BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 18/05/2023 08:38

We love the Australian Survivor, and am so excited to see the UK one is coming back.

Presented by Joel Dommet, on BBC so no adverts. Dom Republic.

Looking forward to it!

@SnappyMcMuffin Laurence said “snuff o’clock” 👍🏼

Aha!! I get it 🤣

Floralnomad · 10/12/2023 10:42

Late to this thread but watched it all up to date and I hope neither of the women win as they have literally done nothing of note .

TheMadGardener · 10/12/2023 10:45

Yes, out of those who are left several have done nothing to earn the win - the only reason Hannah's still there is because they don't see her as a threat.

Looks like it's going to end up with mostly non-entities left and all the big characters sitting on the jury bench! Pegleg for the win IMO.

Doingmybest12 · 10/12/2023 10:58

I think Lelani's done well in some of the challenges and Hannah is a solid camp member. I think they've played their own games pretty well.

mummymayhem18 · 10/12/2023 11:50

I want Pegleg to win but I'm bias as I know him as he's from my hometown. I don't know him well, just to say Hi! to. We are friends on Facebook. He's a good guy and has done a lot for himself and doesn't let anything stop him. I like Hannah as well.

SonicAllanKey · 10/12/2023 11:56

I’d be happy with a Pegleg win. I think he seems like a decent chap all round. He’s managed to play the game but without coming across as a total arse so props to him. Leilani I’m not sure of, Hannah I don’t think has had the strategy, Matt and Chris have annoyed me with their bigging themselves up VTs.

HundredMilesAnHour · 10/12/2023 12:06

I just find the whole thing very amateurish. Have none of them ever watched or heard of Survivor before?! I thought that maybe I was being a bit picky / unfair and then I watched the first series of Survivor NZ and that is leagues ahead of the UK one. Despite saying at the start that they only had 8,000 people apply for it. Maybe the Brits just aren't suited to Survivor.

Floralnomad · 10/12/2023 12:34

I would like Peg to win and hopefully if he gets to the final that is what will happen as he’s got good support in the jury . I’ve not watched any of the foreign versions so nothing to compare although I do recall watching the uk one many years ago .

Totally agree with you! It was the same with what is on Prime as the third series of Survivor Australia which is also leagues ahead.

But then when I watched the first series of Australian Traitors it felt like a grown up version of the UK one. So maybe the Uk mindset is completely different.

I mean Kristie Bennett who won Australian Survivor had worked towards being on it and winning it for years and years! I can't imagine any of the UK people doing more than coming across an advert and deciding to give it a go, because why not.

RedToothBrush · 10/12/2023 14:48

Have caught up with both episodes. I think watching the jury's reactions has been very revealing.

Ash can't stand Leilani
No one likes Chris
Nathan is popular
Matty got a thumbs up from Lee
Doug loves Peg

The clips for next week's make me think I have a fair idea of who makes the final.

AbondonedThemePark · 10/12/2023 14:48

Just started watching NZ one, and it's over 40 days, Oz was over 50-something, and the UK one it's 20-something days.

It just doesn't compare!

Edit: NZ one is for $100,000, like UK for £100,000. Oz was $250,000.

AbondonedThemePark · 10/12/2023 14:52

Ah, is it. A lot less than the others.

The most recent Survivor Australia prize money was $500k. Survivor NZ is $250k (although only $100k in the first season).

I think Nathan has messed up.

As everyone knew he had the immunity idol he should have taken the risk and not played it. He would then be safe again tonight.

Or he should have not told anyone he had it, let them all vote for him and then he should have voted Matt out. Why he voted with everyone else to get Lawrence out I don't understand. He had more chance of making Lawrence an ally than he had with Chris or Matt

They will now vote him out next.

Tinuke would have played the immunity so much better.

If Chris and Matt end up as the final two I think the tribal council will struggle with who they would choose as Tinuke and Nathan would never want Matt to win after he turned in them but they can't stand Chris either.

I think (and hope) Peg will win.

Asiatoyork · 11/12/2023 16:11

Only just found this! All up to date, but I’m on Asia time. I assume I’m behind the Uk but won’t say the result of the last one just on case.

Peg for the win if he can get to the final I reckon

Doug's reaction makes me think Peg makes the final.

TheMadGardener · 11/12/2023 18:44

If anyone is in the final with Chris they will get the jury vote as he is so unpopular. Although he's actually played a really good game to survive this long, the ultimate cat with 9 lives.

Bit annoyed because the trailer at the end of episode 14 has a clip of the forearm of the next person out holding their torch as Joel extinguishes it. If you look at the forearms of the people left, it's really obvious whose arm it is so it's a big spoiler.

AbondonedThemePark · 11/12/2023 19:05

They must have clipped that because the only arm there now is Joel's.

Bichette · 11/12/2023 19:58

I was really hoping we'd seen the last of Chris and his leopard print shirt.

martinisforeveryone · 11/12/2023 20:35

Me too. I find everything about Chris incredibly annoying. Couldn't tell you who I do want to win though.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 11/12/2023 20:48

Chris bugs the life out of me, but you cannot deny he is playing the game hard, and well.

Asiatoyork · 11/12/2023 23:44

I didn’t see the arm in the end of the last one either. That is an annoying mistake for them to have made.

Maybe, although they can edit reactions so much who knows? I reckon you’re right though.

I really do not understand why people keep saying Nathan is a threat, because he’s not actually that successful at challenges and he’s not the smartest cookie I don’t think.

Nathan was a threat because of the people on the jury. They would have picked him over Chris or Matt and probably over Hannah and Leilani, the only one who could possibly beat him is Peg

I've just rewatched the trailer for Saturdays episodes and agree no forearm is shown and judging by the reactions I reckon Matt goes.
