Following on from the last thread.

We're currently up to where Roy has been arrested for (allegedly) killing Lauren, and Roy's dog has been stolen and the thieves are saying the dog won't be returned until Roy admits his guilt.

Leanne is being drawn into a weird cult.

Toyah is arrested for criminal damage for attacking someone's car. (Someone who thinks Roy buried Lauren in the park!) And she doesn't seem quite herself. What is wrong with her?

Joel and DeeDee are on-again-off-again ...

I'm sure there's a few more bits and bobs going on, but there's plenty of space on this thread (and time) to catch up. Smile

I don’t even remember her having any kind of bump in Classic Corrie and didn’t Janice start seeing Dennis after Toyah left the cobbles?

Yep. Someone posted a tweet earlier on Twitter/X, with a photo of Toyah in 2001, when she would have been 6 months pregnant. THIS is the pic. She was meant to be 6 months pregnant here.

It doesn't add up.

I am hoping it's a fantasy in Toyah's head, as this storyline is pretty stupid.

That's Eileen out for a while then. Off to help Jason who is in Thailand with a broken back!

Amazing how on TV, it's so easy just buggar off to the other side of the world at the drop of a hat, for many months. Just leaving your job and family and home etc. 😆 And they always have a money tree to pick from when they need a few thousand £££!

I’m not understanding what’s going on with Tod and the will.

Yeah I can't work out what's going on there either. Confused

Toyah telling Nick about the baby and visiting the grave with Leanne had me in tears

EachandEveryone · 24/04/2024 21:03

Please dont let Toyah get off with Nick

TellingBone · 24/04/2024 21:11

Are we supposed to gather that Glenda should have got half the business and George didn't tell her?

Bagpuss2022 · 24/04/2024 21:19

I think he didn’t know about the will as it’s not his character but goodness knows w have Roy locked up for murder and toyah burying her baby way bacl
when

SabreIsMyFave · 24/04/2024 21:27

Yes, I have just rewatched the last 10 minutes of Corrie. So yes, apparently Todd has found a hidden will of George's. (HOW?! How did Todd find this?!) And it seems half the Shuttleworth Funeral business belongs to Glenda, and it's not all George's. Why would Todd inherit it though? He is not a relative.

Also, why would Glenda not have inherited half of it it anyway? She was Archie Shuttleworth's child, as well as George. Surely, Glenda would inherit half the business before Todd? Confused

Edited

I know some women don’t know they’re pregnant until they give birth so I can maybe understand that but I do agree about the storyline. Now it’s been aired, this is the spoiler I saw in the DM and I didn’t understand it then

Hidden in an unlocked filing cabinet! 😫

I think Todd is expecting George to leave the business in the Will to him? Not that he is expecting it now?

I may have misunderstood that though!

JellyBeanFactory · 25/04/2024 00:17

The way is just understood is was:

Todd found an old will where Archie Shuttleworth left the funeral business 50/50 to George and Glenda.
We don't know if George knew this and has ignored it or if old man Shuttleworth wrote a later will leaving 100% to George.

Either way, George owns (or we are led to believe) all of the business and in his own will, he is handing the whole thing over to Todd.
Now, if George really only owns half of it, he can only leave half of it to Todd - hence Todd not wanting to show George the will he found.

Hope that makes some sort of sense!

I stopped watching Corrie months ago, it's just so farcical and over dramatic like Emmerdale.
I had no idea Lauren was dead! As if Roy would murder anyone

Kapaj · 25/04/2024 06:58

Am I the only person in Britain who doesn't like Roy? No common sense and never uses one word if he can use ten. He's even worse in prison, waffling on.

AmusedMaker · 25/04/2024 07:12

Toyah & Nick affair here we come.

Roy is autistic
He's naive and vulnerable, it's not a lack of common sense.

Shows exactly how ND people are discriminated against.

No one apart from the silly police think she’s dead and the evidence they have in Roy is very flimsy so I still think Lauren will walk in and be like “hiya”

there was blood in her flat...and she had left food out suggesting she left in a hurry. Presumably the assumption of death is based on the blood? She may well be being held hostage of some kind or unable to leave where she is but I can't see her walking back in like nothing has happened. It's not logical.

Lorrymum · 25/04/2024 11:18

Does George still have his house, or has it been forgotten?

Hellendegenerate · 25/04/2024 11:28

Toyah and her sad story oh dear 😕

It was all very rushed with her confession to Nick and then before we knew it Leanne was by her side at the secret grave 😕

It's as though the writers thought they'd come up with an explosive storyline but then just raced through it. I assumed the bones would have been discovered somehow and we would be subjected to Toyah's blubbery pained whining for weeks to come. No there are more important things to keep us watching, like Archie's will and Glenda's over acting and Todd's side glances and plotting and

@EnglishBluebell There has been no confirmation that Lauren is dead, she is just missing at the moment. Roy has been arrested for her murder (even though they have no body yet!) because of what appears to be fairly strong circumstantial evidence. (Like him cleaning her flat from top to bottom with bleach.) He did this as a favour to her when she left so she would get her full deposit back - but the cops think he did it to hide traces of Lauren's blood! Shock
