I have always loved the way they can spin your opinion of the characters around totally in the course of an episode. Roman at the start, so sure of himself, setting out his route to the top, so loathsome, crumples and sobs like the little boy he is and you can't help but cry with him, and then at the end he's fighting for his dad in the only - meaningless - way left to him. Shiv muscles in to speak after Ken, delivers an entirely pointless and terrible eulogy, but is the one making deals at the wake.

I’m going on holiday so plan to download it on my phone to watch on the plane!

I still don’t think anyone will “win” as such, and they’re all just destined to be stuck in this cycle of mind games and fighting forever because that’s all they’ve ever known.

I recently rewatched the last episode of Peep Show, and that basically ends right where the characters first started- nothing that had happened in between meant anything in the end. Made me wonder if Jesse Armstrong has a similar fate in mind for this.

Best line of the night "I thought you were just eating your feelings" Roman to Shivs pregnancy announcement.

Wowsers, that was incredible! Romulus crumbing, Shiv scheming (although Mattson will cut her loose when/ if the deal is done) and Kendall metaphorically donning Logan's old man cardigan of power.

Hoping to see more of Gerri in next week's episode, and feeling that over-promoted Greg will be pivotal in the final shenanigans. Can't quite work out how he's managed to work his way into Mattson's circle of trust?

The writing is a thing of beauty. I have loved Rom throughout. But Shiv is horrendous and I had a bit of a tear driving the balcony row with her and Tom. They are all awful and brilliant. Can't believe it will soon be over! Think I will probably start from the beginning again in fairness.

Intense episode

So many discussion points, but one thing I quite liked was the eulogy from Logan’s brother. Really appreciated some background on him and how trauma mapped out his life. I’ve always wondered how he’d got to be the way he was. And then the generational trauma he’s created….yikes

But in that sense, I’m sort of happy Roman finally broke down. He really needed to. He’s so fucked up. All that jerking off to Shiv breastfeeding, god, gross.

The acting is so good though, from the whole cast. I believe every one of them.

That was just brilliant brilliant brilliant. The opening scene. Kendall’s eulogy. Roman’s breakdown. The mausoleum. Matsson’s
funeral look 😁 My god. I want to immediately watch it all again. Some of it was physically painful to watch, and then in the next breath laugh out loud funny. I will be bereft next week when it’s all over!

Oh Caroline was just delicious with Tom and Shiv. And “she was my Kerry” 😂

That episode was insanely good

Loved the inclusion of Kerri in the four women. Roman and Kendall were superb

Matsson so hunched over and nerdy! AS is brilliant in this but then they all are. The writing elevates them all.
Roman just goes into disgusting jokes/innuendo overdrive when he’s feeling vulnerable.

I think we had just the perfect amount of Caroline - not a word or look was wasted!

Another amazing episode. I’ll be back with more thoughts tomorrow but some little moments I loved were Logan’s exes all coming together, the fact that despite being an awful mother Caroline was still the only person to realise Shiv was pregnant, Peter Munion trying to muscle his way in and being knocked back and Greg riding a bike to the funeral.
