We love the Australian Survivor, and am so excited to see the UK one is coming back.

Presented by Joel Dommet, on BBC so no adverts. Dom Republic.

Looking forward to it!

The OG Caleton tribe did let Doug and Pegleg divide them further, rather than using their power to get rid of them.

The comments about Jess having great balance did make me laugh. Plus Nathan deliberately mis-spelling Shai.

Lee vs Christopher could get interesting.

TheMadGardener · 19/11/2023 17:52

Christopher is very sneaky. Lee is such a misogynist that I suspect the remaining women will conspire to get rid of him after merge.

Matthew is doing well - very genial, good at tasks, everyone likes him.

Some of the big guys are no good at the balancing tasks.
My sister once stitched up a cut above Pegleg's eye when he damaged himself surfing, that's her claim to fame!

Oh I’m so pleased of the voting result on that last episode! This programme is growing on me now!

Nate's happiness at 1) writing Shy and 2) realising it had gone his way had me cheering 😁

😃 absolutely! I was on tenterhooks thinking it might go the other way!

OnTheBoardwalk · 19/11/2023 21:31

What a load of shite. They’ve had harder challenges than this on Big Brother

was really excited about this after the first series now not so much

Most of these challenges I recognise from Survivor Australia.

Stopbloodybanging · 20/11/2023 12:12

This is the first survivor I’ve ever seen. I’m enjoying it but incredibly excited to read that there are many and better us series to watch!!
As long as they don’t have the Joel D equivalent saying, “that’s one vote for X ……..and two votes for Y”, v e r y s l o w l y every single time he reveals a vote. GET ON WITH IT JOEL !!!

happinessischocolate · 20/11/2023 13:15

Ah I love Joel, he cracks me up, and tbf the long drawn out votes is not his fault, any other presenter would be made to do the same.

That's standard for Survivor regardless of presenter/country. Although it's less irritating when it's not actually Joel. (I really don't like him as a presenter of this, his voice just irritate me so much)

Oh no 🤣
Ok, well I’ll forgive Joel then…….although it doesn’t make it any less irritating!

Pancakeorcrepe · 20/11/2023 20:29

There’s another episode out today!

HalleLouja · 20/11/2023 21:06

@Pancakeorcrepe I can only see 8 episodes….

Is this suitable for 10/11 year olds would people say? They enjoyed that fitness one on BBC with Jordan North presenting.

Thanks

Yes - we watch it with dcs (9 and 11). They get a bit bored during the strategy talks, and the waffle before they vote but the show is age appropriate

The UK show is not a patch on the Australian one sadly. It's like none of the contestants had even watched the show before and Joel really doesn't compare to Jonathan La Paglia.

Does anyone know if it's possible to watch the US Survivor in the UK?

I think Lee is from the Irish travelling community where their attitude to women is very traditional, marry very young, stay at home look after kids (lots of kids). As a Traveller male where the odds are very stacked against them, it is a tough culture to grow up in, I think he has done very well for himself. Very sad to hear he has lost both his mum and brother.

evtheria · 21/11/2023 10:00

I'm really surprised so many of the players are still putting so much emphasis on who is 'amazing and lovely' over who actually does consistently well for the tribes... unless they're just putting it on and secretly wanting a few weaker players to remain in as it'll benefit them down the line (which draws ever nearer!)

Does anyone else think Lee is withdrawing more into himself? He's not as mouthy or bossy as he started off being, and more of the camera shots show him just listening or observing the others. Interested to see what happens when everyone is together.

I really like Tinuke, Peg and kind of Doug. I feel like I would be like Peg - went in it to show older people could do well at Survivor, but then realising I'm actually too old and cba for all the social drama that goes along with it.

I'm watching it with my DS9, who's a pretty average nine year old (not extra mature for his age or anything, I mean).
He loves it, and now says it's better than I'm a Celeb.

happinessischocolate · 21/11/2023 11:27

I watched the last 20 minutes or so again last night, just for the joy of seeing Laurence and Shai plotting badly and then their faces when it doesn't go their way.

It's even better when you know what's going to happen 😂

Littlebitofacold · 21/11/2023 12:02

Brilliant thanks. I think mine will love it!

Yep, and Nathan, the way he dealt with Laurence and Shai made me respect him after they went behind his back.

I am definitely Team Nathan after the last episode. Hopefully he stays a while longer.
