Anyone excited for the final season of Succession? *Spoiler alert*

Agree with ATN calling it too early and incorrectly - and Tom is going to have a heart attack. All the being tired and under immense pressure, taking coke and stuff, feels like it's leading up to it.

Yes, I heard Matthew McFayden on the succession podcast and he emphasised how tired Tom has been over the past few weeks….he’s gonna come a cropper!

If anyone is on Instagram then Keeley Hawes is posting photos of their Italy holiday and Matthew is looking particularly fine.

It feels like it would be a bit overly dramatic to have Logan have a stroke and then Tom a heart attack basically a week later. I agree, though - the tiredness and the coke is going somewhere. But maybe he's going to be forced to step down for 'health reasons'.

I just feel like a shock death is too soap opera for Succession- same as a surprise pregnancy etc. The reason it's so good is because it is dramatic and shocking without any of those usual TV twists and turns.

MM deserves all the acting accolades just by being able to be so unattractive despite - as KH's candid Instapics show - being sex on a stick in real life.

Just watched it again. Masterpiece. Something will definitely happen to Tom next week I think - it finished with the news playing his decision to call it for Mencken and questioning it. Linked with him being tired, taking coke, falling out with Shiv. Maybe a breakdown?
Also - Greg. What. A. Snake. I'm sure he was smiling at Shiv after dobbing her in to Ken.
Roman was unhinged this week. Superb acting.
Wonder if Shiv can pull it out of the bag with Matsson.
And as pp have said, wouldn't be surprised if Mencken turns out to have lost.

Yep, Tom for the fall. Blood definitely thicker than water and all that. Interesting to see how Greg ends up, his character has changed so subtly and yet so much, another example of brilliant writing. Be interesting so see what Uncle Euan makes of it all.

Also I wonder if Kerry will be allowed to the funeral?

I really think it's a shame that Kerry has vanished out of sight so completely - what a waste of a fantastic actor. Mind you, it's such a shame we've not seen more of Marcia either (and there is never enough Gerri).

Totally agree. LOVED Gerri laying down the law with Roman last week. She's such a great character

On a brighter note, Caroline is back for the funeral next week. I hope they give her some decent airtime. She's the most deliciously acidic character in the whole show 😊

I love lady Caroline too - what a great character and goes some way to explaining how the kids are so f@cked up…this episode didn’t grab me and it just felt very samey. Am pleased this is final series because I think the story isn’t as fresh as it seemed in earlier series.

The story was never going to stay fresh because each series IS the same story - wrestling for control of the company. But the journey is so entertaining.

I agree, and I guess that's inevitable. I'm really enjoying this series, but I'm glad it's coming to an end

The best TV shows know when to call it a day! Nothing worse than a programme dragging on past its best for the sake of it.

Not that I agree it's dragging yet, I'm as compelled by it now as I ever was.

It's interesting that most of the cast didn't seem to know it was the end until they saw the script for the final ep- makes me wonder if anything even that dramatic or final happens. Maybe they just end up in the same cycle of being awful and fighting for the top spot for the rest of their lives... that's their destiny!

In the funeral episode I want the wake to be back at the house and Marcia to be going round flogging everything within it.

God yes, that would be amazing - and definitely what Marcia would do. Connor and Willa are gonna move in and discover she's flogged all the door handles and curtain poles and light fittings.
