Following on from the last thread.

We're currently up to where Roy has been arrested for (allegedly) killing Lauren, and Roy's dog has been stolen and the thieves are saying the dog won't be returned until Roy admits his guilt.

Leanne is being drawn into a weird cult.

Toyah is arrested for criminal damage for attacking someone's car. (Someone who thinks Roy buried Lauren in the park!) And she doesn't seem quite herself. What is wrong with her?

Joel and DeeDee are on-again-off-again ...

I'm sure there's a few more bits and bobs going on, but there's plenty of space on this thread (and time) to catch up.

I am finding just about everything in Corrie is farcical and so disappointing these days but a glimmer of hope is Swain/Carla (Swarla?! ) having a passionate affair. 🥰

I don't think Carla has ever shown any signs of liking women, but you never know!!! Anything can happen in Soap land! And as has been said, there did seem to be a few sparks between them.

I agree and my comments were in jest as while I can imagine Swain doing the part well it would be amusing to see Carla actress perform probably through gritted teeth 😀

I honestly don’t think she’s dead. I think she’s being held somewhere. If she had been murdered, Corrie’s script writers need to give it a rest. We’ve just been through Steven being a mass murderer, Path Phelan
and then before that the bloke Gail was married to and also Hope’s dad and Carla’s brother.

I'm presuming that Joel pimped Lauren out for O-Vidz sex work plus she had clients at her flat, under threat of violence
He beat her when she said no to doing it any more
Presuming he will kidnap/ traffic Bethany and force her also but possibly share her with other creeps
There seems to be an idea amongst some that sex workers are liberated young women who choose to do it when most are trafficked and forced into under threat of violence or addicts.

It's a good storyline if it changes that perception

And yes to the suggestion that some girls/women are happy to do sex work shit. It's SO wrong in the majority of cases. The vast majority are drugged, or have had terrible childhoods and teen years, and some addicted to drugs. OR as you say, they are forced into it.

Yeah I kind of agree with this. I didn't want to say it though. I don't actually want Carla and Swain to start a romantic relationship. They can still be good friends without anything more. And as you say, (and I said earlier,) Carla has never been into women.

I mean I have known several women who have been with men/married for some years (up to their late 30s/early 40s,) and she left her husband for another woman. Not massively common but it does happen. I am just not feeling it with Carla though. I don't think she is into women, and I don't think the viewing public will like it if they do that storyline. Not because homophobia, but because it's Carla.

When Bethany visited the young girl in her flat and Joel appeared afterwards from the back room, how did he know she was coming? Did Daniel's cardi-woman tell him? Maybe she is on the baddies side now and helping recruit young girls, not safeguarding them? Hmmm...
