We love the Australian Survivor, and am so excited to see the UK one is coming back.

Presented by Joel Dommet, on BBC so no adverts. Dom Republic.

Looking forward to it!

I watched them last night, just putting it on again as I enjoyed the second blindside sooo much 😂

happinessischocolate · 03/12/2023 11:53

Did T really think Peg and Hannah wouldn't mind and would really do what she wanted?

I noticed T always says I have "insert various people" never we are voting or we have as a group it's always I have. And then at tribal council she said about her people carrying her through 🤔

I'm surprised Leilani is so willing to do what T wants bearing in mind T voted her out ages ago and it's only because of the game moving Leilani to the other tribe that she's still there.

Doug totally put his faith in the wrong people, and now I wouldn't be surprised if Chris won. They hate him because he is devious and can't be trusted but then are surprised when he comes up with a cunning plan 😂 well played Chris in getting Matt to swap sides

AbondonedThemePark · 03/12/2023 20:59

They're not very good at the endurance challenges are they? I seem to remember on Australian Survivor hours and hours would pass with people still up poles and whatnot.

evtheria · 03/12/2023 21:11

Ep12‼️‼️‼️

I agree with the choice tonight.
T made a big mistake last time, not involving Hannah re Doug - she wasn't as close as Peg, so could have been swayed, but instead was made to see the divide between old tribes and feel undervalued. They really missed the opportunity for a loyal alliance follower there. I also think it was v valid that if it came down to T, Nathan and Matty... Matty would have been left behind, so it was good to see him take a big risk to protect himself.

I also find it interesting how Caleton, who was the 'softer' tribe at the start, have come out top. Did that initial atmosphere of encouragement and 'we lost AGAIN but we did our best, well done everyone!' set the foundation for this die-hard loyalty to each other down the line?

Peg makes me laugh - he says nothing but you can just SEE him fuming/rolling his eyes/wishing the person would stfu.

TheMadGardener · 03/12/2023 21:36

I think Pegleg is restraining himself from telling some of the younger ones to stfu because he doesn't want to make enemies/wants to stay under the radar. He was genuinely shocked when Doug went.

Tinuke knew either Matthew or Laurence must have betrayed her but couldn't quite believe that either of them would. She thought that all the ex-Caletonians would just say yes to anything she and Nathan decided.

Laurence was quite smart not actually voting for T but also not voting Chris. He wanted T to think well of him when she is on the jury. However this may not work since she hasn't yet worked out that Matthew was her betrayer.

Matthew was smart to realise that if he ended up in the final 3 with Tinuke and Nathan then they would discard him and take each other to the final 2. HOWEVER, he has now put a bit of a target on himself as Nathan and Leilani will no longer trust him and will be gunning for him.

Christopher was having a lovely time giggling to himself as first Doug and then Tinuke left while he is still there despite having been seen as dead-man-walking. However his problem is still that NO ONE trusts him!

It will be interesting to see if the new alliance of Matthew, Pegleg, Chris and Hannah lasts and they try to get Nathan out next, who is a big player. Looking at the last few challenges, they need to realise that Christopher, Laurence, Pegleg, Matthew are all pretty good at challenges. It depends who wins the next immunity too. If it's Nathan, do they go back to trying to get Chris out or use him as a voting number against the ex-Caletonians?

It's starting to get good!

AbondonedThemePark · 03/12/2023 21:53

Just took a look at series 3 of Australian Survivor, and in a pole challenge the last two were up there for nearly six hours, and in the final challenge the last two were on tiny blocks for almost 6 and a half hours!

I can't imagine anyone on the UK one having that endurance.

eish · 03/12/2023 23:03

Whilst I liked T she had the vote coming, she was taking way too much control. People realise that they will eventually be in the line to be picked off. I think Chris is playing a good game, sneaky yes but clever. I think Hannah might go all the way.

I looked at the cosmo article that someone posted up thread (I have only just found this). No one mentioned the Scottish personal trainer who couldn’t run. I was pretty amazed by that and now you say the Aussies stay up poles for 6 hours. Definitely a weaker show from the uk one I guess!

allhailthebrain · 04/12/2023 03:20

Well, the votes this weekend threw everything up in the air! It's interesting how people (I had a search on SM to see what the world were saying!) get annoyed with contestants for "turning on each other" or "backstabbing" etc.

I mean it's literally the game! I guess they were the people who didn't like Will getting others voted out of the Traitors 😆

Chris' reactions to tonight's votes, every time someone voted for T was funny! Interested to see what next week brings...

Hello by the way! 👋

Pancakeorcrepe · 04/12/2023 07:51

OK, I’m all up to date now.
I was flabbergasted by the blindsides, the game has really started now.
I struggle sometimes with the editing, I think I missed out on important bits. I still don’t get why they are all so set on Chris. They keep accusing him of not being trustworthy but none of them are! They are all playing the game. The second blindside was quite satisfying even though I did really love Tinuke and for me she was the strongest competitor. She just got too confident that everyone would blindly follow her strategies.

happinessischocolate · 04/12/2023 13:11

It's annoying it's only on at the weekend I could quite happily have watched it every night

Tbh I think it shows the British contestants are more intelligent, who wants to be stuck up a pole for 6 hours! At least in this series when there's 2 left one soon realises they won't win so what's the point in dragging it out

I suspect it's more down to the difference in prize money. UK winner gets £100k whereas the Australian winner gets £250k. An extra £150k will be worth a bit more effort to most people.

RedToothBrush · 04/12/2023 18:30

Just caught up.

Doug was too much of a threat. I think it was fairly obvious he was at risk.

Tinuke, just got cocky. Its that simple. She thought she had it in the bag.

Lawrence has played a blinder with that. Whats interesting is he managed to count the votes - only him and Matty were in a position to do which is interesting in itself.

I think that immunity idols and/or winning immunity really are going to throw a spanner in the works next weekend.

Lelali, Peg and Lawrence are all flying under the radar atm. Hannah is a bit of a non-entity.

HalleLouja · 07/12/2023 20:47

I can’t see Chris winning. Lee and T both dislike him and are on the jury.

I find Leiani interesting. She technically should have been voted out weeks ago and she seems pretty safe at the moment.

Watching Lawrence doing the task was fun. He was so slow and aced it.

If you say so! 😆

Or lazier. Or less fit. Or fewer endurance skills.

HundredMilesAnHour · 08/12/2023 23:44

I've been watching the first season of Survivor NZ on YouTube. I think it's really good!! Much more like US Survivor (lots of plotting!) and I definitely recommend it (and no equivalent irritating Joel talking too much like the UK version).

happinessischocolate · 09/12/2023 19:28

maybe the makers of the uk one deliberately didn't select madly competitive people as they didn't want people who would stay up a pole for 6 hours 😂 it's not particularly good tv, they dont get any more footage and it must be a pita for the presenter and the rest of the crew 😁

2Rebecca · 09/12/2023 21:45

What a pair of idiots. That plan was doomed to fail. How could they be sure there was only one key. Suspect the camera crew unlocked it

I suspect production inference too. But hell it makes it interesting!

SnappyMcMuffin · 09/12/2023 22:02

'Sniff o'clock' ... does that mean what I think it means?! 🫣

RedToothBrush · 09/12/2023 22:11

Have to say, I'm kinda glad there aren't fixed solid alliances and they are all a bit feckless at this point. But I think Nathan's comments haven't gone down well with some.

TheMadGardener · 09/12/2023 23:47

Christopher and Matty - total idiots with their plotting! Should have just taken the idol out of the lobster pot pronto! Dumb and Dumber was about right.

TheMadGardener · 10/12/2023 01:56

Starting to look like the main reason for Christopher's continued survival is that no one's feeling scared to be in the last two with Christopher because they feel sure the jury will hate him and not give him the money! 🤣

It's all getting a lot more panicky and unpredictable. Pegleg is playing a good game and I wouldn't mind if he won (especially as he's a local to me). Hannah seems to be coasting a bit, hasn't won any challenges I think, she needs to do more to earn the money.

Bit sad to see the back of Laurence, he was an interesting character.

Hannah is making up the numbers for me. She adds absolutely nothing to the show.

Peg leg is playing a good game by letting the idiots get on with it. As is Leilani.

I don't think Matty, Chris or Nathan can win. Peg, Leilani or Hannah will get the jury vote...

@SnappyMcMuffin Laurence said “snuff o’clock” 👍🏼
