MarkWithaC !

Ah, thank you. I wanted to reply to that post though and am an ep behind, so didn't want to go on the new thread and spoiler myself...
