Survivor (UK) is coming back!

We love the Australian Survivor, and am so excited to see the UK one is coming back.

Presented by Joel Dommet, on BBC so no adverts. Dom Republic.

I know someone who got through several audition rounds then crickets. They are gutted but a super fan so will have another go next year.

I'm sure there was more of a variety of ages and shapes and sizes in previous series like this. This looks a bit like Love Island.

I'm not loving Joel as the presenter of this. Wish they'd chosen someone with a bit more gravitas. Maybe he'll get better? He's nowhere near the league of Jeff Probst. Mark Austin was much better on the old UK Survivor even.

I'm watching with DS - I remember when the first Survivor came out and the fuss around it, though I never watched (too young).

DS loves I'm a Celebrity... but I wanted to show him a more 'realistic' version and so far he's really into it, though v disappointed the winner doesn't get £1 million 🤣. Or that no one has had to eat the testicles of various wild animals.

Thought it was really interesting that Caleton were really upbeat and positive despite not winning (yet), but you could see La Nena just hating the mere possibility of losing, and already starting to plot against each other.

I've really enjoyed this so far, though was suspicious the knots were made easier under water so that the orange team could have a win. I thought Joel was less annoying than usual , thought he was OK.

It's getting better as they get more into voting each other off. But it's got to the point where Joel's voice is like nails down a blackboard for me. Please someone just make him shut up!

I also find it very amateurish compared to the US and Aus versions. Most of the US contestants would eat the Brits for breakfast.

Yes the US one is amazing. It's the original. There's been 45 (!!) seasons so far so that's how successful it's been. It's fabulous!

Just to add that the winner of US Survivor wins one million dollars so that may explain why it's pretty hardcore!! The backstabbing is next level.

We got into Survivor Australia during lockdown and watched loads of series on Prime. So far the UK version is set up very similar to the Aussie one. That game where they were roped together and had to catch the other team in the water is one they did on the Aussie version. Also the one with holding the ropes while making a pile of bricks in the middle.

I'm quite enjoying the UK version so far. Lee is awful and will obviously be blindsided at some point. Lawrence is comically posh. I like young Cumbrian Matty. Doug seems like he could go a long way. Ren is annoying.

Leilani will enjoy the greater home comforts of La Nena's camp (much better built bed for instance after they won the first challenge). I seriously doubt she will have any loyalty to Caleton but it could be very useful to her down the line having friends in both tribes.

I’m really enjoying this and like Joel as the presenter.
I find Lee and Pegleg’s attitude so strange, dividing their own team into men against women. And being quite open about their plan?!

Dh and I are enjoying it. Yes Joel has a grating voice but on fairness he says that himself in one of the episodes. I liked in tonight's episode when he stepped in and basically stopped the contestant in the trial as he could see they were about to break.

Having watched ep 8 on iplayer, I'm increasingly convinced the winner is going to come from OG La Nena tribe. OG Caledon are not playing this well after the tribe swap. They are letting the La Nenas run rings round them.
